Standing in front of a huge magical portal, Orion had successfully completed what was required of him in the inferno zone, and now, his next target was the tidal wave zone.
He rummaged through his item box as he searched for the pills that he was to use for his next activity.
Orion hopped down from his phoenix bird, and Aurora noticed him holding two pills in his hand. She wondered what the pills were for. Orion noticed her gaze on his hand, so he explained it to her.
"These are body adapting pills."
"Our next challenge requires us to use this."
"We'll be facing some underwater sea monsters, so you'll need one as well."
"Here," Orion tried to give Aurora a pill but she moved back a little. She still wasn't sure if she should use the pill or not.
Besides, the pill didn't look like food, so why should she take the pill?
"What's wrong, you don't want this?"
Aurora shook her head in response.
"Come on, stop being a baby and just take the pill," Aurora moved back even more.
"Fine, just stay there, I'll head into the portal myself." Orion tossed the pill into his mouth and waited to see the changes it would make to his body.
The pill looked like a small blue-colored pearl, but the moment it entered his mouth, it dissolved into a liquid mass of sweetness.
The main purpose of the pill was to help the students adapt to the tidal wave zone, so Orion expected to see a few changes in his body.
He looked at his arms and legs once again but nothing had changed.
"Maybe its effect isn't instantaneous?" He thought out loud, then he began to notice a tingling sensation coursing through his body.
He could feel some things going on within his body, and he gasped as gills sprouted from the sides of his neck.
The feeling was exhilarating and surreal, and Orion noticed that each breath he took filled his lungs not with air, but with a cool, briny feeling of the sea, making him feel like he was born to swim.
Orion was in awe of this new sensation, as well as the way his body was slowly transforming into something new, but then he glanced at his hands and noticed his fingers were reshaping, expanding, and becoming webbed.
"Awesome," Orion muttered with a clear look of excitement on his face.
These monsters were very fast and nimble as they moved within the sea, making them extremely dangerous.
A lot of the other contestants had been forcefully summoned back to the inferno zone, thanks to these fishes and their deadly attacks.
However, within minutes, the fishes had been swiftly taken care of by Orion.
Aurora also handled the ones she was up against and with that done, they continued to advance to their destination.
To get to the next portal, Orion and Aurora had to pass through this kelp forest because it was a short cut and it would make it easier for them to progress to the next stage. They were able to pass through the kelp forest successfully, and it didn't take them more than a few minutes to come out of the forest.
The moment they were out of the forest, Orion noticed a sunken ship, but they weren't the only ones in the ship because it turned out that the ship also happened to be the nest of a magical beast.
These particular beasts resembled eels and since Orion was familiar with eels, he was certain that they had a huge amount of electrical current flowing through their bodies.
But just to be sure, he scanned these beasts with the help of his system, and they were indeed eels, but their size was a lot bigger than the normal eels he knew back on Earth.
The battle between them continued for a while but it still wasn't the end yet. The path to the portal was still a bit far, but the journey wasn't really hard and it didn't take Orion and Aurora too long to arrive at their destination.
However, there was a large obstacle preventing them from easily making their way to the glowing white portal at the far end of their current location.
The obstacle preventing them was none other than a large sea serpent which had the ability to blend into its surroundings and summon dangerous razorfins as well.
The razorfins appeared out of the surrounding kelp forest to protect the large sea serpent, and the moment Orion was preoccupied with the razorfins, the sea serpent blended in with its surroundings, waiting for the right time to strike.
It also noticed that Aurora was preoccupied with the razorfins she was fighting against, and so it slithered deeper into his surroundings, waiting for the perfect time to strike.
Meanwhile, Orion and Aurora continued to do what they were doing, but seeing that more razorfins continued to appear before them, Aurora ignited her body in flames like never before.
The flames were extremely hot and the water around Aurora started boiling before she unleashed the concentrated flames onto the dangerous little razorfins swimming around them.
Her flames killed every single one of the razorfins.
The large serpent didn't want to waste its chance to strike while Orion and Aurora were enjoying their victory, but to its surprise, a huge spear appeared from deep beneath the ocean, and impaled the large beast. Then Aurora set the large serpent on fire.
A loud piercing sound echoed beneath the sea and before it knew it, the entire body of the serpent burned to crisp.
Although, Aurora's elemental weakness was certainly water due to her magical affinity to fire, but because Aurora was naturally a transcendent beast, she had the ability to produce extremely hot flames which could burn any deep sea creature.
Noticing that the large serpent was dead, Orion turned around to see if there was any other beasts and since there wasn't, he and Aurora entered into the portal to face against their next set of opponents in a completely different zone .
Meanwhile, back at the arena, Ariel, Karen, Elena and Evelyn all watched as Orion and Aurora advanced to the next zone called Terra Zone.
