Chapter 96

Rezen waved his hand and ‘something’ appeared on top of his palm

That something is none other than… pepper… it was black pepper

With an evil light in his eyes, Rezen crushed the pieces of peppers in his hand and sprinkled the powder on the water of the sink

“Hmm… it might be bland— I mean, not enough” he thought before taking out some more black pepper from his void storage

He crushed the second batch of pepper and sprinkled it on the water too

After that, Rezen dipped his pinky finger in the sink before tasting the ‘water and pepper mixture’

“Hmm, that actually doesn’t taste bad. Aside from my pepper, I don’t think other peppers could make water taste this good” he commented before he closes his eyes as he envisioned a particular person

“Water, water, on the sink, show me where my lovely Zero is” Rezen said, his cheeks blushing from endless shame

Those words aren’t something he said on a whim. It was the chant required to use the mutated peppers from the system description

He had exploding cherries, poisoned apples, and now a chant that is similar to a fairy tale

Rezen kind of has the urge to sue his system for plagiarism…

When he opened his eyes, the water on the sink stirred. It bubbled as if it was being boiled before it started playing a scene as if it was a television

“Wow… you’re really tenacious. We can’t even extract any information of your Master from you” Terrom said, his voice having a hint of admiration on it

In front of him, sitting in a chair was the miserable-looking Zero. His right arm was twisted in an abnormal way. His left arm was cut off

His right leg was burned and his left leg has metal spikes on it

Even Zero’s face was not left unscathed. One of his eyeballs was missing, his nose bleeding and his lips had a slanted bloody cut on it

His appearance would induce nausea in many people. He was tortured to the point that he was almost unrecognizable already

“Zero…” Rezen called out through gritted teeth. He is angry about what Terrom and Twighlight Beasts did to his subordinate

When he checked on Keito, the man wasn’t any different. He was also tortured beyond recognition

If not for Rezen’s mutated peppers, he wouldn’t even know where they are

The mutated peppers have only one use. People that consumed them can see where the others are as long as they crushed some peppers and put them in water

All of Rezen’s subordinates ate his mutated peppers and Rezen saved some peppers in case he has to find them

“Zoom out!” Rezen ordered the water in the sink obeyed him. He zoomed out the ‘video’ until he learned where his people were being held

After that, Reze informed Claude that hurriedly called for some people to check before proceeding with an all-out assault

“Master!”

The ten artificial humans that Rezen called greeted him. They are already informed of the situation and they are more than willing to help

Inside the meeting room, a circular table with chairs can be seen. Around this table, more than ten people can be seen sitting and discussing

“Captain Claude, I know that you contributed greatly but to raid them on such short notice, don’t you think that is unreasonable?” One of the military executives said

With Rezen’s help, Claude managed to provide the location of the Twighlight Beast’s branch inside the Greenwood City

That is indeed a great contribution on his part. The Twighlight Beast has become a painful thorn on the humans’ side

Every day, the death toll of innocent humans ranging from normal people to mages has been increasing

The most likely perpetrators would be the people of the Twighlight Beast that are hunting both magic beasts and humans to create their werebeast nuclei to become something neither human nor magic beasts in exchange for power

As such, the Mage Families, the Government, and the citizens desired to eradicate that organization

Claude greatly helped the military in providing the location of the branch but what he wants is to raid them less than 24 hours after providing the location

The formation of the troops and the number of mages that would participate have to be discussed first

Less than 24 hours of preparation is unreasonable and Claude might only be urging them because there is someone from his family that is at the hands of the enemies

“That is partly the reason but we also cannot disregard the fact that many more would die if we don’t do anything!” Claude rebuked but seeing the executive’s expressions, he knew that they don’t want to listen to him

He was thinking of a way to convince them even if he has to use his family name when his phone rang

Not many have Claude’s personal number as such, he checked his phone and his expression turned grim

“Vice-captain Snake Freak, Captain Jurm, Vice-general Endless Insects…” Claude called out the names of the people with him

To sit on the round table, one must at least be a 5th fusion rank mage but there are also those that are below that level in the same room listening

Claude called the people he can recognize and he gained all of their attention

“Can you go and call your families to see if every one of them is safe?” Claude said causing the executives to frown at him

What does that mean? Is he insinuating that their family members are not safe or something?

The executives were in doubt but no matter how much they ask Claude to explain himself, the man only urged them to call their families

His words made them worried and the executives has no choice but to make calls

However, after they were done, the way they look at Claude has become unfriendly

“My families are safe”

“Are you planning to scare us?”

“What do you want to achieve?”

The executives voiced their dissatisfaction but Claude was unfazed before taking his phone out for them to watch something

“T-thats…”

“I-isn’t that the Clay Doll Master?”

The executives were in an uproar after seeing the Clay Doll Master. That title is extremely infamous!

The Wolf King of before has infamy as he won’t hesitate to use humans for his experiments. Many people died because of him

However, his means and actions were pretty direct. He would kidnap humans or head to a secluded village to do his dirty biddings

As for the Clay Doll Master… he is much more infamous. Many people feared him not because he is overwhelmingly strong but because of his special abilities

From the title alone, that man has the magic that uses clay dolls

Those clay dolls are not normal clay dolls. Their impersonating abilities were top-notch!

For example, if Claude was abducted or killed today and the Clay Doll Master created a doll of him, almost no one would discover that he was being impersonated

Even 6th fusion rank mages wouldn’t discover anything abnormal about the clay doll version of Claude

Now, imagine if the Clay Doll Master entered their families or even the military. How exactly would they find who is the impersonator and who is the real person?
