Chapter 37: Tracking

Mery explained everything briefly, but it was ough to make David understand how the region called Southeast Asia works.

It was a region that had a lot of resources, but unfortunately could not be said to be prosperous.

The inability to manage their own resources was a major factor.

David had nothing more to say.

He th stared at the university building, curious as to which area Chu Fg was in now.

"What are you looking for, why are you staring there?" asked Mery not long after.

She clearly realized that David was making careful observations.

"There is someone who targeted Jane from the start, and he should be a Spiritual Being," David replied.

"What did Miss Jane say about him?" asked Mery again.

"I guess Jane doesn't really care so far." David explained.

Jane never talked about Chu Fg, it ev looked like she did not think about him.

"If Miss Jane doesn't care, you probably don't need to worry," Mery said.

"Why? Does that mean he's not threating?"

"No, every emy is a threat, that's the philosophy of every elite family. Their childr are taught to always be vigilant. As long as they are not stupid, they will never underestimate the emy. Miss Jane is a very smart woman, of course. However, her actions td to always go unnoticed so we may not understand. Miss Erza once told me that Miss Jane will surprise us wh she doesn't seem to care."

"Is it like that?" David felt he had learned something new about Jane.

He held his chin with a brooding expression.

"I think this is ough," Mery said, th walked over to get the hose that connected the tanks of the two cars.

After that, she closed each one and threw the hose into the Mercedez she was carrying.

"By the way, do you want to keep an eye on that guy? I can help you," Mery said.

After she said that, she suddly waved her hand.

From her hand, David saw a darkness that looked like shadows gathering.

"What is this?" asked David, narrowing his eyes as he felt that the darkness was very unique ev among spiritual forces although he had not se many spiritual forces.

"I have the power of shadows, so I am very skilled at hiding, and of course, killing," replied Mery, curling her lips slightly.

"Can the emy detect us if we get too close to the emy?" David asked, wanting to know more.

"Yes, we need to keep our distance, and most importantly, not let the emy see us directly."

"Mmm, I understand now, let's move."

David moved the shadow using his mind.

It moved slowly on the road and became faster with time.

Appartly through the shadow, David can move faster than running.

He and Mery passed through the university gs in no time.

"Let's go through the window," Mery said suddly and moved towards the op window.

She thought it might not be so safe to go through the trance of the building.

David followed her without saying anything. Here, he left it to her to take the lead.

With her life experice, she might also be able to track down Chu Fg.

After tering that window, they arrived at the extracurricular music room.

It was full of various musical instrumts, but there were no people.

David and Mery wt straight through the gap under the door which was very easy for them to pass through.

However, after passing through the gap, Mery chose to stop.

"By the way, do you know where the least used staircase is?" she asked David.

"I don't think I know because I've only be at this university for one day," David replied.

Not to mtion the least used staircase, he hadn't ev memorized the structure of this building.

Mery was silt after hearing his answer, looking like she was starting to think.

After that, she said, "let's go to one of the back corners of this building. Usually the least used staircase is there, either on the left or right side. I hope the footprints on the stairs are still there."

She started moving again. If it was just the back corner she was aiming for, it wasn't so difficult as the path was quite clear.

David continued to follow her from the side, learning more from her experice.

If he were to try to track Chu Fg himself, he would probably move randomly, unlike Mery who could estimate the route Chu Fg might take.
