Chapter 37: Twin Tornadoes

After disposing of the trash, the man said, "I have an extra security door. Should we install it and block the corridor? I bet the people downstairs will be moving up in a few days."

Yao Ran glanced at the rain outside and then thought of the stench in the corridor on the second floor. As the rain continued to fall with no sign of stopping, it was only a matter of time before water levels flooded the floors below.

With no place to live and no food to eat, sooner or later, some troublemaker will come and rob their houses. Instead of waiting for them to come, it is better to be prepared and strengthen the security on the 20th floor.

After thinking for a while, Yao Ran nodded and said, "I agree with you."

She then turned to look at Zhou Ruilin and asked, "What do you think?"

Zhou Ruilin did not object and said, "I will follow you two."

After making a decision, the man said, "My name is Long Yu. We should work together to protect the 20th floor."

Yao Ran nodded to him and introduced herself, "You can call me Yao Ran."

"My name is Zhou Ruilin. My husband is a firefighter, and we have a son." Zhou Ruilin also introduced herself.

Long Yu nodded, "I will go back to get the door."

With that, he returned to his apartment. Seeing Zhou Ruilin's pale and exhausted face, Yao Ran said, "I will help him. You can go back and take care of your son."

For wonton soup, she only needs to prepare the soup and then take out a package of wontons that has been prepared in advance. While the soup was simmering, Yao Ran prepared cucumbers.

She washed the cucumbers and smashed them with a kitchen knife. Then, she cut them into bite-sized pieces and set them aside.

Just as she was preparing the sauce for the cucumber salad, the soup was ready, and Yao Ran put the wontons in it. After the wontons were half-cooked, Yao Ran mixed the cucumbers into the salad sauce. Afterward, she sprinkled a pinch of sesame seeds on top of the cucumber salad.

The spicy cucumber salad is ready, and the wontons are cooked. Yao Ran poured the wonton soup into a bowl and left the kitchen with the bowl and a plate of spicy cucumber salad.

While Yao Ran was enjoying her late breakfast, the rain that had already lightened up became heavier again, and the water level continued to rise.

As soon as Yao Ran took the first bite of plump meat and vegetable wontons, screams came from outside. Sensing something was wrong, she put down the chopsticks and hurried to the balcony.

Yao Ran's breathing became tight when she found out why those people outside were screaming in panic. She quickly took out her binoculars and observed the situation.

At this moment, two identical tornadoes spun in opposite directions as if they were dancing with each other. Wherever they go, they tear off trees, bring down buildings, throw cars into the air, and even suck up floodwaters.

The two tornadoes were approaching quickly, and the rapidly rotating wind was like countless sharp blades crushing everything in its path.

"Ah! Help!"

Yao Ran watched as the pair of tornadoes destroyed one building after another in the blink of an eye, killing countless people. Judging from their direction, if they do not change course, Building 3 will disappear in a few minutes.

If she had left the apartment now, she might still have had a chance to survive. However, the extreme cold is coming, and without a house to protect her from the cold, she is doomed. Yao Ran gritted her teeth, and her mind spun rapidly.

Before she could make a decision, the two tornadoes collided violently. They fought and merged their powers, sliced through a skyscraper, devoured it, and the tall building disappeared without a trace.
