“These cacti and shrooms are quite cute hehehe” Rezen mused while playing with the cacti and shrooms

The Evil Groundshrooms have the body of a normal mushroom. Their heads were an umbrella shape and below it was their body

However, compared to normal mushrooms, they have a pair of claws sharp enough to tear most metals

On their mushroom head was also a pair of horns that gave them a devilish look. Possibly the reason for their names

The quality 3 Evil Groundshrooms were the size of a toddler and the quality 4 ones are even larger. Yet despite their bodies larger than most mushrooms, they can easily blend and travel underground

The quality 3 Needle Shooting Cacti on the other hand looks like a small circular cactus the size of an orange while the quality 4 ones are a bit bigger

Rezen has four cacti on his shoulders and on his side were several Evil Groundshrooms

As these conscious Spirit Plants all grew from his farm, Rezen has special connections with them and all of them are completely loyal to him

These conscious Spirit Plants are similar to his Artificial Humans. Zero and the others are essentially Spirit Plants that were born from the research of the 7th rank mage

Even if Rezen grew an army composed of conscious Spirit Plants, all of them would be completely loyal to him

He just finished growing the Needle Shooting Cacti, Evil Groundshrooms, and the ginseng along with a few more normal plants in hopes that they would grow into useful mutated grade plants

“Master, we are back” Zero followed by One to Five greeted Rezen

They would normally spend their days cultivating or hunting magic beasts but all of them have been called back by Rezen

Of these six Artificial Humans, only Zero and One have broken through the boundary between the 3rd and 4th rank on their own

As for the others, Rezen expedited their progress by giving them quality 4 spirit plants

“You’re back, I have a mission for all of you!” Rezen said and the eyes of the Artificial Humans lit up

Mission! That’s a mission from their master!

Rezen rarely gave them a mission. At most, Rezen would order them to organize the files of their plants or mostly hunt magic beasts

Other times, they are free to do whatever they want. Now that Rezen is issuing a mission, these loyal servants are all eager to be of used to him

“Master, please state the mission. We will do our best!”

Zero was not any different from the others, he was also eager to accomplish their master’s mission

The six of them even kneeled in front of Rezen as if they were ministers waiting for the order of the Emperor

Rezen is used to their personality already and since stopping them is futile he just let them be

“It’s a bit troublesome but instead of killing magic beasts, I want you to bring them back alive!”

“Choose only the fattest magic beasts at the 4th rank! The more blood they have, the better! I need magic beasts enough to cover one acre of land!”

Rezen originally planned on turning himself into a mobile blood bank. Since he has his recovery pills to replenish his blood, he could definitely extract enough blood from himself to fill a pool if given enough time

However, after thinking of it, that’s akin to abusing himself. Fortunately, he thought of using magic beasts and since these magic beasts have a better physique than him then their blood should be more nourishing, right?

Rezen’s farm is ten acres. 2 acres were used for his house and the cherry blossom trees

Another small part has the trees of Spring Almonds which were a staple food of his Nightmare Crows

Allocating 1 acre for the magic beasts wouldn’t be a problem. If it comes to it, Rezen can just buy more land

As a mage, Rezen is only above average but to normal people, he is filthy rich

Even buying a hundred acres of land wouldn’t put that much burden on him

With the mission given to them, the six artificial humans immediately head out to bring back living magic beasts and Rezen was the only human left on his farm again

Rezen continue playing with the cacti and shrooms when a Nightmare Crow suddenly flew and landed on top of his head

This crow was unique among the more than a thousand crows. It was also the only one given a name by Rezen

“What a jealous little thing” Rezen chuckled after seeing Roo’s actions

“Alright, alright, I’ll plant some quality 4 Spirit Plants for you. If you advanced, you would be a true overlord of your kind!” Rezen promised and Roo flew around him happily as if it can understand him

However, before Rezen can plant the Spirit Plants, he suddenly had a visitor which was a beautiful young woman at least in appearance

“Rezen!” Macy called out. Since the farm already recognized her as a friendly entity, no one attacked her

When Rezen saw this woman again, Macy’s eyes were bloodshot. Even the skin under her eyes was darker than usual as if she weren’t able to sleep properly for days

“Hello to you too?” Rezen greeted his eyes narrowing. What does this woman want with him and why is she looking at him like that?

“Your ores! I want more of your ores or I’ll go crazy! Those damn researchers wouldn’t stop pestering me!” Macy said with her bloodshot eyes

She even unconsciously try to hold Rezen’s shoulders but the latter dodged

Macy might be beautiful but right now, she looks crazy and Rezen doesn’t want to make any physical contact with her for the time being

“We can talk but stay at least five meters away from me” Rezen said while retreating causing Macy’s anger to flare

Why is she being treated like some sort of virus?

The pressure from a 6th fusion rank mage starts to emit by her but Rezen was fast into action

The Token of Gratitude from the Preston Family suddenly appeared on his palm as if it was a shield

Seeing that token, Macy was forced to calm down. She already knew how ‘weird’, ‘peculiar’, and ‘bizarre’ Rezen is. If she stoop down to his level then she would just lose her mind

“Do you remember the ores you gave me? I need a large number of them! Those crazy researchers wouldn’t stop pestering me from day to night! They want more of those ores for research purposes and also to manufacture weapons!”

In this world, there are treasures called Mystic Items. However, these items can only be used by mages at the 7th rank

Of course, it’s not like those below that rank cannot use them. However, the prerequisite is that the Mystic Items were ‘charged’ by the power of the 7th rank mages

The scroll called Fairy’s Assistance Scroll is a Mystic Item. These mystic items can range from weak items that can’t even defeat a 6th fusion rank mage to overpowered ones that could defeat 7th rank mages

It’s just that, mages below the 7th rank can only rely on magic circles. That’s their only way of using magic

Since Mystic Items require the use of magic to activate, 6th fusion rank mages and below cannot use them

There is the alternative Armament Master path but the weapons they created are connected to their souls or more accurately, they split a part of their soul and imbue it into their weapons

Once they die, their armaments could only be used a few times before they become useless

The armaments of Armament Master are considered a pseudo-Mystic Item. The only reason why Armament Masters can use those items was the transformation that happened to the part of their soul that was split

However, what many modern people don’t know about the now rare Armament Master Path is that this path would make it thousands of times harder for them to reach the 7th rank. Breaking through would be almost impossible for them

Since the weapons that the mages at the 6th rank and below are not that useful if they are not Mystic Items, Macy’s words confused Rezen

Daydream is a behemoth when it comes to researching and developing various useful items. Why would they be seemingly obsessed with some ore not to mention… what ore are they talking about?

“I don’t recall giving you any ore. All of my products are spirit plants”

Macy’s eyes twitched, she took a deep breath before speaking again

“The metal p-potato! I meant the metal potato!”

Hearing that, Rezen’s eyes lit up. “Oh, why? What are the research findings?” Rezen asks

All he knows is that the metal potatoes are as hard as metal. Did the researchers of Daydream find something that the metal potatoes would be useful for?

“You have the ore– metal potatoes, don’t tell me you don’t know about their special properties?”
