Her camellia-like hair swayed, long down to her waist. Her green eyes resembled a jewel, as if it was a studded pair.

“How… is this possible?”

A familiar name and a familiar boy.

A memory of ‘someone’ came upon her.

She had reached an answer.

The body she was in was the villainess’, from a novel she had read.

And she fainted, whether it was because of the memories that she had suddenly remembered or was because she wanted to escape from her unbelievable reality.

<Hopeless Man>

As is to the novel’s title, it was a literature of a hopeless romance.

The male lead’s pitiful past began at the hands of the villainess, Lizen Vistor. Him, who had lost his childhood memories, was adopted by the Count from the orphanage.

Lizen Vistor.

The villainess who had gone crazy after denying the reality of her beloved brother’s death.

The family’s relationship was harmonious. There was no stain; not until the accident that had caused the death of Lizen’s younger brother.

And her brother’s death changed her.

Lizen, who couldn’t accept his death, took in a similar boy who looked like him and treated him as her younger brother.

Lizen’s victim, Razette Wigrion, the male lead.

“Sister.”

And the boy in front of Lizen seemed to be Razette.

Lizen raised her hand without answering him.

Ten minutes had passed since she regained consciousness; however, she still couldn’t believe that she possessed a character from a novel.

“Sister, are you okay?”

“…….”

“I was shocked when you suddenly fainted, and that Sister asked me for her name… Are you feeling unwell?”

Lizen was in no mood to answer Rizette. When she ignored him, he stayed silent; unsure if he had the courage to ask Lizen again.

She closed her eyes and reorganized her clouded mind.

Didn’t know anything, all information she knew at the moment was that she possessed the mad woman in a novel. She was hit by a truck and when she opened her eyes, the scene earlier greeted her.

“Father will be here anytime soon. I had informed Father that Sister had fainted.”

She reopened her eyes again and locked eyes at Razette where he was sitting at the side of her bed. Her chest tightened as their eyes met and raised her hand, rubbing her chest as if to soothe herself.

Lizen died at the hands of Razette.

Lizen wanted Razette to be her younger brother Caleb, controlling everything about him: from his tone, speech, behavior, to his expressions.

“You have been quiet for quite some time now. Are you angry?”

A gentle and caring younger brother was looking back at Lizen, yet it was only nothing but an act. Razette had to result in pretending to be Caleb in order to survive from her craziness.

Razette moistened his lips, perhaps nervous when Lizen didn’t say a word.

At that same moment, the door opened.

She shook her head at the unfamiliar visitor, meanwhile, Razette moved away from Lizen and stood near the wall.

“Lizen!”

A middle-aged man appeared at the door.

“What the hell happened?”

The man’s hair was red. She didn’t have to think hard about who appeared.

It was perhaps Lizen’s fa-, no, it was also the possessor’s father now as well.

“What happened for you to faint all of a sudden!”

The Count’s shortness of breath made her taken aback by the worry expressed for her.

As she recalled, Count Vistor hated Lizen. To be precise, Lizen’s hate for him was greater.

The Count loved his daughter. Until his son died.

The day Lizen’s younger brother died in a hut, Lizen was also there with him.

Avoiding their parents’ eyes, the two went to their hideout hut; a place of their little secret: a private space where their parents’ gazes couldn’t be seen.

On the night they were there, a fire was ablaze in their hut.

And it was Lizen who only survived.

“Speak up, Lizen.”

Her loving father turned cold after that accident.

‘I want my brother back.’

The deranged father, similar to Lizen’s longing for her brother; he actively searched at the orphanage and looked for a replacement.

“Yes, I’m fine. I just felt dizzy for a moment.”

Lizen does not even know the reason she fainted.

Perhaps it was because another soul came to possess Lizen’s body, or it was the brain that could not accept the unbelievable situation, attempted to escape.

“You felt dizzy, that’s why you fainted? Are you out of your mind? Say something that makes sense.”

“I just told you.”

“You’re quiet these days, has the disease gone away?”

If it was a disease, it would be the madness that Lizen was suffering from.

She wondered why she came to possess this mad woman’s body and how it was possible. However, the situation at hand came first. She was quick to adapt to her environment.

“If not, did Caleb cause trouble? Are you disobeying me again?”

The Count’s fierce gaze reached Razette.

Lizen’s fake younger brother, unknown outside of their family.

Razette flinched and shook his head.

No, why was he cornering him?

It was absurd.

What she was feeling was presumably Lizen’s emotions.

Anxious and scared, her heart sank as she wondered what Count Vistor would do to Razette.

Lizen does not only tortured Razette, she also basically cared for him.

The problem was that Lizen couldn’t find any similarities with Caleb’s appearance to Razette.

Conflicted, Lizen was always kind to Razette and switched to tormenting him afterward.

“It’s not Caleb’s fault.”

After quickly grasping the situation in front of her, the first thing she did was cover up for him.

“Caleb took care of me when I fainted, so don’t blame him.”

As Razette looked up at her, their eyes met. She radiated enmity in her green eyes.

Their eyes locked at each other, she slowly raised the corners of her lip.

If she wanted to live, she may well start to look good starting forward.
