Chapter 9: Hunters test Part - 2

Chapter 9: Hunters test Part - 2

Erik with a nervous look and cold sweat was running down his forehead. It had been a minute since the black-toothed wolves had surrounded him.

"Grrrrr...!"

"Grrrrrr...!"

"Roar!"

The black-toothed wolf monsters began to move around him, surrounding him, lest he should escape.

'Shit!'

He is very nervous, his hands are full of sweat due to his nerves, and he does not know what to do. Erik gripped with strength and with his attention on the black-toothed wolves.

He is in a complicated situation, and I could not do anything rash, because the numerical disadvantage was obvious: five wolves alone against him.

It would be unwise and stupid to confront them head-on, especially considering their lack of experience.

'What should I do, how do I defeat these monsters?'

Erik felt himself getting more and more nervous the more he thought about what to do, he started backing up toward a nearby tree, looking to take advantage of the length of the spear to defend himself and attack effectively, at least he hoped so.

However, when he took the sixth step backward...

Smash!

One of the monsters lunged towards him with two swift movements and leaped towards his exposed neck, noticing the subtle movements Erik was making.

"Roar!"

".... Damn it!" nove(l)bi(n.)com

A curse escaped his lips as he saw the monster heading towards him, baring its sharp black teeth.

Plaf.

Panicking, he stumbled over his own feet and fell into a sitting position, watching the monster pass closely over his head.

The black-toothed wolf, realizing his attack had missed, failed to stop in mid-air and crashed violently into the tree behind Erik.

Stab!

When the black-toothed wolf monster's fangs impacted the trunk, a crack instantly formed in the hard bark as it shook violently.

Erik quickly got up and started running, forgetting that there were more monsters with him.

The second black-toothed wolf wasted no time and pounced, moving quickly, and in the blink of an eye, it was in front of him, launching an attack with its claws.

"Roar!"

"Fuck!"

He jumped to the side, somersaulted, and narrowly dodged the attack. Erik quickly scrambled to his feet and took cover behind a tree.

Stab! Stab!

The tree covering them shook violently as the two monsters attacked.

"Haa... haa... I'm alive!"

Erik was breathing heavily, despite not having made much movement. Due to nerves, or because his stats were too low?

It is obvious that it is the first one that is due to nerves that he is so agitated because if it was due to his low stats, he would not have been able to run for four the night before.

He peered out of the corner of his eye up the tree and saw that the two wolves were pinned to the hard bark.

Now was the chance to strike back!

"Haaaaaa!"

With a shout, he charged at them splitting their heads apart, and blood began to splatter staining his face.

"Haa... Shit!"

Erik ignores the notification windows, his hands are shaking and the expression on his face is complicated.

The monster in front of him vanished from existence only leaving his mana stone behind.

'But how did he disappear out of nowhere'.

He still finds it hard to believe what he saw, he doesn't understand why that happened, but he has a feeling that he had something to do with it. The problem is that he doesn't know what caused the monster to disappear.

While he was absorbed in his thoughts...

HOWL!

He heard a loud howl, it echoed.

Erik was abruptly pulled out of his thoughts and hurriedly took a stance full of openings, besides he knew nothing about spear handling.

All he did was stab and swing in a rough and tumble manner, there was nothing technical about it.

Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise, Noise....

"... Huh?"

Erik's expression became rigid, he didn't understand what was happening at that moment.

The sounds among the bushes became louder and louder. From his spine, an ominous feeling began to spread throughout his body.

"Something...

"Something is very wrong."

Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr, Grrrr.

The sound of grunting echoed in all directions.

"... Damn it!"

Without a second thought, he quickly stowed the spear in his inventory and, without hesitation, began to run.

"Woof, woof!"

"Woof, woof!"

The black-toothed wolves ran after him.

As he ran, he plotted a strategy to defeat the monsters one by one.

Erik took a quick glance back and saw the horde of black-toothed wolves, eagerly trying to catch him to feast on him.

"GRrrrr!!!"

"GRRAaagh!"

"GRRAaaagh!"

Two of the nearest black-toothed wolves lunged at him, trying to knock him down.

However, Erik managed to anticipate and, in a desperate move, grabbed hold of a tree branch. Most of the monsters passed him by, except for one that managed to stop in time.

Quickly, he unsheathed the spear from his inventory and lunged towards the one monster still below him.

He drove the spear into its head, defeating one of the many that remained. The remaining black-toothed wolves began to retreat.

'With this method, I'll be able to finish them all off, but the problem is that I don't know if I can hold out that long.'

Erik reflected as he ran again, not sure if it would work, but it was this or die.

With this in mind, he continued running through the southern part of the forest, implementing the same tactic.

Every time a monster pounced on him, he would climb up a tree branch and thrust the spear into the monster's head below.

He repeated this tactic over and over again and, little by little, the monsters began to dwindle.

Although everything went well on most occasions, on one occasion the tree branch broke and he was seriously injured, receiving several attacks from the black-toothed wolves.

However, thanks to his 'Savage Regeneration' ability, the wounds were healing. Still, the loss of energy was evident; he even came close to losing consciousness on several occasions.

After the last black-toothed wolf fell lifeless.

"Haaa... Haaa... Haaa... haaa..."

Erik fell exhausted on the ground with his body full of blood and wounds, he was even missing some fingers and had many parts where flesh and skin were missing that had been torn off.

Tti-ring.
