He said, "The student who has secured the position of second runner-up with twenty-four thousand five hundred sixty battle points is Alex from the Golden Guardians Team of Golden Knight Academy."
Alex, from The Golden Guardians team, stood up from his seat, his face painted with confusion and frustration. Despite being third in the ranking, he couldn't believe that he had only come as second runner-up.
Alex couldn't help but ask, his voice ringing out with mana enchantment, "This can't be right. There must be some mistake. I can't be only third."
The murmurs in the audience grew louder as the boy from Golden Guardians spoke out of turn, his face etched with disbelief. The officials and his own headmaster shot him disapproving looks, but the boy remained undeterred.
As the tension in the room mounted, the old man fixed his cold gaze on the boy and posed the question, "And why, pray tell, is it not possible?"
"I don't understand how I could be third. Our team was ranked second overall and all of my teammates willingly gave me their battle points to ensure my victory. There's simply no way that I could have only placed as the second runner-up," he protested.
The old man sighed as his gaze shifted to the headmaster of the Golden Knight Academy, disappointment painted on his face, shaking his head at Alex's foolish behavior.
"I understand your frustration, young man, But the results have been thoroughly calculated and verified. We take the integrity of this tournament very seriously." The old man said calmly.
Alex's face twisted in anger. "But sir, there must be some mistake! My team and I worked so hard to get here."
The old man's expression became stoic, "It's a shame that your team used an underhanded method to make you the second runner-up. For now, sit down. There is no mistake with your result."
"But..." Alex's voice trailed off as he saw his school's headmaster's icy expression. He swallowed hard, realizing his mistake, and slowly sat back down. He didn't know that the old man's presence, who was standing on the podium, exuded power and authority, and no one dared to be so bold in front of him.
Lucas' face was downcast as he turned to Sophia and muttered, "It seems like we've lost again this year..."
The announcement was a disappointment for the students of Golden Seal Military School as they realized their school teams didn't make it to the top five, and their names were left unannounced. They had entered the tournament with low expectations, not believing they had a chance to take first place.
The faces of students from the Golden Seal Military School were all dull as they were crestfallen for not getting into the top five this year again.
The old man continued, "After reading the envelope I was surprised and didn't expect someone to actually score such a high score as First runnerup. The student who broke past records and became the third highest-scoring student in the history of this tournament is none other than Naila Mailon from the Golden Seal Academy."
As the old man announced the third highest-scoring student in history, Naila Mailon from the Golden Seal Academy, all eyes turned towards the Magenta-haired beauty sitting among the Golden Military School students.
Her striking appearance, combined with her incredible achievement, made her the center of attention.
Her teammates, who had been feeling downhearted after not making it to the top, were now looking at her with shock and amazement. They never expected Nyla to become the first runner-up, especially since she was only part of a small team of two.
Lucas and Sophia, who were sitting next to Nyla, couldn't contain their excitement. Sophia immediately jumped up and gave Nyla a big hug, while Lucas cheered loudly.
It was a moment of pure joy and celebration for the Golden Seal Academy students, who had finally achieved their long-awaited victory.
The cheers of her teammates echoed throughout the hall as they exclaimed, "We have won... We finally won..."
Her schoolmate was delighted as Nyla had helped them regain the glory that was once brought to their school by their senior, Lily Havenglow.
The headmaster's eyes shone with pride as he stood up, his smile spreading wide as he looked toward Nyla. He felt a sense of satisfaction that one of his school's students had achieved such great achievement, bringing honor to the school.
Talia's expression turned ashen, her eyes widening in disbelief. She had already been under immense annoyance during the tournament, with her teammates praising her step-sister for saving their lives.
But now, this Nyla had surpassed all expectations and become the first runner-up, making history by achieving the third-highest score ever recorded. The weight of this revelation was almost too much for Talia to bear.
After the cheering sounds began to reduce, the retired General Stevenson spoke with a soft smile, "Today, we have the honor of witnessing a momentous occasion. A student has carved their name in history, shattering the past record held by Lily Havenglow herself who had scored ninety-five thousand two hundred battle points three years ago.
With an incredible two hundred forty-five thousand six hundred battle points, the first place in this national military school tournament goes to"
The old man's voice reverberated across the room as he paused to announce the winner of the national military school tournament. All the students held their breath as they waited for the name to be called.
Today's national military tournament witnessed an unprecedented high score, surpassing any previous record in its history. The average highest score for a winner in the past was a mere forty thousand, yet today's winner's score was an astronomical two hundred forty-five thousand six hundred.
The crowd held their breath in anticipation, wondering who could have possibly achieved such an incredible feat.
