At first glance, it is similar to coal because it is also black in color. However, when observed, it turned out to have a shape like a wrist bone.
It also reflected the light of David's lightning.
"This kind of thing is often collected by Spiritual Beings. It is useful in purifying the blood of the Deities as there is still very strong spiritual power in it." Mery explained to David.
After hearing that, David picked up the object.
As it turned out, it was indeed a bone. However, it was very heavy. David had to use the spiritual power in his hands just to lift the bone.
"Do you want to keep it?" he asked Mery as he pointed the bone at her. He thought carrying it would only burden her.
Apparently, Mery shook her head and replied, "just leave it here. It won't give us any benefit, it's better to let it go with the mined coal."
Mery obviously had the same thoughts as David.
Since that's what she said, David put the bone back where it came from.
He then made a new hole under his feet.
He and Mery went deep underground.
Of course, compared to the land, they might not have gone too far underground. This is because they jumped from the top of the mine which was basically on top of the mountain.
When David made the hole for the sixth time, he and Mery suddenly saw light emanating from the depths of the hole.
This instantly alerted them.
David thrust his sword into the wall, then grabbed Mery's hand while holding onto the hilt.
This was an oddity, they couldn't go straight down.
"There seems to be a crypt down there," Mery said with furrowed brows.
After that, she looked at David and asked, "are you sure you want to continue down?"
"What about you?" David asked back because he couldn't decide yet.
"I'm always ready to die on an adventure, so I'll go down if you want to go down," Mery replied very calmly, making David somewhat embarrassed as his courage was definitely not as great as this woman's. Since she was brave, David's courage was instantly boosted.
Because she was brave, David's courage was instantly pushed upwards by his strength.
It didn't accept that David was afraid of facing obstacles because from the point of view of Zeus' power, he was the greatest obstacle for all creatures.
David withdrew his sword so that his body fell again.
What he would encounter below, he was really curious now.
In no time, he arrived at the end of the hole, entering the crypt where everything was clearly visible.
The first thing he saw was actually a river whose water was extremely clear.
It flowed through the crypt, filled with sizable freshwater fish.
There was a cave at each end of the river. Perhaps it was connected to the river outside.
As David gazed toward the riverbank, his eyes widened.
He saw an enormous skeleton, but it was definitely not a human skeleton.
It was the skeleton that was emitting light. It was completely blue in color, similar to a diamond.
David observed the skeleton carefully and then thought about dragons because the shape of the skeleton seemed similar to a western dragon.
It had a pair of wings with a lizard-like body but had shorter arms than legs.
Behind the skeleton, David even saw a pile of gold and edged, forming a small hill with an iron chest on top.
Suddenly, a huge shadow came out of her hand.
In an instant, it became like a dragon.
The difference was, it wasn't a skeleton, it even looked like it had flesh.
Shua!
The dragon-shaped shadow lunged towards the skeleton, seeming to want to hit it head-on.
As it turned out, it actually had flesh, not just a shadow.
It managed to push the skeleton away.
Since it happened that the skeleton was swaying unsteadily, the dragon-shaped shadow's push instantly knocked it down.
David quickly attacked again, this time not with his sword. He aimed his other hand at the skeleton.
Right after that, countless lightning bolts appeared above the skeleton, producing a continuous sound of thunder.
The lightning bolts became one, forming a huge hand that then descended towards the skeleton.
BANG!
The hand made of those lightning bolts struck the skeleton hard.
The lightning bolts then flowed all over the skeleton, giving small strikes but at all points of the skeleton.
In a short time, the light from the skeleton became rather dim.
There was no sure way to make the skeleton lose its combat power.
The only way was to keep attacking it until it ran out of energy.
Mery's plan succeeded in rendering the skeleton helpless, so David and Mery continued to attack it without giving it a chance to fight back.
The next thing David did was to free his sword again at the skeleton.
The difference was, this time he slashed the sword until it actually hit the skeleton's back.
Crack!
The result was quite surprising to David.
The bones on the skeleton's back suddenly tore a little from being hit by Excalibur. It may seem insignificant, but it made the skeleton weaken drastically.
David repeated the same thing, creating more tears in the bones of the skeleton.
In no time, it seemed unable to stand up again.
The last thing David did was to release more lightning and drown the skeleton in it.
Confident that the skeleton wouldn't be able to move anymore, so David moved backwards, crossing the river.
Mery did the same.
Both of their bodies were covered in sweat.
Sure enough, when David's lightning disappeared, the skeleton was no longer able to rise.
The light became so dim that the crypt seemed to have no light anymore.
David had to create a big ball of lightning to illuminate the basement.
This was a battle where only one side was attacking, but David was still quite exhausted.
However, Mery was actually much more exhausted.
Her breathing was labored. She took many deep breaths just to calm her breathing.
