Chapter 196 196. Queen Of Dragons.
Several minutes later, both men could be seen to be completely exhausted as they lay on the floor panting heavily while staring at the night sky with their arms and legs stretched out on the road.
They had both suffered serious damage as broken bones and bruises littered their bodies.
Lucky had reverted from his demonic form to his human one to save his strength before fighting once again.
Once his breathing became steady, he was the first to break the silence between the two of them.
"You wanted to know why I made your family my target?"
"The decision to have your father killed had been made for years now but we just needed the right time to implement it."
"What do you mean by 'we'?" Kevin said, before adding. "Do you mean Ned Baratheon and Christopher Mormon?"
"Unfortunately for those two, our interest only aligns when it comes to having your father dead, but beyond that, those two know little of what our real plans are."
"We've been watching you, Kevin, ever since you decided to return to the city, and up to the point that you obtained your immortal abilities."
"Your growth has been closely monitored. Your achievement in successfully outwitting Brian Stark and becoming the new king of the underworld isn't exempted from our knowledge either."
"As your uncle, I couldn't be more proud of what you've achieved....." n)/0Velb1n
"Say that again and I'll kill you."
Lucky chuckled at Kevin's threat, since he knew fully well that Kevin couldn't even stand on his two feet, let alone try to kill him. After all, they were both extremely exhausted with several parts of their bodies aching all over.
"Let me get this straight," Kevin said, before proceeding. "It was you who sent the cannibal to attack me when I left the university?"
"Hm, mm," Uncle Lucky nodded in response.
"And you were also the one who asked the shopkeeper to give the adult video to one of my friends as well?"
"That part wasn't easy but yes, I was the one who did that," Lucky replied, then suddenly recalled something else as well.
"Oh, that reminds me. I was the one who gave Victoria the address to your house as well. This was done so that she could meet with her brother who hadn't been in contact with her for years. I'm certain you know of the problems they had in their sibling relationship."
"I see," Kevin nodded in understanding. Now, two of the most important questions that had been plaguing his mind for quite some time had finally been answered.
In fact, it looked like whoever his uncle was working with never really had Max as their target. Rather, it seemed that they were after him all along.
'But why?' Kevin still didn't know the answer to this question and as though his uncle could read his thoughts, he asked a question, dragging Kevin's attention back to him.
"Have you ever heard of the queen of dragons?" Uncle Lucky asked, then began to explain.
Aside from the fact that Kevin already knew about Elysium and the world of the immortals where a few of them were banished before eventually turning into demons.
Kevin also recalled the system informing him of the fact that the ruler of Elysium happened to be Cratos, the god of strength.
But before Cratos ascended the throne. He was regarded as the strongest immortal in all of Elysium at the time.
And as the future king of Elysium, he asked for the Queen of Dragons' hand in marriage.
Both of them were young and impulsive, and they clearly had feelings for one another, so it didn't take too long for the Queen to accept Cratos' proposal.
But a few immortals weren't too keen on the idea of having a lizard sitting on a throne that had belonged to countless numbers of immortals before them.
Although there was no immortal who doubted the strength and abilities the queen of dragons possessed, a few of them could never accept the fact that the future king wanted to make her his wife.
In the land of the dragons, the queen of dragons had been chosen to lead her race from a young age due to her intelligence and abilities which rivaled more than 80% of the immortals present in Elysium.
She was a gifted child born only once in a millennium to the dragon race, and so when the opportunity arose for the Queen of dragons to become the future king of Elysium's bride, many of her kinsmen were in support of this.
However, knowing fully well the dangers that lay ahead of her, they all decided to support whatever decision the queen made, while hoping that she would make the right choice in the end.
But no one doubted the queen accepting Cratos' proposal, because they all knew of the love she had for the future king.
Once she accepted his proposal, both the immortals and the dragons understood that they would have to view each other as equals.
But that was a reality many immortals didn't want to see happen.
They tried every means possible to convince the newly appointed King, Cratos, to change his mind about going on with the wedding which was scheduled to take place in a few days.
But Cratos remained adamant in his desire to have the queen of dragons as his wife.
She was stronger than 80% of the immortals residing in Elysium, which meant that she was technically the strongest woman in Elysium, and what better way to have an even stronger heir than ensuring that this marriage came to fruition?
It was then that the rest of the immortals now understood the plans of their king, but while a few of the immortals were now in support of the king's dream and were even willing to accept the change for a better future, others weren't too keen on the king's ideologies.
This was because, no matter how they saw it, the new heir was going to have a different blood other than immortal blood flowing through his veins and this would mean that the next and future generations as well would have the same set of blood flowing through their own veins.
