Mu Cidian bought some raw food to bring home.
Before returning home, he specifically instructed his mother to go downstairs and buy him a bottle of special soy sauce, claiming he would cook soy-flavored duck for her that night.
Only after making sure his mother had left did he go inside, stripping off his dirty clothes, quickly cleaning the stains on his body, and changing into another clean outfit. By the time he emerged, his mother had already returned.
She didn’t notice anything unusual about Mu Cidian and watched as he went into the kitchen.

“I know, I know.” Wan Quan wiped away her tears, then was struck by a thought, “Cidian, how did your job search go today?”
“Not bad,” replied Mu Cidian casually.
“Did you find a stable job?”
“Probation period first.”
“How’s the salary?”
“Around 10,000 during the probation period.”
“After probation, it should go up to 20,000 or 30,000, right?”
“Approximately,” Mu Cidian nodded.
“Although not much, but for our current situation, it’s good enough.” Wan Quan heaved a sigh of relief.

“Cidian, I knew you would pull through. Our life will not be bad! We’ve finally seen the light at the end of the tunnel!” Wan Quan was slightly excited.
Mu Cidian still didn’t say much. He took out 1000 yuan from his pocket and gave it to his mother, “This is the salary advanced by the company, you take half for now, see what else needs to be bought for the house.”
Wan Quan stared at the 1000 yuan in front of her with ecstasy, gratefully took it and said, “Okay, okay.”
But then remembered something, “I still owe 50,000.”

After dinner, Mu Cidian cleaned up the dishes and tidied up the kitchen.
After finishing, he quietly tidied up all the rooms in the house, including his mother’s room.
Though he couldn’t provide a lavish lifestyle for his mother now, he could try to make her more comfortable. His mother was used to a comfortable environment and had never done these chores. Even though they had fallen to this low point now, deep down, she still wished to be served by others.

Mu Cidian officially started work on his first day.
He was originally supposed to work in the private room with Xiao Yiming, but a server in a VIP room fell ill suddenly and couldn’t make it. The nightclub manager randomly picked someone to replace him and Mu Cidian happened to be passing by. It wasn’t specifically him being extra targeted; he just happened to be called in halfway.
The KTV was large with many servers, so the manager likely didn’t know it was Mu Cidian’s first day at work. Mu Cidian didn’t dare to refuse, as his position was a bit precarious and he was afraid he might lose his job.
The manager gave him a few simple instructions, “This is a VIP room for the top-tier clients in Jin City. Do your own work well, but also remember, no matter what insult you might suffer inside the room, you can’t fight back, you can only endure. If there really is a problem, as long as you perform well, we’ll make it up to you afterwards.”
“Yes.”
“Go to work now, the customers will arrive in half an hour.”
“Yes.”
Mu Cidian went to the VIP room.
He had been there before, but it was too long ago and the décor had probably changed many times, making it completely different from his memories.
He and three other servers quickly prepared the drinks and snacks the customers had ordered.

“As long as there’s a sale, it’s all good. You’re not selling your body or your kidney, why do you expect so much?”
“If the sales are good, I might consider selling...” The server said jokingly.
“Look at you. If a rich woman liked your appearance, with the number of guys here, you wouldn’t have to be a server.”
“Can’t I dream?!” The server retorted displeased.
The servers, who are mostly young, seem to have a good relationship despite trading barbs.
They were chatting happily when suddenly,
The lobby manager appeared.
Everyone immediately became extremely respectful,
Bowing their heads in unison, they said, “Welcome.”
The two women behind the lobby manager entered.
The servers didn’t get a good look at the guests but knew they were females.
They were quietly pleased because women at such venues are usually more generous than men, who have a clear objective in their head.
A server respectfully opened the room door for the guests.

The lobby manager reminded them, “Serve them well.”
“Yes.”

Did the four servers enter.
Inside the slightly dim private room,
Two women were chatting.
Of the four servers, two were pouring drinks, one was helping pick songs, and one was standing by to assist with anything needed.
Mu Cidian was one of those pouring drinks.
They had to crouch down to pour drinks for the guests.

Filling their glasses to the brim.
As soon as he did, a pair of clean, slender hands took the glass from him, grabbed another one, and said to her companion, “Here, Lina. Now that we’re here, we’ll drink until we drop tonight.”
