Chapter 1259 Rival (Part 1)

"How much time does she have left before her source explodes?" Evan asked Anastasia.

Anastasia didn't answer immediately. Instead, she gazed at the ice cocoon for a moment before responding with a question of her own.

"Have you used some kind of skill or treasure to seal her powers?"

Evan nodded at Anastasia's question. He had indeed used the Primordial Rune of Sealing on Valery when he returned to Earth from Azragoth World as her cold energy had been so intense that it nearly froze the entire planet at that time.

He explained to Anastasia how the Primordial Rune of Sealing worked and even pointed toward Velgoth, who still had a small fragment of the rune engraved inside his body. This allowed Evan to suppress Velgoth's powers whenever he wished.

Anastasia was visibly surprised when she learned that Evan had gained ownership of the Primordial Rune of Sealing as she knew that only one person could wield a Primordial Rune at a time.

Now that Evan had claimed it, no one else could use this rune unless Evan died or willingly transferred its ownership to another. (Information about the Primordial Runes— Chap 1170)

Once Evan finished explaining how he had sealed Valery's powers, Anastasia nodded and spoke.

"Normally, her small source would have exploded within five or six days since it's incapable of sustaining the existence of a life form above S-rank. However, thanks to the Rune of Sealing, her source's power has been suppressed and is leaking very slowly. At the current rate, she should be able to survive for about three or four months without much trouble."

Evan's face lit up with relief upon hearing Anastasia's words.

"Three months is more than enough," He said with a nod.

Evan had gained many things on his recent journey. Aside from the Primordial Rune of Sealing, he had also unlocked another Primordial Rune after breaking the soul seal. Unlike the sealing rune, this new rune had the potential to rapidly enhance his own strength.

Evan's mouth twitched in annoyance when Sylvan failed to appear even after a full minute and he sighed deeply, his voice heavy with regret.

"What a pity! I brought so many Eldritch Creatures here—including a Rank Five one—thinking they could serve as a subsidiary force for the Dryads and help them with everything they need. But it seems you don't want them," Evan said, feigning disappointment.

He glanced toward Velgoth and continued, "I suppose I will have to hand you over to Alaric. From now on, you will be under his command, serving the Dark For—"

"Wait!"

An urgent voice interrupted Evan before he could finish, and a dishevelled old man with a swollen face suddenly emerged from the ground like a zombie.

"Come with me. I have already prepared a place for them to settle," Sylvan said hastily.

Evan and the others turned to look at Sylvan with blank expressions, their eyes filled with thinly veiled contempt, as though they were disgusted by him.

Sylvan, however, ignored their scorn entirely and shamelessly walked up to Velgoth and placed a hand on his shoulder, as if to physically prevent him from leaving with Evan.

Velgoth broke into a cold sweat when Sylvan stood in front of him and glanced nervously at Evan for help.

Evan rolled his eyes at the scene but decided to let it go. He used his spiritual power to lift the ice cocoon containing Valery and addressed Sylvan.

"Once you have settled them, notify me immediately. There are important matters I need to discuss with you," Evan said before turning to Anastasia.

"Let's go, or that little glutton devil might end up eating the entire house."

Anastasia nodded, and in the next instant, she grabbed Evan and disappeared with him, leaving behind a grinning Sylvan, a crying Velgoth, and a dazed Ashley.
