I sat back on the bed, and Chloe was looking at me with concern. She had never seen me this angry before. She had an apple in her hand, which she had been eating the whole time. After Raymond left and it was just Chloe and me in the room, she asked me, "Why didn't you agree to his offer? They could have helped us become stronger. Why didn't you join the alliance?"
"It wasn't an alliance. Gandalf was trying to create his own supreme government. He wanted to be an emperor, and if I had joined that alliance, I would have come under his influence."
"I don't understand how this was a scheme. Can you explain?"
"Well, he asked me to provide him with soldiers. A king would only provide soldiers to another king if he was under his influence or if he was afraid of him. I'm not afraid of anyone. He also sent his servant instead of coming himself. Raymond called himself a friend of the king, but he was just a servant. Gandalf is a very cruel king, and Raymond's actions showed me that."
"You were able to figure out so much from such a short conversation.."
I smiled and stood up, pacing around the room as I thought about all the things swirling in my mind. Eventually, I stepped outside, and Chloe followed me. The sun was setting, and the air was getting cooler.
In the distance, I saw Raymond on his horse, riding away with his soldiers. For a second, I considered letting him stay, but it would have been too dangerous for me and my soldiers to have a stranger in our camp when we weren't prepared.
"See, Chloe, I told him to go and gave him a message as well. But do you know that I also gave him a hidden message? Only his king will understand it."
"What message was that?" she asked.
"I didn't allow him to stay in this city, even though I know how hard it is to travel at night. This will tell his king that I don't trust him or his men, and he shouldn't send any more soldiers to my camp."
After the daily report from the minion manager, including the number of minions, which was the same as yesterday, and the work report, including the progress on the moat, tunnel, and half high tower construction, as well as the status of the outposts in the forest, Chloe and I headed back to my house. On the way, Chloe stumbled on a rock, which reminded me of the lack of proper paths and lighting in the city. I made a mental note to address these issues. When we got home, I sat down at my desk to review the reports and plan for the future.
I saw far in the distance; Raymond was on his horse, and he was going back with his soldier. For a second, I thought that I should let him stay but this was very dangerous for me and my soldier. I wasn't going to allow a stranger to stay at my camp when my soldiers weren't ready.
"See, Chloe, I told him to go and gave him a message as well but do you know I have also given him a hidden message? Only his king will understand that message."
"What message is that?" She asked me.
"I didn't allow him to stay in this city, even though I know how difficult it is to travel during the night. This will tell his king that I don't trust him and his men, and he shouldn't send any more men to my camp."
I was standing with Chloe when the minion manager came with the daily report. I was able to see the number of minions, and they were the same as yesterday. This means that nothing has happened to the group of minions I sent yesterday.

After the minion's report, below is the work report. I really wanted to see the work report because this gives me a little insight into the work done in the city.

At the end, there was a report on the outposts in the forests. 60% of the work on all the outposts had been completed, and only Outpost E had 50% left to go. This might have been due to a problem they had encountered, resulting in the deaths of 5 combat minions.
I was worried about the minions and their safety, especially the group I had sent today. The zombie attack we faced earlier had been a strong one. Such zombies could have been a big problem for that small group of soldiers if they had encountered them in the jungle.
I reviewed the report and sent the manager minion away, satisfied with the progress. The resources had also increased, though the number of stones had decreased. All the other sources had increased, especially wood, which we would need a lot of.
The bridge would be a problem, as the design I had in mind would be difficult to construct.
I told Chloe to get ready, and she looked at me with wide eyes, trying to silently ask what for. I understood the question in her eyes and said, "Raymond was a warning for us. Now we need to be prepared to fight against these armies. The enemy is coming for us, but before they reach our door, we will go to their homes and take the battle to them. It's time for us to take action against the world."
Ah, how long has it been since I've been excited like this?
Back in the old world, I would've never had thoughts like this. I'll commit myself to this effort.
Let's see how it goes.
Isn't that right?
