Chapter 46 Demon's [III]
Due to the aura of the sword, the whole area was affected and the impending rain was forced to fall earlier. A downpour that wetted the three men's faces. New novel chapters are published on
Kevin's eyes grew cold. It was no longer as simple as a treasure hunt when his heart began beating in anxiety.
He made the feather move in for the kill. It whooshed towards Han Li at a speed he could never react. But a second later, they slowed down.
A shining red sword flashed in his gaze and before his very eyes. Like a dance of swordplay, the feathers were parried to the side. The feathers were as strong as steel or it would have been cut in two.
Kevin immediately looked back at where he threw the sword. It was no longer there.
It had reached back Han Li when he was speaking and hesitating. 'The Sword has the power to float by itself! And...why is it shining like that now? That swordplay. An Awakened Master of Swords? No! It seems better than that. But how is that possible?' Kevin was full of questions but he didn't rush.
'He is just an Awakened!'
He was still not at all afraid or even really worried. He only grew more excited. This was it, a fortune worth fighting for.
And with a little Awakened at that.
Han Li looked at him as the glowing sword lightened his calm face. Only someone who had a Life-Dao-related Spark could ever truly handle this sword.
And when it's sheathed and bathed with such a Spark, it will light up in the Spark's color.
But it won't help him fight head-on with an Evolved. With the sword's sharpness and his mastery of Sword arts that he had spent centuries honing, he could massacre the Awakened Stage cultivators even if they came at him in a horde.
But against an Evolution Stage. It was impossible to even stay alive for a minute.
Han Li smiled. But he didn't have to worry about the Raven guy anymore.
Just as Kevin was about to move towards him and attack from close range. He paused. Some blood started to leak from his mouth. And he fell back.
But unlike the other two powers that were solely advantageous, the Sword was different. If someone can steal it from him and make the signatures of his Sparks energy inside it vanish. He will immediately die.
That was the exact thing that happened when he died last time. He had never known such a weakness of his and that cost him his life. But this time, it will be different.
He then looked down at the two corpses leaking blood. Without any hesitation, he checked their pockets for loot and soon found a single Gu Worm in Kevin's hands. It was dead since the other part of it died inside Shan Shan's body.
Also, He stumbled upon a few Sacred Coins, but they amounted to too little to be cared for, worth less than 100.
Kevin was rarely out of his home and he wasn't the type to carry money.
He then checked Shan Shan and found some good money. Indeed, such people were much better. The petty old scammers always had a lot of money.
Then he thought about whether to bury the bodies. If the Power Birth level chief of the Raven Clan came and had a look, Han Li would be immediately caught since they all had powerful souls and could easily track others by remnant Energy.
Even though the sword made it so that his Energy wouldn't have leaked, there was nothing in being cautious.
He dragged their bodies through the mud and soon found a good location. Then, using the sword, he dug the ground for about an hour and buried both bodies in it. He was an expert in such things, so there were not even any clues left.
By the end of the whole ordeal, even the foliage couldn't stop the rain from falling inside. It was a heavy downpour and that made Han Li's whole body soaked.
But that also made the blood on the ground slowly spread out and vanish from sight.
"Uh... my clothes got dirty anyway." Han Li sighed. He mostly only had white clothes, that was an issue.
Nevertheless, with a smirk, he turned around and walked home. As he left the forest, the rain fell on him even harder. But he just casually walked. The ceremony would be held back anyway.
As for guilt in killing others?
Han Li had already gone over and discarded such useless thoughts in the five centuries of his previous life. If Kevin was a demon of sorts... Han Li was the Great Demon. A True demon who truly understood what it meant to be a demon.
Not some young boy who had the potential for Demonism; he was someone who had embraced that ideal long ago.
These people didn't even know yet what being one meant.
