Chapter 452 Getting Close The End

"What kind of monster was that?" Yuan continued to stare in the direction where the monster had been standing a moment ago before disappearing. He appeared confused, as he hadn't seen such a monster before. He was also very curious about how that monster managed to create a portal, flee immediately, and completely disappear.

'Whatever monster that was...it was powerful! Also very intelligent,' Yuan pondered, a serious look on his face. The monster had been able to hide its presence, observe the battle from a distance, and command all the monsters to attack the people. Surely, a monster of this intelligence couldn't be ordinary.

Meanwhile, his wives slaughtered every last monster that was trying to flee from the battlefield. When they looked at Yuan, they noticed he was staring in a particular direction with a pondering look on his face, seemingly deep in thought.

Anna approached him with a smile on her face, placed her hand gently on his shoulder, and asked, "Dear, why are you staring in that direction so seriously? And what are you thinking about so deeply?"

"Darling," Grace also placed her hand on his shoulder, "did you sense something dangerous in that direction?"

Yuan looked at Anna and Grace and saw their worried expressions. Then he glanced at his other wives, who also appeared concerned about him. He couldn't help but let out a soft sigh.

"Well, I noticed a powerful monster in that direction, observing us from a distance. I suspect it is the reason behind the sudden ambush from the Corrupted Monsters," Yuan said after taking a deep breath, still looking in the direction where the strange monster had been standing a moment ago.

Lily's eyes lit up upon hearing this, and she said, "Then let's go and capture that monster. I also want to see how strong it is compared to these weaklings."

Yuan smiled strangely upon hearing his sister's words and shook his head. "Sadly, that monster fled the moment it noticed I was looking at him. So, we can't capture or kill it at the moment," he said, a helpless smile on his face.

"I see... too bad the monster ran away. If it hadn't, I would've beaten the crap out of that ugly monster," Lily said with a wide, vicious grin. Then her eyes suddenly lit up again. "How about we chase the monster and kill it together?"

"Yeah, I don't think it went too far from here," Grace added, nodding at Lily, her excitement evident in her sparkling eyes.

"Sorry to disappoint you guys, but we won't be able to catch it since the monster disappeared after entering a portal," Yuan replied, scratching the back of his head. He then explained to them what had happened when he noticed the monster using his divine sense. After hearing his explanation, his wives' countenances turned extremely surprised.

"I can't believe that such a powerful creature was watching us fight against the Corrupted Monsters from such a close distance, and yet we failed to notice it," Anna muttered in disbelief. She couldn't believe that with her cultivation, she had been oblivious to the existence of such a powerful creature.

"I also failed to notice it. That monster was probably very intelligent to successfully hide its presence from us, cultivators!" Grace's face turned very serious and cold, almost as though she was going to kill someone to vent her frustration.

"I fully support your decision, King Richard," Yuan replied with a smile, and then he and his wives left the battlefield.

Following that, King Richard ordered his men to recover the bodies of their fallen comrades, storing them in specially prepared magic pouches to return them to their families later.

It was the same magic pouch he used to store dead bodies before. The good thing about this magic pouch is that it prevents the corpse from rotting inside it, keeping it fresh for almost two months. After two months, the corpse would slowly start to decompose inside the magic pouch.

Once the corpses of the fallen comrades were stored inside the magic pouch, King Richard announced that they would resume their march shortly. A few minutes later, they began marching toward the end of the miasma, with King Richard leading everyone as he possessed the magic compass.

Meanwhile, Mireya, Sylvia, and Valeria bombarded Yuan with questions about his strange yet extremely powerful technique and about cultivation, as they were very curious after witnessing the strength of the cultivators.

Yuan shook his head at their questions and smiled helplessly, unsure of which question to answer first, feeling overwhelmed by their inquiries.

"Let's just say that the technique I used earlier is the most powerful one I have learned so far. However, I have even more powerful techniques that I haven't learned yet because they are very difficult to master with my current level of cultivation," Yuan replied with a smile. "Thus, I haven't learned those techniques yet."

"You have techniques that are many times more powerful than the one you used earlier? This is unbelievable!" All three of them muttered in disbelief, looking at him with wide-open eyes, seemingly speechless.

"That's right, but the technique I used earlier was special and can't be compared with other techniques of the same rank."

Mireya, Sylvia, and Valeria stared at Yuan with surprise, never having imagined their husband would be so mysterious and powerful.

Sometime later, the thick miasma started to thin gradually, and after a while, they could roughly see the trees and various plants on the other side of the miasma.

"Everyone! Keep moving, we're getting closer to the end of the miasma, and we will shortly get out of it!"

Suddenly, King Richard's loud and clear voice resounded, causing everyone to focus their gazes ahead, and smiles appeared on their faces as they saw the other side of the miasma.

"Finally! Finally, we're about to get out of this damn miasma!"

Seeing that they were getting closer to the end of the miasma, people became very energetic and began to move forward a bit faster than before, as if their exhaustion had suddenly vanished.
