027 Lucky Day
Zhou Hong knew who Team 8566 were!
In fact, Zhou Hong and her team were able to escape from the secret dungeon entirely thanks to Team 8566!
It was all thanks to Team 8566, who had charged brainlessly like madmen, drawing over 90% of the enemy attacks. They had only been able to escape thanks to them!
Therefore, when it came to the strength of Team 8566, Zhou Hong knew better than anyone.
And now, the powerful Team 8566 was greeting Wu Wei in such a respectful manner! One could only imagine what kind of position Wu Wei held amongst them!
This made Zhou Hong a little regretful that she hadn’t tried a little harder just now.
If she were to pull off pulling a big shot like him into her team, her team would be able to soar even higher than she could ever imagine!
Unfortunately, whatever Zhou Hong was thinking about was the least of Wu Wei’s interests.
Wu Wei, who was examining the pitiful state of the members of Team 8566, took a glance at Zhou Hong’s team and put two and two together.
“After I logged out, you guys returned to Treant Forest?”
“No, no, no, no. Brother Wu, how can you accuse us of such a thing? We- we just fell down while we were partying!”
“Yes, yes, we fell down in the middle of partying!”
Wu Wei grew exasperated at their stubbornness.
“If only you guys had fallen to your deaths! You should be lying down to rest, not messing around if you’re injured!”
“I still have some matters to attend to. I’ll see you guys in two days!”
“Yes, Brother Wu, take care!”
“Brother Wu, be careful of the stairs!”
After being sent off by Team 8566, Wu Wei headed toward the marketplace.
After taking care of some of his loot, Wu Wei began to review his finances.
“After selling the Wild Boar Crossbow, I only have these Runic Armaments: the Boar Slaughtering Knife, the Treant Longsword, the Treant Ring, and the Golem Heart.
“As for runic stones, I now have 378!”
378 runic stones was a considerable sum of money.
However, Wu Wei came today with the explicit goal of spending it!
“I’m going to change zones soon. Caves can get quite complex, so I’d better prepare as much as possible!”
“First, there’s the problem of lighting. Caves are dark, and although vision will not be a problem for the Golem Doll, it will be a problem for both Yellow and me!”
“The second problem is navigation inside the cave. It can be easy to become lost inside too….”
“Safety is also important! There are unusual monsters that may spawn in caves, so I had better prepare for them too….”
Wu Wei compiled a long list of things to look out for in a short while.
Then, he began to shop around for solutions one by one.
5 Runic Torches cost 1 runic stone each. Each torch could be lit for three hours and had an effective range of 20 meters.
Wu Wei spent 10 runic stones to purchase 50 of them.
Next, to solve the navigation issue, Wu Wei bought the Support-type Runic Armament [Compass]. Costing 10 runic stones, it only had one function – to point to the South.
Wu Wei also spent another 50 runic stones on a [Lesser Purifying Rune] that could purify negative statuses. However, similar to the Earth Spike rune, it could only be used 3 times.
Although Wu Wei had been reluctant to use the Earth Spike rune, he found the [Lesser Purifying Rune] worth using.
After all, it was something that could potentially save his life.
Next, Wu Wei bought an Alarm Bell Talisman – an item that would warn him of danger in his surroundings. It was relatively expensive, costing 5 runic stones despite having only 3 hours of usage time.,
Wu Wei had to grit his teeth when paying for 10 of them.
Although he had barely just begun shopping, the number of runic stones in Wu Wei’s hand had already dropped to 258.
Wu Wei planned on buying something with his remaining money.
“Yellow has always gone around topless. It’s indecent and unsafe, so I should buy him some armor.”
“Also, I’ll need to buy some pills to test out Golem Doll’s conditions.”
Wu Wei began to resume shopping again. He first went to look for equipment for Yellow.
Although he had entered the Runic Armament confidently with 258 runic stones, in less than five minutes, he was seen coming out of the shop dejectedly.
The items he wanted were too expensive, so he couldn’t afford them!
Well, it wasn’t that Wu Wei couldn’t afford any equipment.
He was facing a dilemma – what he could afford wasn’t of much use to Yellow, but what would be of use to Yellow was too expensive.
Hence, he had no choice but to leave the shop empty-handed.
“F**k, a piece of level 10 [Uncommon]-quality armor costs more than 500 runic stones. What a rip-off!
Reality showed otherwise when he finally thought he had struck it rich.
“Forget it. I’ll put the armor aside and buy some pills first. I should see if Brother Black Robe has succeeded in making Runic Treant Pills!”
Wu Wei turned around to head towards “Brother” Black Robe’s stall.
Suddenly, a commotion was raised in the market. Large droves of students appeared to be swarming towards a particular stall.
Wu Wei only wanted to go to find ‘Brother’ Black Robe but was directly pushed along with the crowd.
Although Wu Wei’s body was now as strong as that of a level 10 [Uncommon]-Runic Martial Artist, in Yuehua Academy, level 10 was still considered a newbie.
Only first-year students were level 10. Second-year students were at least at Stage 1, while third-year and fourth-year students were at least Stages 2, 3, or even higher.
Although third-year higher students did not usually have anything to do in this market, there were several of them in the crowd. Moreover, no matter how strong Wu Wei was, he was still an individual. He had no choice but to be dragged along by such a big crowd.
Of course, Wu Wei was also curious as to what the hype was about.
As for why people were in such a frenzy, Wu Wei roughly formed an idea from listening to the people around here.
It appeared that some big shot was setting up a stall!
Apparently, the items sold were at least of [Uncommon]-quality, and there were [Rare]-quality runes amongst them!
How could these students not be excited?
In this marketplace, the highest grade of items that the academy sold was [Uncommon]. It wasn’t that the academy did not have even higher quality goods, but that they limited the range of goods on purpose!
If you wanted [Rare] or even better items, acquire them yourself in Runic World! This was the stance of the academy.
They were trying to encourage the students to be proactive.
When Wu Wei heard that there were [Rare]-quality items, he also became excited. However, his excitement soon died down.
Wu Wei felt as though he were drowning in this sea of bids.
Just the starting bids of the items ranged from hundreds to even thousands of runic stones! Wu Wei even started to feel that he shouldn’t even be allowed to stand here with the measly amount of runic stones he possessed.
Very quickly, though, the items on the big shot’s pop-up stall were all bought up by the other students.
As the hype died down, the crowd slowly dispersed, and Wu Wei moved up to the stall just to look.
He saw that there was only junk left for sale.
Wu Wei only took a glance before turning around to leave. Suddenly, he felt Yellow shaking inside his [Book of Runes]. Wu Wei was stunned and subconsciously turned back. His gaze fell upon a seemingly insignificant item on the stall.
As his heart beat wildly, he wondered: “Is this my lucky day?”
