116 Slice of Life
The 11th month was just at its head start. The sun was peaking its head from the dome of heaven at dusk. The land was awash in a yellow glow while the children were being scolded unwillingly back into their homes from their playgrounds.
The Southern Lust city seems to fall into a strange silence at this moment in time as the vendors all pack up their stuff. While inside the Starlight Zone, behind Han Li's home, a chicken clucked relentlessly as an irritated woman looked at it with frustration.
Who else could it be other than Li Yao?
She was irritated.
Very, very irritated.
She was seated in the doorway with an irritated expression.
This fucking chicken had trashed her entire backyard with its shit, and it was stinking everywhere. She could feel her anger often rising at its clucking noises, too.
She could almost smell the taste of some beautiful chicken soup, but Liyue was on the side, using a small bucket of water to clean their backyard.
"Uh, Yue'r, we will be out of all this trouble if we at least sell this thing away, right?" she asked with a very calm voice.
Her daughter shook her head.
"I know that you feel sympathy for its sibling, but that guy is already dead, and it's just a chicken..." Li Yao almost rolled her eyes at the stupidity. Did she really raise this stupid girl?
Liyue looked at her mom and seriously asked, "Mother, this chicken is doing no trouble to you, right? I am cleaning its waste, and I am the one raising it too? What is then the problem?"
Li Yao was stunned. That makes sense.
But how dare she talk back to her parent?
Cough.
No need to get stupid. Liyue had always been the one to look after her parent instead of the other way around anyway.
"Then Yue'er, won't you be eating other dead animals anyway when you eat meat? This is quite hypocritical, you know?" Liyue paused. "Brother Han also told me that..."
Blinking, Yue Li glanced at him. She didn't mind the training being normal for quite a while now. Han Li sat his own mother beside Li Yao gently and nodded. "Can't say I disagree, especially some wine that would just make you flabbergasted at their taste. It is quite some good stuff, honestly."
Yue Li felt her butt hurt at the touch of the ground and looked at him with a bit of anger. Not at the pain, but another fact.
Li Yao looked at her curiously and chuckled. "That on your neck looks quite new, Yue Li," she mocked.
Yue Li put her hand on her neck, hiding the hickey Han Li left on her. "What might you be talking about?"
She didn't actually mind what others thought at this point, but it was sweeter when no one knew or spoke much about their relationship—it was better left as a small secret between them, mother and son.
Han Li walked toward Liyue and said, "All three of you should rest today. Tomorrow will be the day you will all have your training back to normal difficulties again."
Blinking, Yue Li glanced at him. She didn't mind the training being normal for quite a while now. "So, little sis, it is time for us to have our time."
Liyue was stunned to find Han Li raising her in a princess carry and then letting her lie behind him like Yue Li was lying earlier.
"Let's go have a bath," he said and walked towards the bathroom. While Liyue's face blushed red.
Li Yao couldn't help but say, "So you and Liyue are now bathing partners?"
Han Li smirked. "You guys might underestimate my little Liyue, but you don't know how beautiful she looks without these pesky clothes. Have to enjoy that when I get the chance."
"Big brother..." Li Yao said with a laugh. "You better not go beyond that."
"Who said we haven't already?" Han Li asked with a shake of his head and walked into a bathroom, hiding the red face of his little fiancee.
Li Yao couldn't help but become curious, "Yue Li, do you really think they did that?"
"Hmm..." Yue Li grew thoughtful. "I don't know. He is quite lustful, so it is possible."
"Oh? Lustful, how lustful?"
"Yoe see, in the bed earlier..."
