Chapter 7 - Wifey

"What is the meaning of this?" Yu Huiyin took a deep breath to calm herself down as she looked at Xie Jingyu. She thought that he might have given her the wrong contract, but upon closer inspection, she saw her name printed on the contract.

"It is the contract you just signed, wifey," Xie Jingyu said with a smile on his face, his words causing Yu Huiyin to almost faint in shock and anger.

"You!" she exclaimed and tried to stand up, but the moment she rose to her feet, everything spun around her, she was still affected by the anesthetic, and her body was weak after being hit by a bullet.

Xie Jingyue saw her stagger as she stood up, and his face, which was filled with smugness, instantly turned severe, as he rushed to her side and supported her.

But unexpectedly, she flung his arms away, her eyes were ablaze with anger, and she was trembling.

"Dearest, don't worry, I'll never force you to do anything you don't want to," Xie Jingyu said as he observed her nervously. "I will be a responsible husband. As long as we are married, I will be faithful to you, and I will not find a mistress outside.

"You need a job, and I need a wife to settle the old man at home, this is perfect. I will even give you a large amount of money when we divorce so you can live life pleasantly later on as well."

This was Xie Jingyu's real thoughts. He had no ulterior motives. It had been many years that his grandfather had forced him to get married, but he had never found a woman his heart beats for.

Now that he had found one that intrigued him, he could use her as a shield, and at the same time, help her out.

Was it that bad to get married to him? He was the wealthiest and most handsome tycoon of the entire country!

"I am not interested in getting married," Yu Huiyin sneered, but Xie Jingyu just smiled at her. "You signed the papers," he said.

Feeling deeply regretful, Yu Huiyin tightly pursed her lips as she stood up from the bed, steadying herself on the wall by her side.

Seeing her so stubborn, a strange feeling welled up within Xie Jingyu's heart, but before he could grasp hold of it, it vanished.

"What am I supposed to tell my family?" Yu Huiyin asked, exasperated. She could not just get married like that.

"I will give you a second job," Xie Jingyu said after thinking a bit. "I will make you my assistant. I could make you my secretary, but I doubt you have much experience with that, and it's better to be an assistant as I can bring you around with me anywhere I go."

"You better pay a good salary, and no going back on your word. You cannot force me to do anything I do not want to do."

Yu Huiyin had lost all trust in this man. She had saved his life, but in return, she was forced to marry him. Was this something like a beauty offering himself to her out of gratitude? She would like to say so, but she remembered the conversation he had with his grandfather. Clearly, he was forced into marrying someone, and she was a good shield.

She realized that she did not have any other option than to go with the flow, and she slowly went to the windows to look down on the road beneath her. All the people seemed like ants as they were hurrying about in the streets.

Seeing that she had accepted the situation, Xie Jingyu felt victorious. He was suddenly in a good mood.

"You will have to remain at the hospital for a few days," he said.

"I can stay for the rest of today, but I have to return to work tomorrow. I am going to get a phone sent to you so that you can contact me at any time.

"When you are ready to be discharged from the hospital, we will go and get our wedding certificate. Tell your family that you have gotten a live-in caretaker job. That way, you will move in with me as soon as we get married."

Yu Huiyin was shocked to hear all the words he said. She was of the impression that he was a man of few words, but it seemed that she had been mistaken.

"I have no opinion," Yu Huiyin said as she returned to the bed, laid down, and turned her back to Xie Jingyu. Right now, she was not in the mood to see him. She was not pleased with him at all.

Guessing what was on her mind, a helpless grin appeared on the man's face. We have a long way ahead of us, little kitten, he thought to himself. We will see if you can continue to be so rejecting of me.

While Yu Huiyin was at the hospital, the bodyguard of Xie Jingyu did as he had been informed. He went to the home rented by Yu Huiyin and her family, and when he knocked on the door, it was instantly opened by a young boy who seemed to be a teenager still.

"Who are you?" the boy asked with a frown on his face.

"Miss Yu sent me," the bodyguard said. "She has gotten a temporary job with our master, and she will be staying at the office for a few days. She will come back as soon as she can, but the task is of utmost importance and cannot be delayed."

Yu Feihong looked at the bodyguard without hiding his suspicions, but he also knew that kidnappers would never make such an excuse. Had his sister really found a new job?
