Chapter 297 297: Admission Test

No matter who stared at Treen's face right now they will see that he was extremely satisfied with how the staff dealt with this matter. He didn't even hide his devious smile and that made the aspiring students think that Treen acted the way he did purposely

In their eyes, if Treen was such an important person then he should have shown that in the first place. What's with him purposely wearing clothes and using a flying stick that is lower in quality compared to the ones that the aspiring students use

Since this is a second-rate academy those that have the right to take the admission test mostly came from influential and rich families of the people living inside the outer walls

It's not that the academy only catered to the rich and powerful but this academy has a higher standard than third-rate and below academies

A poor mage might be more talented compared to the Young Master of a rich family but the former would still lose if we only view the progress between the two

The only thing that the poor mage can rely on was their own raw talent but no matter how talented a mage is if they don't have any resources and great instructors they would still fall behind the rich Young Masters

This is like asking Person A to build a billion-dollar company from scratch while asking Person B to do the same while giving him a large capital

As such, most of the mages that reached the standards of the academy mostly came from rich families and because of their upbringing, most of them look down on poor people. This is evident by how they previously treated Rezen and Treen

"I see then I expect that my potential schoolmates will take care of me and my bestfriend in the future" Treen said as he wrapped his arm around Rezen's shoulder while giving him a bright smile

Rezen must say that although Treen was nothing but an anomaly this man treats him great. He purposely said those words so that the others also wouldn't look down and bully Rezen or at least do that while he was present

"Of course, of course! Everyone would treat Sir and his friend with utmost care and respect. That is the treatment that someone possessing the Headmaster's token should rightfully have" the staff said while glaring at the examinees as if he was threatening them to agree

"You are very good at your job. Let's see if I can get you promoted" Treen said while patting the staff's shoulder and Rezen almost facepalmed himself

'At least say that you'll put in a good word to the higher-ups instead of directly saying that you'll try to get him promoted!' Rezen complained in his head

Treen just like most tribal people really don't know the art of bullshitting that cultured people use to say what they want to say in a roundabout manner

"Alright, I must see my honey now. Good luck, Rezen!"

With that, Treen rode his flying stick and entered the academy as he already misses his sugar mommy

Thanks to the spectacle that Treen created Rezen successfully cuts in line without anyone badmouthing him or at least in a way that he and the academy staff would hear. They just decided to badmouth him in their minds

Rezen smoothly registered and he was given a token with the number "69" on it before he received permission to enter the academy

The token also has a built-in function that pointed him to where he has to go for the admission test and he naturally followed its instructions

——

"This... it's way bigger than a football stadium on earth" Rezen muttered while staring at a giant construct in front of him which was one of the training facilities of Trsyt Academy

The Savage Beast Realm is much bigger than the Earth realm. As such, even though the City of Hope is only a City it was already as big as an entire country back on earth

Even just one second-rate academy is already this big. Just how big is the entire city?

It would be a lie if Rezen were to say that he was not at least a bit intimidated but he is someone that has a nerve of steel and he took a deep breath before walking again

"This training facility is humongous but... why is it pink?" Rezen asked himself as the building's walls were pink in color. It even has heart designs which was the symbol of Trsyt Academy

"Is the Headmaster a hopeless romantic?"

All signs were pointing in that direction but Rezen just shook his head, there is still a more important matter at hand

After Rezen entered the building he was guided to the exam area and the area reminded him of the gladiator arena of the ancient times

The area was circular in shape with chairs on different elevations and the middle part was an empty space where the other participants could be seen

"At least this place's design was more normal" Rezen commented after seeing that the arena was white and beige in color and not the same as the glaring pink color of the building's walls

Just like the others, Rezen went down and waited. Fortunately, the wait was not that long and soon white feathers suddenly appeared on a platform connected to the arena

These feathers condensed and from them materializes a middle-aged mage. Just like most mages she was wearing a mage robe while holding a wand with a pair of wings on the tip

As soon as she appeared the participants shut their mouths. None of them could sense her cultivation rank and that only mean two things

The first one is that she has a technique or item that could hide her cultivation level but considering that this is the admission test of Trsyt Academy the second reason is more probable

She should have a cultivation rank much higher than the aspiring students. That means that she is strong!

"From what I know Tryst Academy has Assistant Instructors and Instructors. The Assistant has to be at the peak of the Junior Rank. Meaning, they should be at the 9th cycle. As for the Instructors, all of them are at the Senior Mage rank with the majority of them at a low cycle"

Low cycle Senior Mages and high-cycle Senior Mages might be at the same cultivation realm but their strength was world's apart

A high-cycle Senior Mage could easily kill thousands of low cycle Senior Mages with one move!

Most influential and rich families living inside the outer walls only have Senior Mages as their strongest mages yet in this academy mid cycle and even a high cycle Senior Mages teach the students

Of course, the basics are taught by Assistant Instructors, the more complex knowledge is taught by low cycle Instructors, and the most complex knowledge is taught by mid and high cycle Senior Mages

That is one of the reasons why Trsyt Academy is a second-rate Academy and many mages wants to be its student!

The Instructor scanned all the examinees and her eyes landed on Rezen. He doesn't know why but Rezen felt like the Instructor looked at him longer than when she looked at other students

The Instructor has no need to say or do much to catch the attention of the examinees and she started speaking

"Talent, resources, teachers, and luck. These four are needed for a mage to grow. In this academy, to some extent, you will receive all of them. However, there is something that even a great academy cannot easily give to its students. Does any of you know what that is?" The Instructor asks them and the examinees were confused which was not out of expectation

They want to be admitted to famous academies precisely because they want to receive all of the things that the Instructor mentioned. As such, they were confused at the Instructor's question but that wasn't for long

Hmm...

The air vibrates as a formless pressure spreads around

"Ahhkk!"

"W-what's this!"

"S-so heavy!"

The examinees mostly reacted negatively to this sudden pressure that the Instructor was releasing against them. It felt like someone puts a boulder on their back and they have to carry it

"The something that I am speaking about is none other than willpower! No matter how talented or how many resources a mage has it would be useless if they don't have strong willpower. Whether it be Body Mages, Spirit Mages, and Deviant Mages, all mages experience pain when we are advancing to the next cycle"

"If you can't handle the pain of advancing then no matter how fast you cultivate it would be for nothing, you will either die or fail. Tryst Academy does not accept students with feeble willpower. This is the first test. All of you must endure the pressure I am releasing to pass!"
