17 Chapter 17 Try Your Skill

"Screech!"

The van that was speeding along suddenly stopped, and the huge inertia sent everyone lurching forward.

"What's going on! Why did we stop all of a sudden!"

The man holding the dagger roared angrily.

"Big brother... someone's blocking the way at the intersection ahead..."

"Blocking the way?"

The man with the dagger looked up and indeed saw a person standing in front of the van, an unremarkable-looking man, "Honk the horn and tell him to get lost!"

"Beep beep beep..."

The bald man pressed the horn hard several times and stuck his head out of the window and shouted, "Get lost! Move it now!"

Sitting in the back seat, Liu Mengyao raised an eyebrow and muttered to herself in surprise, How could it be him? She recognized at a glance that the man blocking the way was Gao Fei, a guy she found extremely annoying.

Seeing that Gao Fei stood motionless in front of the van, the man with the dagger became furious, "Ram into him! Crush this blind fool!"

"Buzz buzz buzz..."

As the bald man pressed the gas pedal, the van charged towards Gao Fei.

Faced with the van speeding towards him, Gao Fei showed no sign of panic. With a light tap of his toes on the ground, he soared into the air and then gracefully landed on top of the van.

"Big brother, that guy has climbed onto the roof!" the bald man driving the van shouted.

"Shake him off!" ordered the man with the dagger.

"Right on." The bald man started to swerve the van back and forth on the road, intending to use the huge inertia to shake Gao Fei off. This might have worked on an average person, but not on Gao Fei. He crouched down, grabbed the edges of the roof with both hands, and remained as stable as Mount Tai, no matter how much the van swayed it was impossible to shake him off.

"Big brother, the man on the roof is a freak!" the bald driver said desperately, "I just can't shake him off."

"Damn it!" swore the man with the dagger, "Third, open the window and shoot him down with your gun!"

"Yes." As soon as the thug known as 'Third' stuck his pistol out, it was seized by a strong and powerful hand—the owner of that hand was, of course, Gao Fei. With a light tug, he snatched the pistol away and then flicked it back into the van.

"Bang!"

The gun landed squarely on Third's nose, and with a crisp "crack", blood began to flow. Third clutched his nose and howled in agony, knowing that his nasal bone had been broken and that if he didn't receive treatment soon, the consequences would be dire.

"Kill him for me!" The man with the dagger yelled furiously upon seeing Third injured, "Kill that bastard!!!"

Excluding the bald driver and the injured Third, the remaining three masked thugs all aimed their pistols out of the windows to shoot at Gao Fei; however, to their utter shock, before they could even pull the triggers, Gao Fei had already snatched the guns from them—all three pistols were taken.

"Here you go!" With a flick of his hand, Gao Fei threw the three pistols back.

"Bang bang bang..."

"Ahh ahh ahh..."

"It's me." A woman's voice came through the phone: "Liu Mengyao!"

"Ah, it's you." Gao Fei laughed: "How did you get my number?"

"Don't forget, I'm a police officer. It's not hard to find out your number," Liu Mengyao said.

Gao Fei curled his lip: "What do you want?"

"You assisted the police in catching the criminals, so the department has decided to give you a reward," Liu Mengyao said: "If you're free now, come to the police station."

Gao Fei looked inside and saw two items, a bank card, and a red medal. The back of the bank card had the PIN written on it, six identical digits, easy to remember. He tucked the envelope into his jacket and turned to leave.

Gao Fei stopped and turned around: "What is it?"

"Thank you! Thank you for saving my life yesterday!" Liu Mengyao said earnestly: "To show my gratitude, I want to invite you to dinner."

"No need..." Gao Fei began to refuse, only to be interrupted by Liu Mengyao.

"You must accept!" Liu Mengyao said sternly: "You can't say no!"

"Are you free tonight?"

"I guess I am free..."

"Then we'll meet tonight! Wait for my call!" Liu Mengyao made the decision, leaving no room for Gao Fei to refuse.
