Before Yao Ran finished taking the oil drums, Long Yu suddenly came back and said, "The fire is getting closer. We need to go now."

Long Yu pulled her along as Yao Ran quickly stored the remaining oil drums at once, using so much mental energy that she felt dizzy and stumbled.

Long Yu caught her and asked, "Ran Ran, are you alright?"

Yao Ran rubbed her temples and replied, "I stored too much at once and overused my mental energy. I'm just a little bit dizzy."

Hearing this, Long Yu squatted down in front of her and said, "Come on, get on my back."

Just then, another explosion shook the surroundings. Seeing the fire approaching, Yao Ran quickly climbed onto Long Yu's back. After she held onto him tightly, Long Yu activated his wind ability and ran as fast as he could.

As they exited the warehouse, explosions continued behind them, and the intense heat stung their skin.

Long Yu glanced back to see that the warehouse they'd just left was now engulfed in flames. He picked up speed and leaped over the high fence.

Once his soles touched the ground, Yao Ran quickly got off his back and took out the military vehicle. They then quickly get in without delay. As soon as Yao Ran closed the door, Long Yu hit the accelerator, speeding back toward Juncheng City.

Sitting in the passenger seat, Yao Ran opened the window and looked back. The blazing flames illuminated the dark sky red, and the scorching temperature made her face turn red. After watching for a moment, she leaned back and sighed in relief. The hot night wind was filled with dust, so she closed the window and took out a small portable fan and a bowl of ice. After she arranged them on the dashboard, Yao Ran turned on the fan.

By the time they arrived at the Ling Yuan apartment complex, the sun had risen. Long Yu drove the bus directly to the entrance of Building 3, where Shi Xuan and the others were already waiting.

Seeing the two of them covered in dust and sweat, Shi Xuan asked, "Captain, did you find gasoline?"

"We nearly got caught in an explosion while collecting gasoline from the oil refinery. Luckily, there was no wind last night, so we managed to escape unscathed. Ran Ran and I also found a lot of supplies in the factory area." Long Yu said as he opened the bus door.

When Huang Qian saw the supplies on the bus, he couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow, Captain, you are so lucky."

Long Yu smiled and said, "Let's move them up. I have got something to discuss with you all." "Yes, Captain."

While they carried the supplies upstairs, other survivors, who were hiding inside their house, watched from afar. Yao Ran noticed them but decided to ignore them since they were only observing.

Once everything was moved to the 20th floor, Yao Ran pumped out the remaining gasoline from the bus before following the others upstairs.

If someone wants to steal their bus, they need to use their own gasoline. Not many people are willing to use gasoline now since it can be exchanged for food, so no one will steal their bus. Back at home, Yao Ran and Long Yu quickly showered and then headed to unit 2001 without eating.

Sitting around the low table in the living room, Long Yu looked at his friends and said, "We need to leave Juncheng City as soon as possible."

Upon hearing this, Jia Xiang asked, "Why? Are you planning to head to the Juncheng military base now?"

Long Yu shook his head and replied, "Last night, when Ran Ran and I were at the oil refinery, we found traces of mutant rats. Judging by the footprints, there are likely at least a hundred of

them."
