Chapter 230: Long Yu’s Secret Place

When they arrived at the parking lot, Yao Ran chose the same military truck. After she made her choice, Wu Lian went to get the key.

Soon, returned with the key and said, "I will help you drive."

Long Yu took the key from him and declined, "Thank you, but I can drive it. You must be busy, so you should stay and finish your work."n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

Wu Lian stared at him, speechless for the third time. "..."

Long Yu climbed into the driver's seat, looked at Wu Lian, and added, "We will be back in thirty minutes. Please wait for us at the gate to speed up the delivery process."

Since Long Yu had made his decision clear, Wu Lian could only abandon his plan to find out where Yao Ran's warehouse was located.

He sighed and said, "Alright."

As the truck left the parking lot, Wu Lian's eyes flickered with interest as he muttered to himself, "This is getting more and more interesting. I wonder what kind of secret you are trying to hide, Long Yu."

After leaving the military camp, Long Yu and Yao Ran found a secluded place where she took out the medicine and medical equipment. Because some of the equipment was large, they needed to make several trips before they finished delivering everything.

With Wu Lian's help, the delivery went smoothly and quickly. Two hours later, Yao Ran and Long Yu left the military camp.

Seeing that it was only eleven o'clock in the evening, Long Yu said, "Ran Ran, I want to take you somewhere. Would you like to come with me?"

Feeling curious, Yao Ran asked, "What kind of place?"

Long Yu smiled and replied, "My secret place."

Yao Ran nodded and followed him to a nearby mountain. As they climbed the mountain, she asked, "Do you have something hidden here?"

Looking at her shocked expression, he smiled, "How is it? Do you like this place?"

Yao Ran nodded, and then Long Yu said, "This will be our home for a while when the nuclear radiation hits the world. We can stay here with our friends and wait for radiation levels to drop before going outside."

Listening to him, Yao Ran asked, "So, is this where you hid the motorboats and your supplies before?"

Long Yu nodded and replied, "Yes. Now that you are here, we should take the supplies with us in case we can't come back here in the future."

"Alright." Yao Ran agreed after a moment of silence.

The shelter was built inside a mountain, and they weren't sure if the mountain would still be there after the super earthquake. It's best to be prepared and take the supplies with them now. When they come back in the future, they can just put the supplies back into the warehouse.

After taking all the supplies into Yao Ran's space, they left the underground shelter and returned to the Ling Yuan apartment complex. With the addition of Long Yu's supplies, Yao Ran's storage space once again faced the problem of insufficient storage space.

While Yao Ran and her friends stayed at home, the military remained busy fighting the outbreaks of cholera and protozoan viruses. With the new supply of medicine and equipment, the outbreaks finally ended.

A week after the military received significant donations from wealthy families, it declared the plague over. Survivors cheered, and hope returned to their eyes.

While the survivors and military busied themselves gathering supplies and finding water sources, Yao Ran was busy at home-planting medicinal herbs and food. Though the plague was resolved, the temperature kept rising.

Three weeks after the extreme heat began, the temperature reached a staggering high of 89 degrees Celsius.

With such extreme heat, no one dared to go outside during the day. People stayed indoors, where it felt like a sauna, and only came out at night when it was slightly cooler to search for

supplies.

Now that the plague had been solved, the most pressing issues were the high temperatures and water scarcity.

Almost all water sources had dried up, leaving only the longest river, the Changlong River, which connected five cities, including Juncheng City. However, only a few puddles and mudflats remain on the Changlong River at this moment.
