Chapter 260 Journey Of The Sun

The journey of the sun was like that of a human life, or so I had always thought. I envisioned it as starting out weak, gradually gaining strength and resilience, just like a newborn child who is nurtured and cared for by their parents. As the child grows up, they become stronger, but eventually, as they age, they start to weaken once again.

In much the same way, the sun starts out weak, barely peeking over the horizon, but as the day progresses, it rises higher and higher in the sky, growing in strength until it reaches its zenith, shining down upon the earth with its brilliant and radiant light. But as the day comes to a close and the night begins to exert its influence, the sun begins to weaken once again, sinking towards the horizon and eventually disappearing from sight.

I stood there, lost in thought, contemplating the journey of the sun, and whether my interpretation of it was accurate. I gazed up at the sky, staring intently at the sun, until my eyes could no longer bear its bright light. And then, I headed towards the battleground, where my army was waiting.

The sight that greeted me was awe-inspiring. My minions were everywhere, stretching out as far as the eye could see. It had been 9 hours since I had left the ground, and the technique variants stage 2 were still undergoing training. They had 6 more hours until they would be battle-ready, but even now, I could see their determination and strength in the way they held themselves.

I was smiling, feeling a sense of pride in my army, when an intelligence variant approached me. He was one of our spies, tasked with keeping a watchful eye on the enemy. He came running towards me, his steps quick and urgent, and stopped in front of me, panting slightly from his exertions.

"What news have you brought for me?" I asked him as soon as he entered the room. My voice was tinged with a hint of urgency, and I could see the worried expression on his face.

"My lord, the enemy is preparing for an attack, and their movements are becoming more and more apparent. I fear that they will soon be launching another assault on our settlements," he explained, his voice steady but serious. "I felt it was my duty to bring this information to your attention and request that you send four more intelligence variant minions with me. We must be prepared for what is to come."

I pondered over his words, considering the various options available to me. Sending an army to the first settlement was not a feasible plan as the enemy would most likely reach it first. The next two settlements were also beyond our reach, and I couldn't afford to lose them without putting up a fight. I then remembered the fifth settlement, which was located two hours away from our current location. The enemy would have to destroy three settlements before they could reach it, giving us a significant advantage.

I decided to act quickly and opened the advanced control menu, scrolling through the various options until I found the army selection menu. I carefully considered my options, weighing the strengths and weaknesses of each unit before making my final decision. My army would be ready and waiting for the enemy at the fifth settlement, prepared to defend our people and protect our lands.

With a deep breath, I issued the necessary commands and watched as the army began to mobilize. The fate of our settlements rested on their shoulders, and I could only hope that they would be up to the task. But I was determined to do everything in my power to ensure their success, and I would not rest until our enemies were defeated and our lands were safe once more.

I selected a formidable army this time, determined to strike a decisive blow against the enemy. I put two of my most cunning intelligence variants in charge, for this battle promised to be unlike any other. Just as the army was about to march out, a group of citizens from Howard city approached, riding in a cart pulled by a sturdy buffalo.

As they approached, my eyes lit up at the sight of what they had brought with them. The cart was overflowing with gleaming crossbows, each one a potential weapon of destruction. The leader of the group stepped forward and addressed me. "My lord, we have brought these 50 crossbows for the army. We have crafted a further two hundred and Lord Chloe has sent word. She requests that you send a contingent of your strongest brute force minions to retrieve the remaining weapons. She asks for 50 minions."

Without a moment's hesitation, I summoned 50 of my best archers to come forward and take possession of the crossbows. These deadly weapons were loaded with a plentiful supply of arrows, increasing the speed and efficiency of the archers. The archers took hold of their new weapons, eagerly testing their strength and accuracy.

Satisfied that all was in order, I sent my army marching into battle and dispatched 50 of my most powerful brute force minions with the citizens. I was filled with a sense of excitement, both at the prospect of the new weapons and the news from the battlefield. The weapons would be in my hands before the army even reached the enemy settlement, but I knew that the news of the battle would take time to reach me. In the meantime, I sent the intelligence variant and four more of his kin to bring me word of the conflict as it unfolded. This battle would be a true test of strength, and I was confident that my army, armed with their new crossbows, would emerge victorious and leave the enemy reeling from the force of our attack.
