Hello, everyone. This is Narcissus.
And I happen to stumble upon the fact that I was housing a rather peculiar entity within my very own soul.
"And instead of delving into her origin, you're asking her preferences of mundane things in order to set a healthy foundation, huh."
"I learned a lot about you thanks to Daffodil," Kuzunoha slyly curved her lips, as if she had just uncovered a crucial weakness of mine. "It shed a brand new light to my eyes."
Not to mention, Kuzuonoha proposed to name this entity 'Daffodil' out of every name after she introduced herself as Narcissus.
Huh, should I even care that a daffodil flower exists in this world? Also, how did Kuzunoha know that daffodil is another name for a narcissus flower? Was she knowledgeable of the Greek myth itself?
Regardless, finding out that I have a so-called unknown persona that was experiencing everything that was experiencing—was quite a shocker.
Verina, who was trustworthy enough to be in this conversation, decided to raise her hand. "You said that this Daffodil possesses a synchronized preference and train of thought with Narcy. If so, then what is Narcy's food preference?"
Kuzunoha's grin twisted into something wicked, her finger playfully tracing the air. "Narcissus is fine with everything. However, she will enjoy a much more refined atmosphere and dining experience rather than the taste of the food itself."
And she was right! I do love dining in those ridiculously overpriced restaurants where the real allure isn't the food, but the experience.
I only went through 3 instances of those experiences back when I was still Lothair, and I honestly want to enjoy more of them, no matter how expensive they were.
In front of Verina and Kuzunoha, my face was quite flustered right now. The realization hit me hard—one of my own aides now had access to an insider who seemed to know every intimate detail about me. It made me uneasy, wondering what this might mean for our relationship moving forward.
And n6w look at that conniving fox, Kuzunoha! She was enjoying this reaction of mine. No, she was downright savoring it, with far more enthusiasm than usual!
Sensing this was her chance to dig deeper,, Verina removed the break of her tongue before stomping on the gas. "What is Narcy's favorite color?"
"It used to be green, but now she leans a bit more toward gold."
"Does she have any embarrassing secrets?"
"Oh, her ears are extremely sensitive."
"What's Narcy's type when it comes to a partner?"
"Useful, considerate, attentive, and proactive."
"In terms of appearance?"
"She's quite flexible—she's attracted to both ends of a few spectrums. Narcy likes both very tall and very short women. The same goes for body types—she's drawn to extremes, whether it's a full figure or a petite frame. Thick thighs with a small waist, though? That's a particular favorite. And of course, the classic hourglass figure never goes unappreciated."
"Hmm, what about facial features?"

Kuzunoha chuckled mischievously. "Oh, Narcissus? She doesn't care much about faces. After all, she considers herself the most beautiful in all of Carcosa. But not being ugly by typical standards? That's definitely a plus."
"What kind of questions were you asking her?!" I burst out, unable to restrain myself. Hearing these two uncovering all my mundane secrets made me feel more vulnerable than an ant under a magnifying glass. "At least have the decency to talk about this somewhere else! Not in front of me!" Sёarᴄh the nôᴠel Fire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
"But, Narcissus." Verina's eyes flicked toward me with a playful glint, as if stating the obvious. "How could we admire your reactions if we weren't discussing it with you right here?"
"I agree with the kilnalan, darling~" Kuzunoha playfully giggled. "What makes this conversation feel sweet and exquisite is because we're able to watch and admire your flustered face."
"AAA-! I don't want to hear it anymore!"
But regardless of my plea, they continued with their playful harassment.
If they weren't much useful nor trustworthy to me by any means, I won't tolerate the slightest of such behavior. Because as much as I want them to just stop, this unveiling event was greatly increasing their moods and opinion of one another.
Although, most of them were greatly targeted towards me.
Right now, Verina has 223 points of favorability in her relationship with me, and 10 points to Kuzunoha.
As for Kuzunoha, her favorability with me is 167 which skyrocketed from 30 when the first contract was established. Her opinion of Verina was actually 25 which was surprising.
I don't meet many people in this world yet, so I don't have any reference to gauge how meaningful these numbers were. Regardless, I would very much prefer to keep these numbers high.
And right now, adhering to their blatant attempt of teasing and flirting was the right choice for that kind of direction. Not to mention, they seem to adore getting all sorts of genuine reactions from me, which should serve for a healthy foundation for our relationships.
Not to mention, there was also still that plan of making a harem if I happen to be fated with more than one beloved partner.
"This day shall be marked as the day where the wall of Narcissus has fallen," Verina said with such a smug aura. "I don't know if we will ever maintain this kind of development, but I'm glad that it even happened in the first place."
Kuzunoha, ever the fox, grinned wider, her lips curling into that sly, knowing smirk she always wore. "Indeed. It's not every day we get to see the serious, fake-smiling, stern Narcissus herself so... vulnerable." She lingered on the word, her voice dripping with amusement.
Vulnerable? Me? The idea was laughable at first, but here I was, feeling very much like a cornered animal. The worst part was that they were both right. Whether it was the sudden revelation of Daffodil or simply the fact that they were discussing things I kept from everyone right in front of me.
I wonder if this was the outcome that Daffodil wanted. After all, she should be experiencing my thoughts and emotions at this very moment.
A black-haired faceless lady in a suit—it was definitely not the kind of person I would imagine to have as an alter ego for someone like Narcissus.
Then again, I felt like Daffodil being faceless had something to do with this suppressed obsession of mine.
If only I could meet her directly and talk to her face to face.
I suggested this to Kuzunoha before the conversation became a full-blown teasing fest. But apparently, it would be quite complicated for my consciousness to be in the same realm as Daffodil, especially in that world where Kuzunoha described it as impossible to exist.
