Chapter 212: Parasitic Infection
When Yao Ran and Long Yu just finished their morning training, they heard Huang Qian's voice coming from outside. Curious, the two went out to take a look.Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Opening the metal door, Yao Ran saw Huang Qian limping down from the rooftop. She noticed the blood on the floor and said, "Long Yu, he is injured. Please bring him in so I can take a look at the wounds."
"Alright." Long Yu then approached Huang Qian and said, "A Qian, let Ran Ran check your foot."
Huang Qian endured the pain and nodded quickly. Sitting on the sofa in Yao Ran's living room, he looked at the planting pots on the balcony and asked, "Did Yao Ran plant vegetables again?"
Yao Ran came out from her bedroom with a medicine box and overheard his question. She sat in front of him and replied, "I planted some sunflowers. Vegetables won't be able to survive in this temperature."
Putting her medicine box on the low table, she looked at Huang Qian and asked, "Can you take off your shoes?"
Huang Qian bent down and slowly removed his shoes while grimacing in pain. A few minutes later, Yao Ran inspected his soles and used scissors to cut off his socks.
After cleaning the blood from his wounds, Yao Ran examined it and said, "You are lucky. It's just a minor burn. The wound will heal within a few days of applying the medicine. Just remember not to put much pressure on your soles, and don't let the wound touch water."
Hearing this, Huang Qian took a deep breath and said in disbelief, "The rooftop actually melted the soles of my shoes and burned my feet."
Yao Ran glanced at him as she applied medicine and bandaged his feet. After finishing, she asked, "What were you doing on the rooftop? Didn't you know that the current sunlight can burn your skin on contact?"
Leaning on the sofa, Huang Qian replied helplessly, "I went to check the water in the water towers. The temperature kept rising every day, and Brother Xuan was worried that the heat might evaporate the water."
Sima Yun shook his head and replied, "It's Xiao Bao."
Yao Ran tried to recall who Xiao Bao was before remembering that it was Sima Chennan's nickname. Thinking of the child's skin condition, she asked, "Is he having another rash?"
Sima Yun replied, "His rash isn't too bad, but he has a stomachache and has been vomiting since morning. Could you come to my house to check on him?"
Hearing this, Yao Ran said, "Wait a moment."
She then hurried inside to grab her medicine box. When she returned, she locked her door and left with Sima Yun.
Upon entering the house, Yao Ran heard the sound of vomiting from the bedroom. Before she went to check, she put on a mask, protective goggles, and gloves.
Seeing that Sima Yun had brought Yao Ran, Ruan Ying quickly helped her son lie back on the bed and said, "Miss Yao, please look at Xiao Bao. He's had a stomachache since last night and started vomiting this morning."
Yao Ran glanced at the bucket of vomit and noticed something moving inside.
She turned to the others and said, "Xiao Bao has a parasitic infection. Some parasites came out with the vomit. This is indicating that parasites have hatched in his body and need to be removed immediately."
At her words, their faces paled. Ruan Ying burst into tears, hugging her son tightly. Sima Hao, looking at his sick son and then at Yao Ran, asked, "Miss Yao, we haven't eaten anything dirty. How could Xiao Bao be infected with parasites?"
Yao Ran explained, "Parasitic infections occur when parasites invade the human body. Transmission methods include human-to-human, human-to-animal, intermediate host transmission, and contaminated water or food."
She looked at Sima Chennan and said, "Since you mentioned that your family hasn't eaten anything contaminated, the parasites might have been transmitted by other means."
After thinking for a moment, Yao Ran asked, "Have any of you gone outside recently?" Sima Hao nodded, "We were working outside until two days ago."
