Chapter 242 242: Sun Holy Water

Due to the magic beast's energy attack, Rezen stumbled. If not for the fact that he was wearing pants and long sleeves, he might have sustained multiple scratches on his body

Blood dripped down his shoulder but Rezen ignored the pain and hurriedly stood up to run

No matter how painful it was, he has to run away from this place if he still wants to survive!

"Grrrr!" The magic beast that used an energy attack was bitten by the Junior Rank wolf

Fortunately for it, its scales offered a great defense. If it was a magic beast with low defense, a large chunk of its flesh would have been bitten

The wolf felt like it was biting hard rocks as its prey's scales were really tough. But even then, with the help of the other wolves that also pounced at the prey, the Junior Rank wolf managed to breach the scales' defenses

Sensing the danger, the magic beast moved its feet. It thrashed around until the beastlings were thrown off before deciding to run away

Unfortunately for Rezen, the direction in which the magic beast is running was actually in his direction!

"Motherfucker, there are so many places to run into, why does it have to be where I am?" Rezen muttered, thinking that his luck hits rock bottom today

He couldn't possibly outrun this magic beast and he could only try to change his direction

Fortunately, it works as he and the magic beast run in different directions but in exchange, some of the beastlings changed their target

Normally, Rezen wouldn't be afraid of fighting some beastlings but the problem was that there are still two Junior Beasts nearby that he cannot defeat!

While holding his bleeding shoulder, Rezen took advantage of the nearby trees. He didn't run in a straight line to confuse the wolves

At first, he thought that he could use the trees to hide but he actually forgot one thing. The wolves have a great sense of smell!

Now that he was even bleeding, Rezen is like a candle in the middle of a dark room. To make matters worst, the magic beast with tentacles on its chin was even forced to change directions to dodge the pouncing Junior wolf

As such, Rezen looked around him while sweating heavily. He was trying to think of ways to utilize his environment when he saw what looks like a hole in a cave

This area of the forest was an area that Rezen has never traveled before in hopes to find treasures and he was glad to see that cave since the entrance was not large

In fact, the entrance was quite narrow and he thought of what he should do

Rezen changed direction and charged at that cave. Fortunately, it was close enough for him to enter before the Junior beasts could catch up to him

As soon as Rezen entered the cave, he injected mana into his earth-type Resonance Gem. He basically has the Resonance Gems of the nearby tribes, giving him more flexibility

Rezen waved his hand at the cave's entrance and a magic circle formed

"[Earth Wall!]!"

The ground shook a bit for a moment before an earthen wall formed, sealing the cave

However, the seal didn't last long. The Junior beast wolf was slammed at the wall, cracking it as a result

Seeing this, Rezen panicked a bit before he went deeper into the cave while creating more earthen walls

Unfortunately, the cave's path was actually downwards. The deeper Rezen entered the cave, the higher the distance between the ceiling and the floor

If this goes on, his spell wouldn't be able to completely block the path. He could only hope that the magic beast wouldn't enter deeper

However, since Rezen could still hear the roars of these magic beasts, he continue running without rest

The deeper Rezen went, the darker the area has become since sunlight was unable to penetrate the cave

The cave continues to shake. It seems like the fighting magic beasts are also heading deeper into the cave

Rezen's feet didn't stop moving and after some time, he encountered several forks in the road much to his relief

With this many choices, unless the universe itself wanted Rezen to die, the magic beasts wouldn't accidentally choose the same path that he would take

To further ensure that wouldn't happen, Rezen chose the path the furthest from him, and to his relief, he stopped hearing the sounds that the magic beasts have caused

"Phew... I'm temporarily safe but I'm now inside an unknown cave. Hmm... based on the novels I read before, isn't this a perfect setting to encounter great treasures?"

"Nah, no way, look at how bad my luck was today. It's already great that I even found vismian grass today"

Rezen shook the unnecessary thoughts inside his head and that is when Ivy's magnetic and emotionless voice entered his mind

For a moment, Rezen stopped running as he blinked his eyes repeatedly. "For real? I'm that lucky?" He muttered in disbelief

One of the most useful but also rare treasures is precisely the Sun Holy Water! It was one of the best when it comes to cleansing a mage's body

Of course, just like others, the Sun Holy Water also depending on the quality could be effective only on mages at the low cycle, mid-cycle, high-cycle of the Junior Rank, and even above that rank

Still, Rezen only needs Sun Holy Water of the lowest quality since he is still an apprentice mage!

"Ivy, was I hallucinating or there was really a magic formation earlier?" Rezen asked

"Destroy the magic formation? Considering that this formation could ward off magic beasts, is it even possible for me to destroy it?" Rezen smiled bitterly

He thought that his wanted treasure would fall into his hands but it seems like that wouldn't be possible

Rezen was dejected before Ivy gave him hope

"Even apprentice mages could destroy the formation. It was designed so that even the weakest magic could destroy it"

Rezen's eyes immediately lit up and he excitedly casts a stream spell on the magic formation. Just as Ivy said, the formation was easy to be destroyed
