"Curse?" This was beyond David's expectations. He really hadn't thought of a curse in this matter.
Although he speculated that it involved other people, he thought it was only because of a certain drug that had damaged some of Jane's brain cells. How could there be a curse like this?
And who put the curse on Jane?
Jane was silent after she said that, frowning as if she was thinking.
Even then she tapped the table with her fingers.
Unnoticed, the lecturer suddenly arrived.
David rolled his eyes, not sure what was going on since Jane apparently didn't answer.
Or that she didn't want to answer yet.
After the lecturer arrived, Jane picked up her book, acting as if she had never been asked by David.
David didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
He sighed, and stroked Jane's white hair.
For that gesture, all the guys in the class looked at him jealously.
They apparently noticed him, just didn't look at him directly before he touched Jane's hair.
It seemed that until now, all the guys in this class still dreamed of having Jane and did not accept her being owned by David.
When her hair was stroked, Jane also seemed to enjoy it.
With any nature, she would be happy to make out with David.
In this class, they continued to listen to the lecturer speak.
The latter discussed economics as usual, and sometimes talked about politics.
When the lesson was over, Jane suddenly stood up while pulling David's hand.
"Let's have lunch," she said.
Her expression was like she was forcing David to have lunch with her.
With a quiet laugh, David nodded, standing up to follow her.
He grasped the palm of her hand that was holding his.
They headed towards the cafeteria after exiting the university building.
David was quite surprised to see Aurora heading there as well. She looked relaxed, as if the matter with the dean was over.
On the other hand, the university grounds were also starting to be cleaned up by officials who had come from nowhere.
Seeing David, Aurora smiled slightly, but she immediately got a sharp look from Jane. It was enough to make her heart stop beating.
She swallowed her saliva, quickly turning her gaze in another direction, knowing that now was not her time with David because there was the Empress beside him. A concubine must know how to behave or be kicked out of the palace.
For fear of offending Jane, Aurora even decided to turn the other way instead of the cafeteria.
David and Jane sat by the window, ordering a cup of coffee and some toast and meat.
They ate leisurely, but life is always full of twists and turns.
While they were eating, a sports car suddenly arrived. It was a Lamborghini, the latest and most luxurious series.
The exhaust was so loud that the air seemed to vibrate.
Saying that he was Jane's fiancé was probably not an exaggeration since the family elders had already made arrangements between him and Jane. It's just that there may not have been an inauguration so he didn't refer to Jane as his fiancée.
What's interesting is that he doesn't try to be gentle with Jane. Instead, he scolded her for her behavior.
"That's my business," Jane replied and then casually stuffed a piece of bread into her mouth after she answered.
"Do you want to be a concubine?" Lancelot became more annoyed so his words became harsher.
"You're wrong, I'm the empress, and the empress doesn't care about the concubines under her," Jane replied.
"You've been indoctrinated by ignorance," Lancelot replied.
Becoming more annoyed, he finally turned his gaze to David.
His eyes became very cold. If he let go of spiritual power even for a moment, this cafeteria would probably become a mess because David could sense the great power hidden deep within him.
Many young men from the Rothschild Family wanted to marry Jane, but the elders preferred him to be Jane's husband. This showed that his strength was above average.
The others were probably one level below him.
Of course, David who had become much stronger had no concerns about her gaze.
"What?" he said, immediately speaking in response.
"You seem to have courage," Lancelot said after David spoke.
"I have courage and fear, like any normal human," David replied, quite casually.
"However, you are not the kind that can arouse my fears," he added.
Someone came to intimidate him, he would naturally challenge that person without holding back.
Pa!
Lancelot put his hand on the table, a seemingly simple gesture but it actually made the table post crack. If the table was pressed too hard, it would have shattered instantly.
"Your name is David, you live with your older sister named Audrey, a lecturer at this university," he said, which immediately made David knit his brows.
He was quite disturbed that he was talking about his older sister.
"Lance, if you dare to involve others, don't think you and your family will be safe either." Jane spoke again.
Lancelot was clearly trying to threaten David, and Jane couldn't keep quiet. She threatened Lancelot back.
"No one can stop my anger. I will kill his sister first before killing him," Lancelot replied.
He was surprisingly direct with his threat, not just using vague words.
After he said that, he suddenly turned around.
David was of course immediately filled with rage.
Someone could threaten to kill him, but threatening to kill his sister was something that went beyond his limits. He would fight madly in a situation like this.
However, just as he was about to stand up, Jane suddenly grabbed his hand that was on the table.
"Don't go after him," she said to David.
Although filled with rage, David was still able to calm down when Jane asked him to.
He took one deep breath and asked, "did that man mean what he said?"
"Yes." Jane nodded lightly. "Lancelot is very emotional, hot-tempered, and impulsive, as you can see. However, we are now in a safe situation. Your sister is also at this university, Lancelot will not act while I am here."
"Then we might need to attack him first," said David.
