"Hello?"
As I was chopping down a tree, I was shocked by the voice of someone behind me. It was a distinctly male voice. I quickly turned around and looked at what originally appeared to be just a normal person in medieval-style clothes, however, as I looked at his head, I noticed some oddly-large and pointy ears.
"H-hello?" I responded.
"Do you know where we are?" He asked.
He was holding a very large hunting bow and had an almost-empty quiver of arrows on his back. He didn't look like a threat and in fact looked like he was struggling.
"I don't really know exactly where we are..."
"Oh." He sighed.
I took a breath before asking him the question I wanted to know.
"Are you an elf?"
He took a second to respond.
"Yes, I am an elf."
"Woah..."
"I guess you haven't met the other civilisations here."
"Other civilisations?"
"You're part of the New-Gen Human race, there have been several other races who have inhabited this place before all of you."
"I see."
"You don't need to worry, there aren't that many other civilisations, there are the elves, the beast people and the 'monsters' which is the name given to mummies and skeletons. All of the civilisations are human-like."
"What about the zombies?"
"The zombies are a separate phenomenon."
"What does that mean?"
"They aren't a part any population, they're more like an invasive species."
"So do you guys have problems fighting the zombies?"
"We all have to commit large armies to fight them as well, after all, we haven't exactly been here that long either."
'What do you mean?"
"From the information we have, the New-Gen Humans were transported here around a week ago, we are the oldest population and we have always inhabited this place for around a month."
"Oh... By the way, was there something you needed from me?"
"Well... I may have been banished from the main elven city..."
"Seriously? Why?"
"It's a long story, but it all had to do with some political issues and disrespect."
"Oh."
"Yeah... So I don't really have anywhere to live, do you mind if I stay with your city for now?"
"Well... I doubt us humans have any big cities at the moment, I'm literally living in a small wooden hut at the moment as well and I only have one friend with me."
"I see, well is it okay if I stay with you guys anyways?"
"I suppose so. I have been looking for more people to work with."
"That's great, I'll help wherever I can."
"By the way, what is your name?" I asked.
"Elrich."
"I'm William, so what can you do?" I asked.
"Well... my only talent is archery... even my archery skills aren't that great."
"Um, so can you hunt animals and stuff?"
"Yeah, I can definitely do that."
He walked off into the forest and searched for animals. I used this moment to have a look at my inventory and see what to make. At the moment, it would be quite difficult for us to all live in one hut, I'd likely have to build another one at this rate. My Builder Minion had finished building the first hut so I might as well get a second one on the way.

I had quite a large amount of resources anyways.
I crafted another wooden hut blueprint and handed it to my Builder Minion, after taking a look at it, it began construction of the second hut next to the first one that was already built. The hut was around the size of an average kitchen and had enough space to fit maybe one bed and a few pieces of furniture. It wasn't a great living space but it wasn't too bad either.
I decided to craft some more Scout Minions as well. Most of my other Scout Minions were either gathering resources or learning. I was getting to the point where I was struggling to control them all separately, I hadn't actually check the Advanced System Controls that I had unlocked last level-up so I observed it.

It was a better way of organising all my Minions, I had a little think and decided to split my Minions up.

It made it quite a bit easier to control and organise my Minions. I would be able to write more generalised code and issue orders to entire divisions at a time. I still had several unassigned Scout Minions so I chose some subjects for them to study.
I was gathering resources at quite a fast rate so I decided to assign half of the [Resource Division] to automatically sell their resources to the shop. I wanted to gather enough tokens to buy some better items at the shop. Suddenly, I heard a voice.
[The Apocalypse has increased in difficulty.]
What? Increased in difficulty?
Did that mean there were going to be stronger zombies?
I couldn't help but feel a cold sweat run down my spine.

The day was starting to wane and night was incoming once again. The second hut wouldn't finish construction until the next day, so this night, we would all have to stay in one hut. As Elrich returned, I introduced him to Rosie.
"So he's an elf who I met, apparently he was banished from his village."
"Ah, so that's it... um... okay." She replied.
"I'm Elrich, nice to meet you."
"Y-yeah, nice to meet you too."
I set up the campfire and began cooking some stew. Rosie added some vegetables and I put in some meat.
"I've got some spices if you want."
"Really?"
I was actually just wanting some spices. We know perfectly were able to make a delicious stew. We plopped all the ingredients in the stone crockpot and watched as the fire slowly cooked all the nourishment inside.
"By the way, William, did you hear that the difficulty has been increased?"
"Yeah, we should probably stay on high alert tonight."
We discussed several different things as the stew brewed in the crockpot. The smoke from the fire filled the air as we made preparations for the night.
