“Hongyu, what’s happening? Are you not feeling well?” Bo Miaojiao asked with evident concern after noticing something off about Qin Hongyu’s demeanor.
“It’s nothing... Don’t worry about me,” Qin Hongyu responded almost instinctively.
Yet, inside, his heart was churning with excitement. He couldn’t help but think, “Is this the legendary system I’ve heard about? But... what’s its purpose?”
Silence was the only reply Qin Hongyu received, as if the voice in his mind had never existed.
Had he not felt a distinct change in his body, he might have doubted his sanity, wondering if it had all been an illusion.
Each crack revealed a different vista. While dragons appeared in the cracks over Xaprassau, in Northern Europe, onlookers witnessed Demon Beasts from Norse mythology, like the colossal Jormungand, the earthly python that could encircle half the continent.
The emergence of the Crack of Darkness brought an onslaught of monsters to Geaster, plunging its native creatures into a frenzy of mutations and ancestral reversions. Beasts once deemed harmless to human dominion grew increasingly formidable, as if the gods were mocking mankind. Yet, amidst this upheaval, humans remained unchanged.
This era marked the bleakest century for humanity, casting Geaster back into a bygone desolate era. Despite their technological prowess, humans could barely eke out an existence against the onslaught of terrifying Demon Beasts.
Nuclear weapons, the sole force capable of challenging these mighty creatures, offered a temporary reprieve. But the ensuing radiation only hastened the monsters’ evolution, exacting a dire toll on humanity.
Nevertheless, hope for mankind was not extinguished. At the brink of despair, humanity unearthed a hidden key within their own bloodline—the Battle Spirit Bloodline. Through the Battle Spirit Awakening Ceremony, individuals could call forth their personal battle spirits, and by diligently cultivating them, humans gained the means to stand against the monstrous tide.
Thus emerged the most revered vocation on Geaster—the Battle Spirit Fighter.
