Yet, beneath the sinister laughter and malice, her eyes held a glint of hidden pain, as if she had been betrayed. There was a sorrow that she tried to conceal, an unspoken anguish that whispered of heartache and loss.
In the darkness, her eyes sparkled with a sinister allure, hinting at the depth of her malice and cunning. With each laugh, she wove a tapestry of deceit and betrayal, her mind alight with the thrill of the hunt. She had waited for this moment with eager longing, relishing the thought of finally putting an end to the lives of her beloved enemies.
However, the sorrow she concealed added a layer of complexity to her long-desired goals, suggesting that her actions were not solely driven by malice, but also by a deep-seated need for retribution or redemption.
As the candlelight flickered and the room grew darker still, the machinations of this sinister force continued to unfold, unbeknownst to the world that eagerly followed the tale of the hero's child.
However, amidst all the chaos, Rio was alone in his bedroom in the land of Asura, lost in thought as he gazed at the ceiling. His mind wandered back to the enigmatic blue-haired lady who had whispered to him, "We will meet again, my baby."
With the revelation that he was the child of Amirah Havenglow, Rio began to understand that the stunning, mysterious woman who had saved him, far more beautiful than Aliyah, was none other than his own mother.
This realization filled him with both joy and confusion. If his mother was indeed alive, where had she been all this time? Why were there rumors of his parents disappearing after battling the Dhovrix race?
These questions stirred within Rio's mind, creating a whirlwind of emotions that left him feeling restless and longing for answers. He couldn't help but feel a tinge of bitterness at the thought that his mother had been absent from his life for 16 long years. However, he tried to quell those feelings by considering that she might have had a valid reason for her absence.
As the truth remained shrouded in mystery, Rio knew that all he could do was wait patiently for the day when he would finally be reunited with his mother. In the meantime, he held onto the hope that their paths would intersect once more, and that he would be able to get all his answers, and more importantly, meet his mother once again.
Days turned into weeks, and Layla gradually grew accustomed to her new life within the castle. She explored its magnificent halls, befriending the maids and guards and delving into the intricacies of the Asura world through the libraries.
This was different from Rio's and Nyla's initial arrival, where they didn't put in as much effort to understand this world. Nyla was given a tour by Helia, while Rio was given a tour by Lia or the emperor himself.
One evening, as Layla and the company were gathered in Nyla's bedroom, she couldn't help but bring up a concern that had been weighing on her mind.
She began hesitantly, and spoke in a serene tone, expressing her concern, "I have been thinking about the human prisoners held captive in Asura territory. Isn't it possible that by imprisoning innocent humans, we're only reinforcing their negative perception of the Asura people?
To avoid the future threat you mentioned, wouldn't it be better to release them and show our goodwill? We could inform them that they are being released by order of the Asura Empress, and this would create a positive image of Lia, reducing the hatred humans feel for her."
Nyla, Rio, Helia, and Lia exchanged looks, furrowing their brows as they contemplated the girl's suggestion.
In the end, Lia agreed, "You have a good point But this is a matter worth discussing with father first."
Later, Lia discussed Layla's suggestion with her father. Initially, Dylan expressed reluctance, but the combined persuasion of Helia and Lia eventually swayed him. With a heavy sigh, he conceded, "Alright, we'll release the human prisoners. But we must be cautious in our approach."
Under the bright daylight, the enigmatic masked man, who was none other than the white-haired boy, carried out his mission with the full authority of the emperor supporting him. He traveled openly from one city to another, accompanied by a large number of royal guards and riding in a luxurious royal carriage, making his way to the various prisons where the human captives were held.
As he approached the first prison, the captives gazed at him curiously and asked, "Why are you releasing us?"
The white-haired boy, who had become known to many in the Shamor Empire after a recent royal banquet, replied calmly, "It is by my wife's order. She desires for you to return to your world and to avoid coming back to Asura lands. Should you find the need to return, you must head to the corrupted land, far from the borders of the Shamor Empire."
Upon hearing the white-haired boy's words, the captives were filled with a sense of wonder and gratitude towards the unknown benefactor who had granted them their freedom.
Their voices trembled with emotion as they asked, "Who is this kind and powerful lady who has the authority to release us and send us back to our world?"
With a hint of pride and love in his voice, the boy answered, "My wife is the Asura Empress."
The captives' eyes widened in shock, their mouths gaping as they processed the information. A moment later, their expressions transformed from disbelief to relief and happiness as they realized they were going to return to their homes.
Overcome with emotion, they said in awe, "Her grace and generosity are truly remarkable. May the heavens bestow happiness and a long life upon her, and bless her with all the good things in the world."
