Chapter 113 113 - PURIFICATION

The skies of Neodrazzil were shining with a beautiful blue sky, the sun was strong, but the atmosphere remained a bit cool and relaxing. Amidst the clouds, a white haired girl was carrying a bag with difficulty as she flew back to her home.

"Huf What was that creature huf huf damn this shit is heavy" she said, looking down. From the distance, the cars and people walking back and forth in that city were nothing but tiny ants. Stepping through the window of Ryan's apartment, she reached her destination.

<I'm back> She said, in a mental transmission.

"Did everything go all right? You took a while?" he asked, getting up from his desk chair and walking to the living room. Stretching, the sound of that boy's back slapping echoed through the room. <You need to improve your posture, or you'll turn into a leprechaun>.

Ryan was confused by her speech, laughing he said "At least I'll have a pot of gold". 

Then the succubus handed him his backpack. The weight was a little heavier than before, she must have been reaching her maximum capacity. "That should do it" he concluded, returning to his office. 

Nyx explained to Ryan what had happened, but before the two could think about the problem, a sound interrupted their conversation.

* Ring * Ring * Ring *

Both Ryan's cell phone and his watch began to make noise. The watch on his wrist began to glow with a red color, warning of the guild signal. Jumping out of his chair, he rushed to change. "Separate the items, we need to leave quickly" he shouted to Nyx.

Putting on his black cloak, Ryan separated his weapons while Nyx grabbed the magic cubes from the dwarves. In five minutes the two of them were ready and activating the portal in the middle of the room, the clock created a direct connection that took him to the same forest as the day before.

A good part of the trees had been cut down, giving space to a beaten earth from so many trucks and cars that had passed from one side to the other. Every second, more travelers appeared from within blue portals identical to the one that had thrown Ryan there. Some warriors were already prepared, while others were sitting, using their weapons as a resting place. 

Others were drinking coffee, eating, or just reading. Within minutes, hundreds of warriors appeared inside that portal. 'So they are not taking turns, but rather asking for the return now'

Now all the travelers were in full armor, after the high casualty rate, no one had the interest to die inside that red portal. Inside the portal, there was still an extermination team that was preventing monsters from leaving, hence the quietness of some of those travelers.

John Wrynn's voice came out in a mental transmission, causing all the travelerws to stand at attention and look toward the portal. "We've left four Rank SSS taking care of the inside. But I need to warn you all, this raid is going to be much more intense than the day before, so be careful not to return as just a number. The welfare of the continent depends on you. Step forward! If you have the courage to call yourself a world traveler!"

A good portion of the men in that crowd began to shout euphorically, as if they were preparing for the duel. Running towards the portal, one by one, dozens of warriors crossed that red wall that divided the two worlds.

"I guess it's my time" Ryan said to himself, as he ran through the dead grass of that forest. Within seconds he was feeling that strange shifting sensation, his body was completely taken over by the energy, it was as if he was crossing through water. Passing through a pool of hot water that prevented him from moving forward, running with all his might, he was thrown to the other side of the portal.

*ROOOAAAAARR* 

"You will not get through my barrier!" Aether shouted slamming his staff on the ground. The blond man was a few feet in front of Ryan, who needed a few seconds to understand the full scene of the battle.

There were twelve dragons in front of the portal, each one at a different height in the sky. Besides the dragons those winged women were flying in a gigantic line, at least two hundred of those creatures were flying in the skies of that destroyed land. Those creatures were lined up in a gigantic circle that was surrounding the portal, it was like a kind of barrier or wall of eyes. 

With a flick of his staff, Aether managed to knock out two of the dragons, the ones that were closest. Meanwhile, that shining woman began to fly. She launched herself into the skies, trying to directly confront that row of winged creatures, but the idea was in vain.

Even with effort, she was not advancing. It was as if she was attached to the ground with a rope, unable to fly higher than a few meters. "I don?! I can't move forward!" She shouted, turning to Aether.

With a flick of his hands, the blond man pushed her, causing that woman to be able to propagate out of the disc of those winged creatures. With ease, she began to shoot bursts of light at the creatures, but the attacks were not being efficient. As soon as one of the creatures died, another would appear in its place. They were like cells, when one was killed, the other would split in half and take the place of the predecessor. 

'Nyx, I need your help' Ryan thought as he pulled out his bag.

Removing the crystals and the cubes, he began to stack the boxes. He made a circle with ten cubes, while Nyx was removing the crystals from inside his backpack. To the outside eye, his backpack was floating in mid-air, being swung from side to side as crystals fell out.

"Ryan?" A male voice came up, behind him. It was Kodiak, confused by what he was seeing. "Good to see you mate, but I'm a bit busy right now" He replied, as he continued setting up the cubes.

But even if he was focused, a war is not over because a single person is not fighting. That ring of winged creatures began to glow, the wings of those corrupted women were 

Their eyes were emitting an intense light. "They're going to start an area attack! I'm starting the defense!" Aether shouted to everyone.

Kodiak stood in front of Ryan, and with all the air in his lung, the druid shouted "FOR NATURE SAKE, PROTECTION" that man's long green hair turned into feathers, he in seconds changed into the owl form of a druid. Putting his hands together, he threw seeds into the air, creating a barrier of plants around the two of them. The barrier increased in size within seconds, as if using Hyper Anthesis.

Several white rays emerged from the eyes of each of those creatures' wings. They were like hundreds of stars falling towards the travelers, Aether managed to repel some, but the quantity was so high that some passed before the blond's barrier was complete.

According to the notification that appeared in front of Ryan's eyes, about twenty travelers died from that attack.

"Now" Ryan shouted, asking for Nyx's help. With a kiss, the succubus completely recharged his mana. Within seconds, Ryan zeroed his own energy twice as he fueled all ten of the dwarf boxes he had set up.

The shots that kept falling from the sky were getting caught in a gravitational barrier that Aether had set up. The white lights were accumulating, completely illuminating the travelers' vision, the amount was increasing by the second. Until they all disappeared with a single impact.

The Kodiak barrier disappeared, the barrier burned from the inside out, rotting away. An intense vibration echoed everywhere, disabling any magical activity. One by one, that ring of creatures flying through the sky began to fall, and the dragons were roaring mad, flailing on the ground as if in intense pain. 

The cubes were sucking up all the mana in the area, as well as the very demonic energy that the creatures of the abyss possessed. The dark corrupted bodies of those creatures were being regenerated. The winged women who fell to the ground were losing their wings, crawling on the ground they tried to approach Ryan. 

Their bodies were losing those black goo, revealing hundreds of naked women. The dragons were losing their spines, until they turned into ordinary wild dragons, which flew freely around that region, running away from the fight.

"What? Humans?" One of the travelers said, as he watched those women crying and panicking. But seconds later, they began to disappear, as if they had turned to dust. One by one, they were falling apart.

"Do you know what that is? Aether?!" A woman hunter said to the blond man. But like most in that portal, his eyes were wide in panic, "I've never heard about humans in a portal" he said, as if he was feeling genuine fear.

'I thoguht I would not be the only one to have this reaction' Ryan thought.

The black earth of that region was turning into an ordinary dry dirt floor, losing its black coloration and returning to an ordinary brown color. After a few minutes of the machine running, the crystals ran out. 

A portal appeared below each of the guild travelers, and in front of Ryan's eyes a notification updated itself on the system.
