CH 31.2

Name:My Two Dads Author:
“I’m going back to Shenzhen with your dad for the next two weeks,” After finishing their small talks, Yang Mo finally got down to business and said, “Your Uncle Lu will pick you up on the weekend in between.”

Yang Han recalled this Uncle Lu with shining blonde hair but a strong Beijing accent. The two of them got along pretty well too.

Yang Mo said, “He has a Samoyed dog at home. If you want, you can ask him to let you visit on next weekend.” Yang Mo added on, “At the same time, you can practice your English communication skills a little.”

Lu You Qi’s wife is a Chinese-British.

After learning she won’t be seeing Yang Mo for the next two weeks, Yang Han was already starting to miss him. She said a little sadly, “Ah, come back earlier. I’ll call you often.”

Yang Mo: “En.”

Han Shi Yu knocked on the table a few times, dissatisfied, “What about me? I’m also leaving for two weeks.”

Yang Han said in an official and ruthless manner, “Have a safe trip.”

Ji Yue’s supertopic1.

“Comrades— did you see the Star Project posted by Qu Di’s official account? They will invite a star every week to join Qu Di or any artist with million followers to visit their company! Next! Week! They are inviting! Han Shi Yu.”

Replies:

“Is it okay to invite your own boss.”

“Hahahaha hhk is also an artist with million followers from Qu Di, so there’s no problem.”

“Fellow autotuned remixes editors from the video forum, get ready—”

“I thought he liked another post again and got happy too.”

“There’s a corner during the live where they’ll pick a question from the on-screen comments. Fellow friends, remember to spam ‘when is hhk going to stop being single?’ at that time.”

“I heard Ji Xun is cooperating with an educational livestream platform and recently bought over a North South Literature. Han Shi Yu is preparing to get involved with the gaming and television industry.”

Replies:

“Where hhk appears, not even a blade of grass will grow.”

“Ugh…I think Han Shi Yu can be considered one of the entrepreneurs with a conscience, right?”

“Don’t get confused with the hot searches on Weibo and how they present their official image. In the serious business industry, capitalists will always prioritize interests first.”

“Isn’t Qu Di’s literature column doing well. Why is there a need to buy over North South Literature?”

“Qu Di’s literature column is ultimately a blogging site. There are not that many original stories in longer length.”

Yang Han was reading all the posts on Weibo one by one in the car.

After the hype was over, Qu Di and Ji Yue’s topics began to decrease, something that almost every thing and incident must go through in this fast-paced era.

But the model author, Aurora Leaping Towards North was still producing content without a stop. The author was an omnivorous member who enjoyed writing for fun. Furthermore, she had a heart full of love and seemed to have started shipping Starry Rain recently, which added a lot of warmth to this cold community – although, it was warmth mixed in with knives2.

Yang Han was pleasantly surprised to find a new pit to fall into, named ‘You and I, Our 17 Light Years’.

This author even had a friendly exchange and interaction with that honour student from Shou Cheng, who went by ‘Not A Programmer’. With information acquired from the latter, Aurora Leaping Towards North produced fanfictions extremely close to the real story – although only someone like Yang Han, who actually knew the real story would think so.

Her two dads had been together for 17 years now.

Due to the fact that the term ‘light years’ felt extremely painful, and the author Aurora Leaping Towards North’s spiralling way of serving knives in her stories, Yang Han decided it was best to bookmark it first and only officially read it when it was completed.

The person driving in front was Lu You Qi, who came to pick up Yang Han just as she finished that week of classes.

He saw Yang Han through the rear-view mirror and smiled, “I heard you wanted to raise a dog.”

Yang Han raised her head and nodded, “Mhmm.”

Lu You Qi then said, “Han Shi Yu actually found one for you a long time ago already.”

Yang Han blinked a few times before reacting. “Really? When?”

“When you guys just came back from celebrating Chinese New Year, he came to me. I often volunteered with a group and knew a stray animal rescue station.” Lu You Qi said.

""

Her heart was engulfed in a wave of warmth. Yang Han secretly felt happy for a moment.

“But, it’s not just for you,” Lu You Qi could see happiness spreading on the girl’s face from the rear-view mirror and laughed, “Yang Mo is also really fond of small animals. But he always felt like he was too busy and couldn’t keep one.”

As he said that, Lu You Qi recalled the past and said, “When we were in university, stray dogs were really fond of him.”

Yang Han blinked for a while. Outside the window, sounds of honking sirens and vehicles whizzed by.

He suddenly remembered that Uncle Lu was her dad’s university roommate.

Yang Han leaned forward.

“That…Gege.”

Lu You Qi went from uncle to gege, the corners of his lips curved upwards as he said, “Oho, what is it?”

Yang Han smiled, “Can you tell me a little about how my dad and Old Han got together?”

Lu You Qi: “……”’

He truly did not know about this matter.

He didn’t even know that the two of them got together in university.

He pondered about it for a moment, while the traffic light was red. He gently tapped on the steering wheel and said, “But…I know that there was one time when your dad seemed to have fought…for Han Shi Yu.”

Yang Han widened her eyes. “Huh?!”

“Yeah, that incident blew up quite badly.” Lu You Qi pointed at his shoulder and said, “Yang Mo has a scar on his left shoulder, do you know about that?”

If it was on his hand or any other obvious body parts, Yang Han would have noticed it but the shoulder was not a commonly shown area. Yang Han shook her head, her shock growing even more.

Lu You Qi’s hand rested on the steering wheel while looking ahead, seeing the red light start counting down. “It was…from that one time.”

Yang Han’s phone alerted her with a notification but she didn’t have the interest to check it.

It was Qu Di’s literature column, a topic that she had followed just updated.

[Starry Rain] Han Shi Yu x Starry

<Among the group of stars shining brightly, I’ll pluck only you>

T/N: I announced in the discord server already but for the ones who miss out on it, I’ll be updating once a week instead of every 4 days due to the fact that I’m moving + starting internship so I have a lot less time to work on translations ;-; I’m sorry for that and I hope you understand!
