A larger strength would be more effective.
Using both his hands, Lu Lixing grabbed hold of the Napoleon Wrasse. The fish stopped flapping for a moment. “Quick quick quick, put it on the chopping board!” Ji Qingqing immediately exclaimed.
A second later, the Napoleon Wrasse’s tail started thrashing vigorously, as it tried to escape Lu Lixing’s grip.
Ji Qingqing stepped forward and helped Lu Lixing hold down the fish’s moving tail. It’s strength was way too large and she was barely able to hold its tail down. Annoyed, she yelled at it, “Stop moving!”
The two of them worked together and pinned the Napoleon Wrasse on the chopping board. Lu Lixing raised the knife and brought his hand down. It was a very cruel knife that dismembered the Napoleon Wrasse’s head from it’s body.
The live fish lay still on the chopping board, leaving itself in the hands of Lu Lixing.
Ji Qingqing looked at Lu Lixing. “Why did you cut off it’s head?”
Lu Lixing’s face could no longer turn anymore darker than it already was. He forced the two words out his mouth. “Killing—fish.”
“...Then you should cut open the stomach and remove the insides instead. You just sliced off the head like that, you’re so cruel!”
Lu Lixing raised the blood-stained knife and gazed at her. He lightly asked “I’m cruel?”
Ji Qingqing fell silent for a moment. Then she replied, “While you’re at that you should remove it’s stomach too.”
Lu Lixing mercilessly sliced opened the Napoleon Wrasse belly. After removing it’s guts he proceeded to place it into the steamer to steam.
But didn’t Lu Lixing say that the hotel’s kitchen was on leave?
“Who is it?” Lu Lixing’s voice sounded from behind her.
Ji Qingqing opened the door and invited the two of them in.
“It’s Qin Yue and Wen Rou, they’re here to deliver food to me.” Ji Qingqing looked at him, “Didn’t you mention that the hotel’s kitchen was on leave?”
Lu Lixing put down the plate of Napoleon Wrasse. His face stiffened and he turned around calmly as if nothing had happened. Lying through his teeth, he replied. “They probably finished repairing after I made the call.”
Ji Qingqing muttered softly to herself but did not continue dwelling on her suspicions. She ushered Qin Yue and Wen Rou into the room
Lu Lixing stood near the dining table and looked at the two of them. He narrowed his eyes slightly and asked. “Delivering food?”
Both Qin Yue and Wen Rou’s footsteps paused and they simultaneously stopped in their tracks.
Under their gazes, Lu Lixing calmly untied the pink apron that he had yet to take off. After removing it, he stared coldly at two of them.
Qin Yue was still able to slightly control his expression. Meanwhile, Wen Rou’s gaze followed Lixing’s movements as he removed the apron. The expression of ‘President Lu, you can actually cook?’ was literally plastered on her face.
“Coming at the right time beats coming earlier, we’ve just finished cooking. What are you spacing out for, come sit down!”
