Chapter 116: The Chunin Exams - 42

After letting Daiki know which room Sakura and Naruto currently occupied, Kakashi cheerily disappeared with a shunshin, off to go...most likely take the piss out of Sasuke while they waited on him to heal up Sakura.

'That guy's good.' Daiki begrudgingly accepted. He had a counter for literally everything the tan genin threw at him, verbally at least.

He'd have to work on his material if he wanted to rinse the crap out of the famous copy ninja it seemed.

Just another thing to add to the grind.

As always, the grind was eternal.

Putting Kakashi out of mind, Daiki made his way towards the room he was directed to, down the hall.

Team Seven it seemed had picked a room near the middle.

Not that they would get to enjoy it much. It seemed there was only, roughly twelve hours or so before the second round ended and the third round began.

Then again, the rooms were utter crap anyway.

Stopping in front of the door, he wrapped it with his knuckles. He probably could have just walked in and gave Sakura a good startling for a laugh, but, he had manners.

...Sometimes.

"Eh, come in?" Sakura's voice called out, echoing from behind the door.

Accepting the invitation, Daiki opened the door and stepped in, shutting it behind him. He was immediately greeted by loud snoring. Naruto was in the bed closest the bathroom, fast asleep, sprawled out messily, drool trickling from his mouth, down his chin and onto the pillow he was snuggling.

Sakura herself was sitting at the edge of the middle bed, both arms held together in a set of slings made from bandages.

"Daiki?" she blinked, looking surprised to see him, "What are you doing here?"

"What do you think I'm doing here?" he raised an eyebrow at her, "I'm obviously here to check in on my favourite pink haired lady friend." The initial posting of this chapter occurred via Ñøv€l-B!n.

"I'm the only pink haired girl you know, it's not exactly a common hair colour." she replied, giving him a deadpan look.

"That you know of." he shrugged.

Sakura sighed in relief as the mystical palm jutsu numbed the pain in her arms. And Daiki whistled as he got a good look at the damage she'd done to herself.

Her wrists were snapped of course, but beyond that, there were multiple fractures spreading up from her hands to through her forearms.

"Better?" he grinned at her.

"Much, thanks," she smiled, her face seeming to be much less strained now, "And I really do need to thank you for the jutsu you gave me, without it, I wouldn't have been able to beat that bitchy sound girl and they might have killed us before Sasuke-kun woke up."

"Not a problem, I'm a generous guy like that," he waved off her thanks, before his grin turned impish, "Though if you're dead set on thanking me, I'm a big fan of lap dances."

Sakura sighed, "And you ruined it."

"Hey, at least I'm consistent," he shrugged it off, "Besides, I'm mostly joking anyway, while I'd love a lap dance from you and that awesome ass of yours, I'm just giving you a hard time for a laugh."

"No, no I think a hard time is exactly what you want to give me." she responded, voice dry, eyebrows raising almost challengingly at him.

He blinked, actually surprised and almost taken aback by Sakura throwing some innuendo his way.

Sakura with the banter, huh?

Nice.

"Well, you're not wrong," Daiki laughed, "I'd love to give you a real hard time. All night long in fact. I'm free right now in fact if you're up for it."

"You're such a pervert," she snorted, shaking her head, "Honestly, you should be more careful. What would you do if I accepted? And no, fucking me isn't an acceptable answer, I'm talking about after that fact."

Daiki opened his mouth to respond, before pausing. He wasn't at all expecting her to be so blunt about it, that his shtick.

And also-

Because he actually didn't have an answer for that.

Railing her into the bed and making her scream his name to the heavens was one thing. But, the after fact was something different. For one, he couldn't promise her anything.

Because he'd already more or less lined things up with Tenten to see about how their relationship would progress.
