Chapter 124: Devouring All, The Bloodline Evolution of the Demonic Dragon (II)

Chapter 124: Devouring All, The Bloodline Evolution of the Demonic Dragon (II)

Are we almost there?

With renewed vigor, the Sword Beast swiftly accelerated, its tail lashing out as it caught up with the orca.

Soon, they encountered a rift stretching several kilometers, with a width of only six meters at its widest point. Most of the rift was over two hundred meters deep.

Beneath the crevice, molten magma roiled, emitting a dim red glow.

The scorching heat from the magma caused the surrounding seawater to boil and churn, while harmful gasses rose to the surface, forming bubbles that continuously erupted and rendered the seabed somewhat murky.

In the depths of the rift, around the magma, over a dozen red eels of varying lengths coiled. The shortest was only eight meters long, while the longest stretched to twenty-one meters.

These mutated creatures roamed within the seabed rift, ingesting the scorching lava sent up by the surging magma below. Faint flames seemed to dance upon their crimson scales, and their heads were broad and dragon-like. They all emanated a dangerous aura, especially the three largest eels, each exceeding fifteen meters in length.

Squeak! Squeak! Squeak! The mutated orca slowly circled above the rift, emitting low cries. It slightly angled its horn, pointing towards the deepest part of the rift.

There, golden magma churned, with several red, halo-emitting stones floating within.

Upon seeing those stones, the Sword Beast’s eyes turned red involuntarily, and the suppressed ferocity within it suddenly erupted. Something was compelling it to devour those stones and eliminate any creatures that stood in its way.

Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!

The Single-horned Orca emitted urgent calls, its voice tinged with anxiety.

Roar! The Sword Beast suppressed the primal urge and emitted a low growl, signaling to the orca that it was fine.

Roar! Roar!

Squeak! Squeak! Squeak!

In the dimly lit abyss of the deep sea, the Sword ABeast let out a low roar, its deep voice carrying a faint spiritual ripple through the seawater.

Through this journey of communication, it was beginning to grasp some kind of beast language that was essentially conveyed through spiritual thoughts. After incorporating some spiritual fluctuations into their voices, these powerful mutated beasts could perceive each other’s intended meanings through telepathy.

However, this form of communication required high levels of intelligence and strength from the mutated beasts, enough to integrate their spiritual thoughts into their voices.

The content of communication also couldn't be too complex. If the Sword Beast was to instruct the orca to clap its hands, the orca would definitely not understand, as it had no word nor even concept for hands; such terminology and anatomy was human.

Currently, both sides could only engage in simple communication, such as expressing knowledge, understanding, and agreeing to work together to eliminate the red creatures, then sharing any valuable items they obtained.

With low growls, the Sword Beast and the orca reached an agreement. The Sword Beast would lure the powerful eels out of the rift, while the orca would take on the task of defeating them. Their carcasses would be divided, with two of them allocated to the Sword Beast.

Initially, the Sword Beast had intended to claim all of the carcasses for itself. However, the orca also knew that the flesh of those mutated eels was also a valuable resource. It refused to yield, insisting on taking them back to feed the young orcas.

In the end, after the Sword Beast argued that only it could descend into the rift, the orca reluctantly agreed to let the beast take the two largest carcasses, while it would claim the rest.

Roar! The Sword Beast's black, ferocious form burst forth from the darkness, swiftly charging into the depths of the underwater rift.

Meanwhile, the massive orca slowly retreated, lurking in the dark waters behind and patiently waiting.

Within the rift, the water was murky and scorching, with temperatures rising as the depth increased. When the Sword Beast descended to fifty meters, the temperature surpassed the boiling point of water, reaching over a hundred degrees Celsius. Thankfully, the Sword Beast’s current durability allowed it to pay no heed to such temperatures and freely continue further down.

The underwater rift stretched for several kilometers, and with the Sword Beast blending in with the murky bubbles along the edges, the eels failed to take notice of it.

At the bottom of the rift, amid the searing murky water, the Sword Beast slowly approached an eel that was eleven meters long and thicker than a water barrel.

The eel was gaping its mouth wide open, gulping down the searing organic matter that surged up from the magma rolling several meters below.

At this point, only four eels over ten meters long and three over fifteen meters long were still struggling. The strongest eel managed to reach the edge of the whirlpool.

This was the weakness of wide-range abilities; the larger the range, the more the destructive power was dispersed.

Just as the strongest eel broke free and the other two eels reached the edge of the whirlpool, the battle-experienced orca suddenly snapped its huge jaws shut.

Bang!

Under the tremendous recoil force, the rapidly spinning whirlpool of seawater exploded with a deafening roar, causing water currents to surge and whip the eels about.

In the chaotic turbulence of the water, the orca surged forward, smashing through the currents and rushing towards the stunned eels with its mouth wide open.

Boom!

The water exploded as the two eleven-meter-long eels were instantly severed by the biting force, their fragmented remains dispersing in all directions.

Three pillars of blazing fire suddenly pierced through the chaotic water, emitting intense heat as they fiercely struck the back, head, and sides of the orca's body. Its tough black scales gradually cracked under the roasting heat, and signs of melting even began to appear.

However, for the twenty-eight-meter-long, robust-bodied orca, the burns, one to two meters in width, only caused it some discomfort.

With a flick of its tail, the massive body suddenly shifted sideways, fiercely charging towards the mutated eels spewing flames several dozen meters away.

Under the powerful force, the water exploded, and the three eels were flung by the mutated orca.

The size difference between the two sides was too significant, not only in body length, but also in width and thickness. The twenty-eight-meter-long orca’s carrying capacity was of times that of the longest eel.

The three now infuriated eels emitted angry growls. Driven by their ferocity, they disregarded their rank and size disadvantage and charged towards the orca like three red dragons.

While the three largest eels battled the orca, a black shadow shot out from the darkness.

In the blink of an eye, the Sword Beast traversed several hundred meters, fiercely pouncing towards a twelve-meter-long eel that had been rolled to the edge of the battlefield by the raging waves.

As a mutated beast, this eel was extremely ferocious. Seeing the Sword Beast pouncing towards it, it opened its mouth, revealing sharp fangs, and lunged forward to bite the Sword Beast's neck with the speed of a python.

The Sword Beast, however, was faster. Its jet-black, razor-sharp right claw tore through the water, and with a thunderous blow, it bursted the eel's head, scattering countless droplets of blood and remains, as the headless body limply floated in the water.

Mutated beasts of the same size had no chance against the Sword Beast. After killing it instantly, the beast shot out again, targeting another twelve-meter-long eel.

After witnessing its counterpart being killed in an instant, and now seeing the ferocious beast pouncing towards it, the eel panicked and fled in haste, desperately trying to get back to the rift.

In its mind, the safest place was the seabed rift where the magma churned, but it had completely forgotten that the black mutated beast could also descend there.

However, just as the eel swam out for a few dozen meters, the black beast pounced on it with even faster speed. Its massive claws directly slammed down towards the gaping mouth of the eel as it was turning back around to defend itself.

Boom!

The eel’s upper and lower jaws exploded under the horrific power, followed by half of its head being smashed to pieces. Countless fragments of flesh and blood splattered everywhere, and the surrounding water became even more turbid and crimson.

In the dim water, the beast floated beside the eel’s body, emitting a savage aura as it turned to look into the distance.

Only two of the largest eels remained locked in battle with the orca, though calling it a battle would be misleading; it was more like a one-sided suppression. The orca paid no attention to their attacks, its massive body charging and biting relentlessly.

Once caught in its enormous jaws, the eels couldn't withstand the tremendous biting force at all. Truth be told, the only reason the Sword Beast hadn’t slaughtered this group on its own was because of not knowing at first what abilities they were capable of.

Seeing the massive and agile orca suppressing the two remaining eels, the Sword Beast didn't intervene. Instead, it swiftly turned its body and plunged back into the underwater rift, passing through the rolling gasses until it was above the golden magma.

The water temperature here had already reached over two hundred degrees Celsius, and while the sea appeared calm, it was actually boiling incessantly. Even the Sword Beast felt somewhat uncomfortable down here; while it possessed massive density and unparalleled strength, it was still made of flesh and blood.

Watching the four blood-red stones float in the magma, the Sword Beast suppressed its biological instincts. At the same time, back at the school, Chen Chu raised his head slightly. By now, there were several other students reading books in the spacious room.
