"Why do you think the Instructors had us wear these bracelets while asking us to use our flying sticks to travel from one class to another?" Rezen asked a theoretical question that causes Theon to knit his brows in confusion

When it comes to life experiences, the classmates of Rezen don't even come close to him. They might be smart in their own ways but there are still things that a person will have only when they experienced a lot

"Most mages, I believe including all of us simply inject our mana into our flying sticks to help us fly. Depending on the intent we have, we could take a left, right, forward, backward, and even diagonal turn. Flying was so easy that any mage that can use mana could use a flying stick"

"However, that's only on a surface level. If we want to be really good at flying then we will need better control of our mana and Magic itself. The bracelets are limiters, they limit us from using raw power to achieve things that we want, destroying the crystal is the challenge while using our flying sticks is one of the hidden lessons on how we could succeed on the challenge"

"Since we can't use the usual amount of mana that we have nor can we control our mana in a raw way and expect a great performance, practicing our flying skills with all these limitations might be the key to success"

This was just Rezen's theory but he thinks that it was pretty plausible. If the academy really operates for a reason then the flying challenge might not be implemented for no reason

It might possibly be one of the keys to destroying the crystals using the limited power that the students can muster

Rezen does not have to say much. As long as he mentions the key point, a genius like Theon will understand his intent

Realization dawn upon Theon's face and he nodded his head in understanding. "You're right, I think of flying using our flying stick as something normal but I really didn't think much about it. But now that you mentioned it, training our control using this method is a wise choice. Not to mention, flying experts don't only rely on instincts, they also possess wisdom. They understand magic and implemented what they know to themselves while also taking the environment as a factor. Rezen, you're a genius. I appreciate your help. I'll make sure to pay you back"

Training with the flying stick might look like something that has anything nothing to do with wisdom but that was not true. If one has enough wisdom about magic, they will know how to best manipulate their mana and magic which was necessary in using a flying stick

After obtaining enlightenment, Theon went on his way to train by himself. He didn't walk but instead use his flying stick to go to his destination. He was already training himself in a way that Rezen pointed out

As someone that suggested it, Rezen naturally also used his flying stick to return to the villa. There's enough space in the villa and there were also some trees. Rezen can use them for his training

Rezen retrieved his flying stick and he rode on it. This time, he was not simply injecting his mana into the main magic inscriptions

Cleverness can only take him so far and at the end of the day, he still has to learn how to fly fast despite the bracelet's limitations

As Rezen focused on studying earlier, the way his mana flowed inside him was smoother than before. This also means that he can muster more mana effectively with less effort than before. This greatly affected his flying speed

While he was still not as fast as when he was injecting his mana directly into the main magic inscriptions and letting the flying stick do the work, he was already faster than the first time when he was only able to move for less than a meter

Rezen recalled the things he read and also changed the way his mana flowed regularly in the hopes of finding the mana circulation technique that is the best for him

———

It took almost an hour before Rezen can see the villa again all because he was training on his way back.

As soon as he returned, he only said a simple "Hi" to Treen before locking himself up inside his bedroom to continue reading

He places the books of magic he got from the class into his spatial ring and he immediately went into full studying mode

This time, he consumed the raw mutated Hyperfocus Basil instead of just drinking its juice. Once more, all distractions were thrown at the back of his head and he forgot everything around him

Seconds, minutes, and hours passed with Rezen constantly consuming the Hyperfocus Basil while studying. What he lacks now is knowledge and focusing too much on practical training is not that effective. As much, he planned on spending most of his time reading and when he think he learned something, he would start training again just to read again after

It was to the point that even after the next day arrives, Rezen didn't even notice it as he was too engrossed in studying

Knock knock!

Rezen didn't hear the knocking sounds, his face still buried in his books

Knock knock!

Knock knock!

The knocking sounds became louder and more frequent, irritating a certain snake that slithered its way into Rezen's shoulder without him noticing it

The little snake; Belazark uses its tail to slap Rezen's face to bring him back to it senses

"Master! Your friend has been knocking on the door for ages! Wake up, it's annoying! He ruined my sleep!" Belazark said, feeling unpleasant that his sleep was interrupted

His interruption returned Rezen's mind to reality and he frowned. "How about instead of being lazy as usual, you go cultivate? At this point, you're just wasting my resource!" Rezen said with a sneer before grabbing the snake and throwing him away from his shoulder

This little bastard is just too lazy that Rezen starts to think that he shouldn't even waste resources on it anymore

Knock knock!

This time, Rezen finally heard the knocking sounds and he get up to open the door

"Rezen, wooh! I thought something bad happened to you! I was about to destroy your door!" Treen said with a sigh of relief

"I was just busy. What's up? Do you need something?" Rezen asked. While Treen might be tactless in many areas, he is still someone that wouldn't aggressively knock on your door if something's not up. There should be a reason why he was this insistent on talking to Rezen

"What do you mean do I need something? We are almost late for the class! Wait! Don't tell me you actually didn't sleep? Look at that big eye bags! You look horrible!"

At that, Rezen was surprised. It was actually the next day already? It didn't feel that long!

It seems like he was really too engrossed with studying to not notice the passing of time and now that he realized how much time has passed, his stomach can't help but growl

"Thank you, I didn't realize that it was already this late. I'll just fix myself and then we could go to the class after"

"Alright! I know that you are hardworking and talented but don't do it too much! Pay attention to your health!"

Rezen closes his door and he retrieved a small glass tube containing a green liquid inside. This was his own concoction of Nutrition Liquid that can satiate his hunger with little amount of impurities since he created them using the Spirit Plants that grew on his farm

As soon as he drank the Nutrition Liquid, his sense of hunger was immediately satiated as if he didn't eat for an entire night. In fact, he even felt really full as if his body was brimming with nutrients

Moments like this made Rezen realize why Nutrition Liquids are popular amongst mages not just because they possessed lower amounts of impurities compared to regular food. When a mage is in a hurry or was focusing too much on their studies, drinking a Nutrition Liquid is necessary to not waste any time

After grabbing his things and storing them inside his spatial ring, Rezen went out of his room so that he and Treen could go to their class

Normally, they would use their flying sticks to reach their destination faster but because of the limiters, they cannot do that

They can only travel by foot while running. Normal humans might ran out of air after just a few minutes of running but not mages like them

They have enough energy to run full speed for a whole hour without breaking much sweat even though they control little amount of their mana

They are essentially superhumans already that cannot be judged using a normal human's standards
