Following the two beasts' eventful first meeting, Milo took Alucard back to his room and went to bed, the next day he'd be beginning his training with his team. When waking up, he found Alucard laying in a coil by his side, he was still sulking from being embarrassed by Waki's show of affection towards his self claimed brother. Milo told Alucard that Waki was a valuable comrade, causing Alucard to steel his will. If it was for his master, he'd do anything to help him, even dealing with a birdbrain like Waki.
The two of them each got ready in their own ways, Milo showered and got dressed, Alucard groomed his wings and ate his food. The two then made their way down to the cafeteria to get some food for Milo before their training began. After eating his breakfast, Milo made his way down to the gym where the rest of the team was waiting, even Courtney had shown up and seemed ready to start. Milo immediately broke down the workout routines he had planned for the team, after having a trainer for himself at the Incubus Guild, he had learned a bit about planning workouts tailored specifically for a person, so he had done so for each role of the team.
For Allana and Mark he made a workout tailored to their cores and upper body, this was to allow them to best prepare their bodies to withstand damage as well as improve their stamina, their abilities would help a great deal but by honing their body it would in turn allow their ability to grow as well. For Maria and Chris he gave them an overall workout to improve their strength. As a dealer, the more damage they could output, the faster they could eliminate enemies. Zach and Chris were put through the ringer, being the two scrawniest in the group, they would need to bulk up the most, Zach would especially need to bulk up as his ability didn't allow for a high damage output like Chris's fire and instead gave him a sort of personal supporter, so improving his solo capabilities was important. Finally Courtney was told to improve her stamina, as a healer she wouldn't really get involved with combat much so improving her ability to hang with the rest of the group and avoid stray attacks from beasts would be essential.
Once they got to work, Milo got to work as well, his body was already far ahead of the other members so he did a light workout and instead thought about his conversation with Zach the day before. After the Atlantic City trip, he had been given some of the cores from the gates he closed and hadn't done anything with them. Now he had a use, not only could he increase Alucard's tier but by helping Zach to improve Waki's tier he would be helping to improve one more possible ally in the fight against the Fellowship and during their in-field experiences. In total, he had 4 Unique rated cores and 9 Rare rated cores from the assignment, which would all be used to improve Waki and Alucard. After thinking about it some, he decided to use most of them to improve Waki, as Alucard had already proven his combat capabilities. There was no reason at the moment to raise his own Magic Power any higher as well, as he had already proven he was the most powerful in the X rated class.
Waki had come with Zach and was trying to help his master through his grueling workout Milo had given him to do. He activated the inspect skill, it had improved a lot and had even reached level 3 from him using it repeatedly while acting as an intern. He used it on Waki and just as he was hoping it gave a status screen similar to Alucard's.

Seeing his stats when compared to Alucard's, it made sense, being that Alucard was a higher level and tier, he should have higher stats and more skills. Most of Waki's skills were more offensively focused as well, rather than supportive like Alucard's and his strength and agility had a higher ratio compared to Alucard's stats which were more focused on intelligence and agility. Overall it seemed like Waki's species of beast was focused more on their offensive capabilities. Because of this Milo wondered just how much stronger Waki could become.
Milo called Zach over in between workouts causing the latter to feel a bit of relief that he would be getting a break. Waki flew over with him as Milo told Zach about the cores he had. Zach told Milo that he should use them on Alucard, but Milo insisted that Zach should take some to use for Waki. His argument that improving Waki would help him as well as the team finally convinced Zach and Milo pulled the cores out to give to him. He gave 3 of the Unique ranked cores and 4 Rare ranked cores. He felt that Waki could use the most improvement considering he hadn't gotten a lot of combat experience, so he decided to give Zach most of the cores.
After that the team's workouts were done for the day and they all left the gym, Zach had the cores to allow Waki to absorb and Milo had the same to do with Alucard. Milo made his way up to the dorms and entered his room. Alucard had come with him but stayed in the Beast Vessel ring during the workouts he wanted to avoid dealing with Waki while there so he asked to stay in the ring once they arrived.
Once he had settled in his room, he released Alucard from the pocket dimension and pulled out the essence cores he had left. Alucard looked at the cores with wonder, taking in all the colors flowing inside of its crystal like exterior. A system screen appeared in Milo's vision:
[Notice]
Essence Cores detected: Choose an Option
[Absorb Cores] [Allow Tame(Alucard) to Absorb Cores]
Like Milo expected, the system gave him a shortcut when it came to allowing Alucard to absorb the cores, he selected the option to allow his beast to absorb the cores and like when he did it, the cores gave off a glow before being absorbed by Alucard's body. He then got a screen telling him the absorption was a success, the cores absorbed had even given Alucard a level up sending him to level 9.

After the level up, Milo put 2 points into strength and 1 point into stamina; this would improve Alucard's close combat a bit. Along with this, his Magic Power had reached 23, there were no visual changes and there was no indication from the system telling him that Alucard had increased in tier. This was to be expected though. Alucard was already a Legendary tier beast it would be awhile before there was any increase in tier since he was already at such a high tier to begin with.
Overall, it was a slight boost but every little improvement would add up to reach Milo's final goal. There was a good chance that Alucard would also level up and unlock his next skill the next time they closed a gate. As the in-field experience went deeper into the year, Alucard would show extreme improvement. Milo felt he was strong enough where he was at for the time being so he would focus on raising the capabilities of his future allies for now. If he improved too much, he'd leave them behind and that was the opposite of what Zenox said he needed to do to be successful at stopping the administrators. The first gate they'd be closing was a little under a month away and in that time, he along with his teammates would have to do their utmost to make sure they were completely ready for it.
