Chapter 236: There are other vampires out there

Tessa began to wonder if her contact was compromised or not. He was a long time friend so it couldn't be right? But then again, who was to say friends didn't betray one another?

Tessa's heart skipped a beat. How could this be possible? She had just seen Blake with her own eyes, alive and well on the island. Was her contact lying, or was there something more sinister at play?

When she thought about it, it was very likely the whole prison had been paid hush money. It made sense and looked like something Rose Shelly could pull off.

But Tessa couldn't afford to dwell on doubts now. She needed answers, and she needed them fast. If the prison had indeed been paid off to keep Blake's incarceration under wraps, then it was clear that powerful forces were at play.

Now speaking of Rose Shelly, Tessa pulled her laptop closer to her and began to look into Elena. She began to dive into all the data from her father's index and looked around on the web but found nothing of sorts.

As she continued to sift through information on Elena, Tessa couldn't shake the feeling of déjà vu. There was something about Elena that reminded her eerily of Rose Shelly, the notorious figure at the center of it all.

However somethimg struck a chord and with a sudden burst of inspiration, Tessa scampered from her bed and reached for a drawer and retrieved a flash drive.

Josh had helped her move most of the information from the actual diskette she found in her father's study into this Flash drive. It was a relic from her father's archives, a piece of information that could hold the key to unlocking the mystery before her.

With trembling hands, Tessa inserted the flash drive into her laptop and began to access the files, she found a video file and selected it. As the screen flickered to life, she held her breath, anticipation coursing through her veins.

As Tessa processed this new information, a chill ran down her spine. If Elena was indeed a Shelly, then it meant that Rose wasn't the only vampire with the capability to wield immense power and influence. The pieces of the puzzle began to fall into place, painting a picture of a world far more complex and dangerous than Tessa had ever imagined.

It wasn't just Rose she needed to be wary of – it was Elena as well.

Suddenly, the air of intimidation that surrounded Elena made sense – it wasn't just her commanding presence, but the knowledge that she wielded the same level of influence as Rose Shelly.

Elena's all-knowing eyes and cold stare took on a new significance, signaling not just confidence, but the power that came with her status as a Shelly. Tessa couldn't help but feel a sense of unease at the thought that there might be more vampires like Rose and Elena out there, lurking in the shadows.

The even pale skin that Tessa had admired on Elena now seemed like a telltale sign of her vampiric lineage. It was a physical trait shared by many members of the Shelly family, a mark of their otherworldly nature.

As Tessa grappled with the implications of her discovery, a nagging question gnawed at the back of her mind – what if Rose and Elena weren't the only powerful vampires in existence? What if there were others out there, hidden from view, pulling the strings behind the scenes?

The idea was both terrifying and exhilarating. On one hand, it meant that Tessa's understanding of the vampire world was far more complex than she had ever imagined. On the other hand, it opened up a realm of possibilities – the chance to uncover secrets and truths that had long been shrouded in darkness.

But with this newfound knowledge came a sense of urgency. If there were other powerful vampires out there, it meant that the world was even more precarious than Tessa had previously thought. It was a reminder that danger could lurk around every corner, and that she needed to tread carefully in her pursuit of the truth.

As Tessa contemplated the mysteries that lay ahead, one thing became clear – she was on the brink of uncovering a truth that could change everything. And she was determined to see it through, no matter the cost.
