Chapter 220: It Seems To Be True

Yao Ran nodded and replied, "Yes."

Xu Qipeng thought for a moment before asking, "Are you the granddaughter of Chairman Yao from the Yao Group?"

Yao Ran raised an eyebrow and asked, "Do you know my grandfather?"

Xu Qipeng chuckled when he heard her question and asked again, "Did you go on a blind date with Ruihan? How is it? Do you like him? Will you become the daughter-in-law of the Xu family?"

When he asked these questions, Long Yu's expression darkened while Yao Ran stared at Xu Qipeng. After taking a closer look at him, she realized he seemed familiar.

"Commander Xu, are you related to Young Master Xu? Are you his father?" she asked.

Xu Qipeng chuckled, shook his head, and replied, "I'm his second paternal uncle. His father is my elder brother. I didn't want to continue the family business, so I ran away to join the army. It was really surprising to meet Uncle Yao's granddaughter here."

Noticing Long Yu's displeased expression, Xu Qipeng asked, "What's wrong with you? Why do you look at me like I owe you a lot of money?"

Long Yu took a deep breath and then replied through gritted teeth, "It's nothing."

Sensing his unhappy gaze fell on her, Yao Ran lightly coughed and took his arm.

She turned to Xu Qipeng and helplessly said, "Commander Xu, Long Yu is my boyfriend. It's unkind for you to bring up your nephew in front of him. The blind date thing is just a joke between the elders."

"Please don't tease me with this. If my boyfriend misunderstood my relationship with Young Master Xu, I'd be the one in trouble."

Yao Ran stepped closer to him and said, "I have never gone on a blind date with anyone. The only time I met with Young Master Xu was to receive the weapons and military vehicles I bought from Grandpa Xu."

Long Yu looked at her for a moment, nodded, and smiled, "Even if you had, aren't you still here with me now? In the end, you still chose me."

Yao Ran chuckled when she heard what he said. While they whispered to each other, Xu Qipeng watched them, feeling his head suddenly emit a bright light.

He coughed lightly to get their attention, and then he asked, "Xiao Ran, do you have any medicine with a higher chance of curing the patients with severe symptoms?"

Yao Ran thought for a moment and replied, "I can't guarantee its effectiveness, but if you want, I can provide Uncle Xu with a sample."

Xu Qipeng would never use his soldiers' lives for experiments or to test medicine. However, since there was no medicine or treatment available for them, he had no choice but to treat a dead horse as if it was still alive and bet on Yao Ran's medicine.

After considering the pros and cons, he asked, "How much medicine could you provide to the military?"

"How much do you need, Uncle Xu?" Yao Ran asked back.

Hearing her question, Xu Qipeng's eyes flashed with realization.

He lowered his eyes to conceal his emotions and thought, 'Father once told me Xiao Ran was stockpiling supplies and weapons as if she knew natural disasters would hit the world and civilization would collapse.'

'I didn't believe him before, but now it seems to be true. Could what Ruihan told me be true? Can she really predict the future? Or does she have another source to get the information? And if so, who might that be?'

Xu Qipeng had many questions about Yao Ran but decided to focus on the immediate issue. As for his question, he can wait until he saves the soldier before asking her slowly.

He raised his eyes to look at her and said, "We have over forty thousand soldiers in the First Army. Do you think you can provide enough medicine for all of them?"
