Chapter 8.2 - About Lu Yue Ming Part 2
Han Shi Yu sneezed in the middle of recording a voice message. His hand shook a little and it ended up being sent over.
Yang Mo asked, “Caught a cold? Your voice sounds a little nasally.”
Han Shi Yu: “Nah, I just didn’t sleep well last night.”
Yang Mo: “Oh.”
Han Shi Yu rubbed his nose a little and frowned, “I suddenly have a bad feeling.”
Yang Mo: “?”
Han Shi Yu: “As if an unknown creature is about to invade and take over my own backyard.”
Yang Mo: “……”
Han Shi Yu: “Has our cabbage been doing well lately?”
Yang Mo was puzzled, “What cabbage?”
Han Shi Yu: “Xiao Yang.”
Yang Mo replied, “She said she’s doing alright and she calls home once every day…By the way, she won’t be coming home except for weekends from now on. She’ll be staying in the dorms.”
Han Shi Yu: “Oh.”
The merging of Hai Ting Music and Ji Xun was very successful. All the musicians under them also signed up to Qu Di, which brought a considerable wave of online traffic to Qu Di.
“Once I’m done with all of these,” Han Shi Yu said, “I’ll take you and Xiao Yang to enjoy the sea breeze.”
Yang Mo replied, “You might be done, but I’m not. Go to the balcony if you want to enjoy the breeze.”
Han Shi Yu: “Sob.”
The legendary icon of straight men in the IT world – Starry – racked his brains and worried on how to satisfy this president of Ji Xun every day.
In the company, he had to build a good technical foundation to meet his whimsical ideas.
At home, he had to meet his expectations on their night life activities while taking care of Yang Han.
Actually, Yang Mo noticed that Han Shi Yu was slowly delegating his workload to others and had the intention to train some programmers who could take up the role of his right-hand men.
But Yang Mo was a very stubborn man.
Every time Han Shi Yu planned to share his workload, it would end up with Yang Mo forcefully taking it all over again.
It felt like Yang Mo was tugging on his tie and slapping it in his face with a sentence of, “You don’t need to care about my work. Just focus on being pretty while playing to your heart’s content, that will do”.
""
Han Shi Yu felt really guilty about that, unable to get past it so the only thing he could do was treat Yang Mo well.
He set a small goal for himself every day – which was to treat his beloved Mo Mo better than the him from yesterday.
Secretary: “President Han, regarding the matter on transferring the five percent of copyright to Hai Ting Music…I’ve placed the materials on your desk. Do take a look at it. Tian Ta Music is not backing down again.”
Han Shi Yu’s teenage heart was shattered by his secretary.
He immediately put on a serious expression, “Okay.”
Yang Han: “Dad, my classmate asked me out for a movie over the weekend.”
Yang Mo: “How many of them?”
Yang Han: “One.”
Yang Mo: “From your class?”
Yang Han: “Yeah. It’s Lu Yue Ming.”
Yang Mo: “It’s good to get along with others. They can take care of you in life and in your studies in the future.”
Yang Mo was quiet for a while. Then, as though he picked up on something, he turned his head towards Yang Han. “The classmate who was explaining the question in your room that day. He’s Lu Yue Ming, right?”
Yang Han: “Mhmm.’
Yang Mo: “A boy?”
Yang Han was puzzled, “Dad, can’t you tell by looking at him?”
The main point here clearly wasn’t whether Yang Mo could tell or not.
Yang Mo stared at this cabbage that he had personally raised.
In the past, Yang Mo was a thug who thought ‘nothing can’t be solved with a fight’. He wasn’t afraid of the heaven or earth nor the rules. His brain was filled with all sort of reckless, stupid thoughts when he was a teenager.
At that time, if someone told him that he would be so worried about his daughter’s date and ended up following her in secret, he would definitely snort, throw away his cigarette and taught that person a harsh lesson on his beliefs.
One, he didn’t want a child because they were all a burden.
Second, he would rather die than do something as creepy as stalking a girl.
It turned out that all those wild, frivolous thoughts during his youth were all bullshit.
Yang Mo wore a navy t-shirt with red and white lines and a cap, pretending to be having a drink in the milk tea shop. Several girls came over during this time to ask for his WeChat account, who were all rejected with the reason that he forgot to bring his phone out.
The second the girls left, a phone call from Han Shi Yu came.
Yang Mo: “What is it?”
Han Shi Yu: “You took a leave from work?”
The girls looked back at him who was talking on the phone, “……”
Yang Mo said, “I’m done with the core coding and I’ve explained all the other works that need to be handled. I don’t have anything else to do.”
The employee welfare given to the programming department in Ji Xun was really great. They were free to get to work and leave at their own time, taking leaves were almost instantly approved the second it was submitted – as long as they finished the workload they had.
However, the usual Yang Mo not only had to finish his own work, he had to supervise every person in his team and make sure they completed it all before he was truly done.
Han Shi Yu couldn’t help but wonder, “But this isn’t like your style…is there something wrong?”
Yang Mo gritted his teeth a little, “I’m out to watch over your cabbage, in case she gets snatched.”
Han Shi Yu: “???”
Yang Mo hung up the phone.
Lu Yue Ming made his way from a distance away, greeting Yang Han who was already waiting there. Yang Mo noticed that he wore the same colours as him, also a navy-blue t-shirt which looked very lowkey.
Lu Yue Ming smiled at Yang Han.
Yang Mo couldn’t hear the conversation between them. His fingers curled up on the table as he watched Yang Han and Lu Yue Ming take their tickets from the ticket machine. After chatting for a while, there was a broadcast reminder that rang out so they went into the theater.
Yang Mo got up to pay the bill, then he walked out of the shop after pulling his cap down.
He said to the ticket agent, “This movie, one ticket please.”
This movie was really popular so the theater was almost filled with people sitting next to each other. Only the last row was pretty empty, so Yang Mo picked a random seat and paid for it.
The ticket agent was very enthusiastic, promoting their expensive popcorn and drinks to him. Yang Mo bought a bucket on the way in.
And then.
Yang Mo stared at Lu Yue Ming who was in front of him.
The lights had gone out in the theater but the light from the screen shone on his face. Lu Yue Ming said in surprise, “Uncle?”
Yang Han poked her head out and the same surprise was painted across her face, “Dad?”
Yang Mo: “……”
Damn it.
What kind of luck did he have to pick the seat next to them?
Yang Mo pretended like nothing had happened, threw a popcorn into his mouth and said indifferently, “I heard this movie has a good reputation, so I came to watch it. What a coincidence.”
Yang Han stared at the same Yang Mo who had never ever went to the cinema to watch a movie or ate desserts in his whole life. “……”
Why did her dad behave in such a Han Shi Yu manner?
