Enzo chose to remain silent when Evan spoke even though he wasn't afraid of him.
He only looked more annoyed that the man didn't look like he would agree with his suggestion.
Without considering his personal grudge against David, he felt that arresting David was indeed the most reasonable choice for the sake of this family.
No matter what, it was a fact that David was using their family power.
All eyes were now on Evan, waiting for him to say something. They wanted to know what he was going to talk about.
"I actually got a message from the elders a while ago," Evan said, surprising them all.
In fact, many of them didn't even know why none of the elders were present.
This was an important matter, so what were they doing?
Enzo knitted his brows at Evan's words.
It made him uncomfortable that the elders were preferring to send messages through him, which meant they were starting to like him more.
Before this, it was almost always him who received messages from the elders if there was important business.
Of course, she realized it was because of his defeat with David that his reputation in the eyes of everyone in the family had plummeted.
"What did they say?" Enzo finally asked the question for Evan to say right away.
Evan relaxed enough to look at him and continued, "They said they'll decide on the matter. Tomorrow, they'll tell us their decision. For now, we don't need to keep arguing about what we need to do, just wait for the elders' decision."
This time, everyone was naturally more surprised.
The elders were in fact the ones who would make the decision on this matter.
Although this was indeed a big problem, there should be no need for excessive discussion.
However, there was something that made everyone in the mansion confused to the point of looking at each other with strange expressions.
This was because Evan spoke as if the elders were gathering right now somewhere.
Why were they gathered?
Of course, those people knew that there was no way they were gathered like that just to talk about David.
If they had gathered to talk about him, they could have come here directly.
"What do you have to worry about. No one can threaten me here," he said, continuing to chuckle.
He didn't even lower his voice so that some people could hear him.
They couldn't help but be annoyed by his arrogance. This made Evan knit his brows.
"Hmph, an arrogant youngster who doesn't know his own limits. You'll probably die wondering if you died." Someone responded to David's words which was very surprising to David himself because it came from the woman standing slightly behind him.
Who else if not Evelyn.
She gave him a cold and dismissive look as he stared at her.
After that, she turned around and took a step.
"Who are you calling not knowing his limits?" Jane was apparently upset by her mother's words.
She questioned her in a rather cold tone.
However, Evelyn did not respond. She kept walking until she disappeared from their sight.
David couldn't be more astonished than now, wondering if the woman was serious or pretending. How could she scold him? Wasn't he her dear lover?
Of course, David knew that there was a possibility that she was faking, just to show that they were not really familiar, just met.
"Uhmm..." He cleared his throat, looking at Jane.
"I should be fine, you can go in peace. This place is very spacious, I think I can relax comfortably," he said with a faint smile.
After he said that, Jane finally calmed down enough.
She nodded and looked at her uncle, signaling to him that she was ready to go.
The two then took a step towards the right side of the mansion.
Without them by his side, David ended up being alone in this mansion.
The amount of people staring at him didn't make him uncomfortable.
He started thinking about the place where he would go.
Apparently, Arthur came and approached him.
He seemed to have heard what happened here from the others.
