Chapter 231: | 231 | TIMESKIP: Part Nineteen - Tiamat

"Oh my~ She's too cute..." Charlotte couldn't resist the adorable temptations of the little dragon as she softly pinched the tiny girl's mushy cheeks. The Prime Minister had been charmed, especially after the little one's attempt in giving a roar.

It felt as though she might get a heart attack from the sweetness if she wasn't careful enough.

On the other hand, Mercedes felt her tail wagging from behind, somewhat excited towards the little dragon in front of her. The tiny girl was none other than the daughter of the Authority and the Dragon of Liberation. She was practically their spitting image.

The two ladies were completely entranced by Tiamat's adorable charm. They were quickly defeated in mere moments after the little girl's appearance.

"Isn't she the most cutest daughter? I can't believe she's mine~" Laplace didn't hesitate and joined in, snuggling her face with her daughter's cheeks. Her dragon tail swayed left and right, delighted with the praise that her daughter had gotten.

Abraham observed the two, sighing to himself, Charlotte and Mercedes seemed to be ignorant about the elephant in the room. Though, he couldn't gather the resolve to interrupt their moments with one another.

Especially when it was his daughter at the middle of it.

"Her name is Tiamat, a little dragon and my daughter." Abraham remarked, his voice echoing throughout the office of the Prime Minister. The two stopped snuggling with his little girl, slowly turning their gaze towards middle-aged man.

"I can't believe you would interrupt our time together, my Love. Look, your daughter is disappointed." Laplace pointed at Tiamat, who remained as aloof as before. Her sapphire-like gaze remained distant, as expected of a dragon daughter.

On the other hand, Tiamat had realized that the cute strategy wouldn't work against her mother and her entourage. She needed some change of strategies, otherwise she would become a dressing doll amidst the group of ladies.

Perhaps it was her draconic blood yearning for dominion over what it considered as insects. Nevertheless, spending time with her father wasn't a bad idea either.

"Laplace, how about you have a talk with your friends. It has been a while since the three of you got together, after all." Abraham suggested before walking out of the office. Laplace softly smiled, calmly nodding at her husband while waving goodbye.

"Alright, I'll stay here for quite a while. Take care of the little lizard, my Love." Her voice muttered tranquility, the sound of a satisfied mother and wife.

Abraham nodded as he opened the door to the office, leaving the three all by themselves. Silence soon encapsulated the interior of the office as Laplace's golden eyes narrowed before questioning the two. "I heard that trouble has been popping up in this city."

"Yeah, although I'd hate to admit it, those bastards have been building up criminal organizations in the slums. Their tendrils are beginning to lay onward into the business district and downtown. It's a bit difficult for law enforcement to handle them without inciting violence in the slums."

Charlotte sighed to herself, clearly tired about the troubles of tiny cockroaches that never seemed to disappear no matter how much they get stomp.

"How about the Special Response Division?" Laplace asked, inquiring about the organization she had built from the ground up. While the SRD was reserved for handling problems with magicraft, she had never taught them to be ignorant of their surroundings.

"Espada has been temporarily commanding the division in your stead. Though, he had maintained his distance from the problems of normality. To be honest, since your departure, the SRD has been the least active military organization of the United World Government."

"I have been thinking about cutting some of their budget to allocate them into somewhere else. After all, even if they are useful against magical threats, the issues we face now are entirely domestic. Besides, the Cerberus have been quite popular because of their versatility."

"They can handle anything and anyone as long as you order them to." Charlotte remarked, praising the organization under Mercedes. Laplace leaned on the table, her arms folded across her chest. A cold expression lay over her face as she divulge.

"I'll be starting a purge in this city."
