Chapter 7.1 - About Fanfiction 4 Part 1
The society today was really fast-paced. The matter with the hot search was already shelved in the corner of netizens’ memories in less than a few days.
With an exception of the autotuned remix section’s video editors’ submission folder.
Han Shi Yu found that every video editor on Qu Di was really talented.
They edited all the various shots of Zhou Yi and himself attending events together. Although the two couldn’t compare to actors and artists with a lot of exposure from their drama, they still couldn’t avoid falling victim to the amazing editing skills of these editors.
Sometimes, there would be a few clips taken by passersbys of Zhou Yi and himself attending god knows which event as they sat next to each other, whispering into the other’s ears to talk. The blurry video quality instead created a hazy sense of ambiguity.
Recently, Han Shi Yu had become more and more addicted to this. From feeling shameful at first to indulging himself in it and having the best time of his life, to sharing this joy with Yang Mo later on.
“Look at this, it’s awesome.”
“This is pretty interesting, hahahaha.”
The cooperation between Ji Xun and Tian Ta Music had gotten on even worse terms now and it was about to entirely crumble and fall apart soon. The company was working hard on looking for a new partner to work with, fighting to gain more benefits out of the cooperation that was ending soon. Anyway, in the midst of this tense situation—
President Han was surprisingly in a pretty good mood.
His secretary found it to be really strange.
Han Shi Yu went back and forth between Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. He finally found some free time in between his busy schedule to give Yang Mo a call, asking him out of concern, “Mo, did you miss me? I’ll try to come home earlier.”
""
“You don’t have to come back,” Yang Mo said, “Yang Han applied to stay in the school dorms for a week without coming home. I’m also working overtime at the company till late at night.”
Beep.
The phone call was cut off.
Han Shi Yu: “?”
He dialed over but Yang Mo did not answer.
Han Shi Yu felt really wronged, mumbling to himself, “What did I do?”
His secretary looked at him with sympathy in her eyes.
She thought to herself, there was probably no married man who would send a fan edited video of himself with someone else to his significant other.
A video was not the end of it too, but there were even fanarts.
One video was not enough either. He couldn’t stop sharing them throughout the day too.
The secretary sighed.
Then she turned around and picked up her phone, sending this idea to the authors she like so that they could turn them into writing prompts.
Zhou Yi had in fact came to his house as a guest after the hot search incident had passed. Han Shi Yu personally cooked to make it up to him.
Zhou Yi really spoiled Yang Han. Every time he dropped by, he would buy her something, so Yang Han liked following him around when she was younger.
But as she sat opposite of Zhou Yi now, she felt extremely restless like she was sitting on pins and needles. She couldn’t be comfortable no matter what.
This won’t do.
She still couldn’t look straight at Uncle Zhou and Han Shi Yu staying together in one place…
This was Aurora Leaping Towards North’s fault.
Han Shi Yu wasn’t at home now and although Yang Mo had gotten the approval to work from home, his sense of responsibility made him go to work at the company while Yang Han was at school.
Yang Han felt sorry watching him go back and forth between the school, home and company. She was already in high school now, yet she had to trouble Yang Mo to send and fetch her from school every day.
And so, Yang Han proposed that she would stay in the dorms for a week to try it out. Yang Mo hesitated for a long time but ultimately agreed to it.
She realized that the other five classmates from the ‘Dog Raising Institution’ chat had started paying attention to Han Shi Yu’s every update after that weekend. And then from time to time, they would come to Yang Han to confirm whether certain news or rumors were true. They had a lot of fun from being aware of what the public didn’t know.
On the other hand, Yang Han who was seated in the classroom, managed to be updated on all of Han Shi Yu’s messy happenings in real time.
Xu Jia told her that Ji Xun successfully acquired Hai Ting Music.
""
Yang Han looked at her as she took a sip of the milk tea that Xu Jia brought her during recess time. “I only know that they couldn’t talk it out with Tian Ta.”
Xu Jia: “Tian Ta is a domestic software for mainstream music. It has a lot of traffic, copyright on their own and they were only cooperating with Ji Xun. During their cooperation, Tian Ta’s music copyrights were shared 100% with Ji Xun. Now that they went separate ways, Ji Xun fought and managed to acquire the right to use 5% of their exclusive copyright…”
Yang Han chewed on the pearls and asked, “How do you know so much about this?”
Xu Jia: “Well, I just casually looked around…That…Hai Ting may not be as popular as Tian Ta, but the user experience is extremely good and the interaction aspect is really comfortable too. Their main special feature is their Chinese style music…”
Yang Han sucked in another mouthful of tea.
Xu Jia continued excitedly, “Among the musicians who focus on Chinese style music, there are many pretty ones in that company. One of my favorites are there too, he’s the one I shared with you before – Mu Liu Su…Can you try and get a signed photo for me, please?”
Yang Han realized that Xu Jia had found a new function from her.
She was an Idol-chasing tool to her.
Yang Han: “……”
The next class was physics.
Yang Han threw her an art photo of Planck.
Without a signature.
On one of the days that Yang Han stayed in the dorms, she ran into her classmate Liu Zuo Ye while she was on her way to get some hot water.
Liu Zuo Ye was really tall, almost close to a meter and eight. She was looking downwards at Yang Han. As Yang Han turned around, she accidentally bumped into her.
Yang Han: “I’m sorry.”
“It’s alright.” Liu Zuo Ye raised an eyebrow at her, “Our humble civilian way of life didn’t upset the little princess, right?
“……” Yang Han would have had to tilt her head to look up at her, so she simply chose not to do it. “No. In the future, I’ll need everyone’s care too…”
Liu Zuo Ye: “The future will definitely come, yes. But caring won’t be necessary…Your dad isn’t free to pick you up?”
Yang Han: “He has work.”
Liu Zuo Ye ‘oh’-ed her. Seeing as her water bottle was filled up, she carried it and said, “We’re going the same way, want to walk back together?”
To be honest, Yang Han didn’t quite want to walk back with her.
She walked quietly beside Liu Zuo Ye without saying anything.
When they reached the dormitory’s entrance, Yang Han thought it was finally time to be liberated from this, yet Liu Zuo Ye suddenly said to her.
“In the future, restrain yourself a little. No one is interested in seeing how well your life is. The money you spent isn’t yours anyway. It’s earned by your parents.”
Yang Han stood still in front of the door, her hand was still on the door handle.
She suddenly raised her head and replied faintly, “But all of these are owned by me. How I want to express it is my own business and nobody else’s.”
Liu Zuo Ye stared at her from top to bottom, emitting a subtle intimidating pressure. She frowned and said, “What did you say.”
Yang Han’s heart was beating really fast but she maintained the calmness in her words, “I said, it’s no one else’s business.”
The air was silent for a moment. Liu Zuo Ye didn’t do anything except sneering a little before saying, “Well, suit yourself then.”
Entered the room, closed the door.
The blood pumping out of Yang Han’s heart flowed rapidly throughout her body, causing her to burn up a little all over. She hugged her water bottle and entered the dorm, running into Xu Jia who was on her way out. She asked worriedly, “Did Liu Zuo Ye cause you any trouble just now?”
Yang Han smiled at her, “It’s okay.”
The people in the dorm seemed to have heard the noises from outside just now, so they began to comfort her.
“She seems to be a foreigner and her family is poor. Back in junior high school, she would often get into fights, faking accidents to ask for medical fee compensations. She was still the same way even in high school. Yang Yang, don’t mind it…”
Yang Han shook her head and said, “It’s not good to talk about others behind their backs…”
They sighed, “Yang Yang, don’t be too kind to people like her.”
Yang Han thanked them for their concern and went to sleep after washing up.
She laid on top of the top bunk, staring at the ceiling and feeling a little stuffy inside. And so, she secretly took out her phone under the covers and sent a message to Yang Mo, “Dad.”
Her messages were basically always replied by Yang Mo in seconds.
Yang Mo: “What’s wrong? Not used to living there?”
Yang Han felt immense relief and assurance just from his reply. She smiled against the light that reflected on her face before replying, “It’s nothing. My classmates are all really nice. It’s just that I miss you a little.”
Yang Mo was quiet for a while before saying, “Remember to tell me if anything happens.”
Yang Han: “Mhmm!”
Yang Mo: “It’s only been a day and you’re already missing me. What will you do when you go to college in the future.”
Yang Han sweetly replied back, “Because I love you the most. Look at Han Shi Yu. Even when he went away for a month, I didn’t miss him.”
“……You can miss him a little, to a suitable extent.” Yang Mo said, “Rest early. Don’t play with your phone anymore.”
Yang Han: “Okay!”
