Chapter 156: Drag you down with me!

Yun Jhin felt his surroundings starting to shake just as if he was swimming underwater and he remained out of oxygen, it felt just like he was on a boat under a big storm.

That meant he was going on to the next test!

Yun Jhin felt his lungs burning as he looked down at his chest and saw a hand going through it, he felt his head explode as he looked up and saw a familiar face!

It was the face of his reincarnation, number 69!

A woman with a jade-like countenance was currently keeping her hand inside Yun Jhin's chest storming his inner ki pathways with her own ki and destroying his meridians.

Yun Jhin coughed a mouthful of blood as he remembered the situation, in this current reincarnation he had been put in the position of one of the concubines he had to kill to take their position and curry favor with a king for cultivation resources.

Yun Jhin was quite shameless as a female, regarding his body, he had used it to gain whatever favors he could along with cultivation resources, when he had no more uses for the male in question he would annihilate him and absorb his vital yang energy dry.

Yun Jhin was currently in the body of the head concubine of the king in question, he had been ambushed on the way back to the capital by his former reincarnation and fought her way towards a cliff where she finally lost the battle and had her chest pierced into defeat.

Yun Jhin's current cultivation was around the Emperor's realm but it was slowly going down at a visible pace, his former reincarnation was laughing gleefully as her eyes light up seeing the blood flowing down from Yun Jhin's chest like a waterfall. It was obvious she was a poisonous snake ready to end the job.

Yun Jhin could feel his life slipping through his fingers as he grasped the arm that was stuck in his chest and his eyes turned a deep shade of red, he died previously but that part of the test could still be considered to be done, that meant that as long as he killed his former reincarnation, even in a suicidal fashion, he would have completed the test!

Seeing the crazed look on Yun Jhin's face made his former reincarnation immediately try to retract her arm from Yun Jhin's chest, seeing that he was going to do something rather crazy in this situation, after all, he was one step away from death and his former reincarnation knew that cultivators would take extreme actions at this point if they could see no point of breakthrough or escape.

Yun Jhin's body started to glow a deep red as blood flowed from his red eyes, his former reincarnation tried to move backward but her arm was stuck inside Yun Jhin's body!

Yun Jhin contracted his muscles and inner organs trapping his former reincarnation arm inside his body, even though doing this injured him to the brink of death he could still do something here!

Yun Jhin took a few steps backward as he free-fell down the cliff along with his former reincarnation who he forced to follow him!

His former reincarnation used her ability to levitate as she was below the Emperor's realm and she couldn't fly. Technically Yun Jhin shouldn't have been able to kill the main concubine this easily in his former life, but he poisoned her beforehand and still had an epic fight with her before she was pushed to the cliff where she was afterward thrown off.

In the former situation, there was no way for the concubine to purge the poison and escape her fate, even now Yun Jhin could only purge the poison but not reverse the inner injuries that the body got, but he could force the body beyond its limits and take down his former reincarnation with him!

Yun Jhin's body was already unstable, the faster he fell the more he felt his muscles starting to unclench, and if that happened his former reincarnation's arm would be free and she could glide away and free!

Yun Jhin looked directly at his former reincarnation's eyes as he mouthed:

"Detonate..."

Yun Jhin's body exploded into a bunch of gore that disappeared into ashes as the aftermath energy from the explosion reached it, the explosion severed his former reincarnations arm and blinded both of her eyes as she started to fall down the cliff at a high speed.

Yun Jhin's soul was absorbed into the pocket space where darkness prevailed as his head started to hurt again, his former reincarnation didn't die instantly the moment the body he inhabited exploded, after all, the explosion was rather weak because the body wasn't at its full strength and cultivation.

However, the proximity and Yun Jhin's special self-destructing technique meant that she would have surely died anyway!

Especially because she couldn't glide anymore and the moment she hit the ground below the cliff she would have broken every bone in her body...

Yun Jhin could understand what this test was doing right now, it seemed that he was supposed to destroy the wills of his former reincarnations that remained in his memories.

He had control of the memory core as the latest reincarnation, and the strongest to boot, but that didn't mean the former wills accepted that, they were only biding their time until Yun Jhin's soul was weakened enough so they could take over it, this was a major problem with most reincarnated ones, but this problem didn't really appear because most reincarnated persons wouldn't reach the staggering amount of reincarnations that Yun Jhin achieved.

Yun Jhin had so many different personalities and wills inside of him that he couldn't count them anymore, all of them were sealed in the memories of his former lives and his current will was the strongest, they were all basically peasants while the current will was the Emperor.

It would be a lie to say if Yun Jhin wasn't bothered by the fact that he had so many different wills inside him, but the problem was that he couldn't absorb them by himself, his main soul would get polluted by their emotions and inner schemes, but it seemed this trial was helping him with this problem!

When his head hurt as if it felt like it was splitting and his brain was gushing hotly through his ears, it meant that one of the memory cores of his former lives was being separated then purged from the will before being reinserted into his soul.

Yun Jhin wasn't sure how this was done, he didn't have such a high understanding of souls, this was a realm that Yun Jhin thought that he could reach after he broke through the limits of the God Realm.

It seems Hell's will was really special considering this inheritance trial was held by it.

Suddenly a boundless genderless voice exploded into his head:

"Aren't you a smart outsider?"

Yun Jhin knew that after he finished two trials successfully, Hell's will had finally decided to descend upon him.

Yun Jhin could feel an immense pressure upon his soul, which meant even at his peak he wouldn't be able to do anything to this willpower fragment that entered him!

Hell's will was surely above the God Realm!

A snort could be heard coming from inside his head indicating that the willpower was getting tired of his monologuing:

"Oh great Hellish willpower, why have you graced me with your presence?"

A burst of laughter could be heard in his head as the voice told him:

"Enough bootlicking Yun Jhin, I know you since you have first put your foot in hell in your 627th reincarnation, you don't have to sugarcoat your words around me boy!"

"I just descended upon you because you have finally understood what are you supposed to do within this test, to be honest with you I would like you to be the one that inherited my power, after all, you would be the perfect host, both physically and mentally."

Yun Jhin understood what Hell's willpower meant, he was both decisive and could be considered an evil son of a bitch from most of the people's existence, even those that were on his side.

So he could be considered the perfect host for hell's inheritance huh?

Yun Jhin's eyes started to flicker as he thought about something but then the voice boomed in his head again:

"Thinking of sabotaging your competition? I like it but I can't help you!"

"But I can do you a favor and tell you the results of the other participants... you are in the last place currently, the others had found way quicker how to deal with their former reincarnations, you were the slowest because you are too paranoid and too careful."

Yun Jhin sighed, this wasn't something that could be helped... after all, this is the paranoia that he had cultivated over thousands of reincarnations, it couldn't just go and leave him right now, even if he wanted to abandon it for the test. It was something that was now stuck in his soul. It wasn't that he didn't want to be a bit more daring but he feared failure too much, after all, he failed so many times already!

It did build his character but it also made him disgusted with failure, it made him feel that he could do better and that he could easily get over those problems if he could.. thus he dwelled in paranoia.

"I'm actually quite disappointed in you, you have no faults and you are an evil being of high potential... a perfect host, but you aren't chaotic enough, hell is the establishment that puts chaos and survival in the first place, maybe this inheritance isn't for you..."

The voice faded away as Yun Jhin remained alone in the dark again... he could see the light at the end of the tunnel which meant he was being sent head-first into another test!
