Chapter 229: | 229 | TIMESKIP: Part Seventeen - The Little Dragon

"Of course, I'm adorable." The little dragon pouted at the middle-aged man, who wryly smiled. Abraham stood beside Laplace and steadily pulled her away from the child, wanting to get some answers from the dragoness.

The two adults stood in front of one another while the little dragon idled nearby, holding into the stuff dragon toy between her fingers. Abraham gazed at Laplace's golden irises and asked. "So, Laplace... My Love, how is our daughter already looking like a two-year-old child?"

Laplace merely raised her eyebrows from his question and slowly presented herself as the answer. Abraham couldn't help but facepalmed, understanding that his question was a dumb one. He sighed to himself and continued speaking.

"Is this how it usually goes for dragons?" He questioned, earning the nod of the dragoness and her following explanation. "Dragon children are somewhat complicated, but in simpler terms, they are the combination of you and me."

"I mean... Isn't that usually how children goes?" Abraham was confused as to what Laplace was trying to say. Of course, their children would be a combination of the two of them. Why wouldn't it be? Noticing his confusion, Laplace sighed and thoughtfully explained it as detailed as possible.

"When a new dragon gets birth. They take memories of their parents with them as to assure their survival after being born. After all, usually, a newborn dragon gets abandoned by their parents after being incubated as an egg. Their survival practically depends on whether or not they could actually survive or not."

"To have an assurance of their survival, the incubation would speed-up the process of growth. The moment they break away from the confines of the egg, they would become a dragon youngling." Laplace pouted, disappointed that she had to explain it all to her husband.

"I see... I guess it all make senses now. Wouldn't that mean that she would have both of our memories from past to the present?" Abraham asked, to which Laplace calmly nodded.

"She will have our memories, although the most useful ones. Even then, such memories would be fragmented to a certain relief." Laplace continued, clarifying how much of their memories would be combined together.

"Our memories will be a library of knowledge for her to use. Is that what you're trying to say?" He inquired, making the dragoness nod in agreement. "I guess a library is a good metaphor for it."

"Dragons are usually considered as the apex of nature, which means that many would be hunting its young. The transfer of knowledge is needed since it would assure that she wouldn't be ignorant of the truth of this world."

"As long as it doesn't affect her too much, it's all goo-"

"Are the two of you done?" Before Abraham could continue, a soft-spoken voice emerged below him. It was none other than his daughter, who gazed at him with her golden irises. Abraham softly smiled, pinching her cheeks and remarked. "I'm sure you understand the importance of adult meetings?"

"Eh... The two of you are taking too much time talking. I mean, I understand. Being separated apart for far too lon-" The little dragon was pinched once again by both Abraham and Laplace, who didn't need a reminder about their circumstance.

"Teleportation, huh? Quite a troublesome variable to handle." Laplace remarked as she understood the complexities and the troubles that come along with the piece of technology. "I hope its tightly secured. Even if runic spatial-transmission is popular with humans, it's still a piece of dangerous technology."

"It's not a problem, my Love. The R&D Department has been considered as a highly vital and confidential part of the United World Government. Other than the higher echelons of the World Government, they are the most protected personnel in the country." Abraham answered with confidence.

The security and intelligence network that the United World Government had formed within its interior and the outside had long been realized. The foundation of such an array was something that would take years to uncover. The prime minister of the UWG, Charlotte, made sure of it.

"At any rate, how about we return to the United World Government? They must be worried sick after I left without warning." Abraham uttered with a smile, to which Laplace furrowed her eyebrows while staring at him. "You left without giving at least a sign?"

"I apologize for the failure, my Love. I was too worried about your safety." Abraham stated with a smile, making Laplace blushed. Although, Tiamat tilted her head and remarked. "Isn't father merely worried about mother causing more trouble for him?"

The words of the little one echoed throughout the ruinous hall of Anaconda. Abraham froze and felt cold sweat dripping from his forehead. Laplace kept smiling at him, though the smile was something he was familiar with.

It brought him chills while remembering what it was.

"It seems that my husband has grown to become a liar since my departure. How should I deal with this peculiar problem, Tiamat?" Laplace pouted though her eyes remained cold as she inquired her daughter. Tiamat glanced at her mother and felt a bit of chills while Abraham gazed at his daughter with hope.

"I think the reason why father doesn't want mother to cause more trouble is because he is worried for her safety." The little one responded, earning the narrowed eyes of the dragoness.

"I guess that make sense. I always trust you, my Little Dragon." Once again, Laplace snuggled with Tiamat, who couldn't even mount a struggle. Behind Laplace, Abraham gave a thumbs up, promising himself to pamper Little Tiamat once they return.

"Ehem, we should return home, Laplace." Abraham commented while the dragoness was in her snuggle session with her daughter. Laplace halted, realizing that this wasn't the time or place to snuggle. With this in mind, she nodded in agreement and asked her husband.

"Do you want to ride me, my Love?" Her words resounded, causing the middle-aged man to blush. Laplace merely smirked and continued. "Of course, I don't mean it that way. We can do that once we return home. Perhaps more with Charlotte and Mercedes in tow."

Meanwhile, Little Tiamat gazed at the two of them with an aloof expression. She had already given up trying to find some normality from her strange parents. Struggling would merely prolong a needless suffering. It was better to let go than maintain expectations of some sort.
