Chapter 8: CYRUS CAMPBEL
"CYRUS!!", said Liam with solemn face, more like he was not the person who had uttered the words in first place.
When Cyrus met Liam's cold yet mocking eyes, he could not help but to sigh to himself slightly, he though, 'Why is this brute here now? It took me a lot of effort to escape from that family' but he could not utter those word as he was still recounting his steps in order to know where we might have gone wrong to be found so easily.
His train of thought was soon interrupted but Alicia's emotionless voice which resonated into Cyrus's ears as a symphony on a moonless night.
Alicia spoke slowly as she kept her eyes on Liam and said, "Liam Walker, I believe such tone is unnecessary if you happen to know Cyrus personally. Mind the way you articulate your words in the future."
Both Cyrus and Liam were left speechless by her words.
In all honesty, she had such an affect on most men when she spoke. Her frankness and calm voice could shake any man from his seat.
The coldness in her voice disappeared immediately once her gaze fell on Cyrus's frozen expression which stared at her fixedly. Alicia simply smiled lightly at his sudden expression and spoke to him perfunctorily.
She said, "Morning Cyrus, I think I'll have bran muffin and a chocolate milkshake today. How are you doing today by the way?"
The way Alicia spoke made Cyrus feel like she wanted to completely ignore the existence of the man who stood behind her, she spoke to him exactly the same way she had been speaking to him for more than a year. But this type of attitude would only make things hard for him, knowing very well how much Liam loved challenges, Alicia would be his next target indefinitely, although the man seemed to have an allergy towards women for some reason.
He could not imagine the predicament he had landed himself into by simply existing.
Before he could answer Alicia's order, Liam had walked towards Alicia as he held her hand slightly and said, "Make that two-bran muffins and a double expresso, warm water for the lady, thank you."
Liam could not contain the mischievous urge he had to bicker with Alicia even when she found any way to ignore his presence. Alicia only rolled her eyes subconsciously at Liam's behaviour while she kept her eyes on the hand which laid itself on her's carelessly.
she could not help but think to herself, 'what is wrong with this man? Does he have to make me angry every time we see each other?"
What Alicia didn't know was that Liam had been staring at her the entire time she changed her expressions while drowning in thoughts.
'Why does she keep thinking about everything I do so much?' Liam thought to himself.
He could not ascertain Alicia's thoughts about him at the moment.
