Episode 60. Port City Muriel and Carlos Alven

“Stop! stop!”

Hearing Tolman’s voice from behind, I released the collar of the opponent I was holding.

Then, the opponent lay down on the floor with a disfigured face.

“Turn it off.”

It was only natural that even if you were a student at the Faculty of Engineering, you wouldn’t be able to come to your senses if you were suddenly hit on the jaw.

If he had prepared in advance and was wearing mana, the story would be different, but surely he would have expected that the wizard would approach him first and punch him.

‘It was a brilliant strategy to strike out.’

... ... I tried to express it.

I’m not a fan of provocations.

“Student Adrias Cromwell.”

Tolman approached me and looked at me strangely.

He inspected the fallen Aslan’s condition and said,

“I must have told you to stop attacking a helpless opponent before the match started, right?”

“professor. I have something to say about that.”

“what?”

“As you can see, I am a wizard and my opponent is a student from the Faculty of Knights. As for me, I was vigilant and did my best to swing my fists in order not to lose, but I had no other intentions. If I hadn’t desperately attacked the opponent, I would have been attacked by the opponent who was already close.”

Common sense made no sense for a knight and a wizard to engage in hand-to-hand combat.

Of course, there are some exceptions, but they can’t be as common as Tolman’s before.

After hearing my words, Tolman sighed and nodded.

“It makes sense. I accept your defense.”

He immediately told the assistant who was in charge of refereeing the match.

“The winner is Adrias Cromwell.”

“yes. professor.”

Soon after, Aslan was taken to the treatment center.

I quickly listened to the schedule for the next match from my training assistant and came down from the field.

To be honest, the match could have been a bit longer if Aslan had handled it a little more calmly, but that would be a meaningless assumption.

‘It’s an easy win.’

“Wow... ... . What is that!”

A slightly stupid-looking voice leaked from Lucia’s mouth.

But Vivian was able to understand Lucia.

To be honest, I wanted something like that.

“Is that a wizard?”

“huh. Adrias is a wizard.”

“That’s not it, but is that fist wielded by a real wizard right now?”

Vivian knew Adrias’ true skill, so she never thought he would lose.

But I never thought I would win like that.

What was even more absurd was that Adrias’ movements reflected in her eyes were unusual.

‘The movements of the body are concise and nimble. A swordsman’s move... ... .’

Soon after, Vivian, who confirmed that Tolman was stopping her, woke up to see Adrias emerge victorious.

“I didn’t see Adrias-senpai that way, but I saw something very strange. Where are you going?”

“I have to prepare now.”

“yes? Oh, are you participating in a tournament?”

“huh. I came to watch for a while.”

“I will cheer you on.”

“thank you.”

While Adrias was lying in the hospital bed, the two formed an unknown rapport and soon became close.

Today, it was only that Lucia came up to Vivian who was sitting in the audience by chance and sat next to her, but there was an unknown string between the two.

‘I won’t lose either.’

Leaving behind the cheering Lucia, Vivian clenched her fists.

I wanted to become a person who would not be ashamed of Adrias.

The second game that followed was even more bland.

The port city Muriel was a huge port where numerous ships came and went, befitting its nickname of a port city.

It wasn’t originally big, but it was a case that developed naturally because there was a lot of floating population.

As it is such a famous place, there was a direct train from the capital at once, but it took only 5 hours compared to the distance.

‘There are a lot of real people.’

I didn’t expect to visit you so early.

Originally, Muriel had only planned to participate in the next year’s auction.

‘Muriel has two auctions.’

One is the Golden Banquet of the Auction, revealed in the sun.

The other one is the night where the money flows from the dark auction house I’m aiming for.

What the two auctions have in common is that you have to be invited to attend.

And it was on the same day.

So, unfortunately, I could not attend the golden banquet because I was not invited.

The city with a clear view of the sea was full of vitality.

It seemed to be more active because it was a weekend, but I came a little early and decided to look around here and there.

But before I even headed anywhere, I ran into someone really unexpected.

“uh! Adrias or Cromwell!”

Even the flowing black hair looked handsome.

He was a lightly dressed man in a simple heart guard and leather armor, and he greeted me with a welcoming smile.

“I never dreamed that we would meet in a place like this. How many years has it been?”

He was Carlos Alven, the older brother of Diene Alven and the eldest son of the Alven family.

It would be no exaggeration to say that I knew of the existence of terror because of this guy, but I don’t know if he knows.

Since Carlos hadn’t seen him since becoming a count, he used awkward honorifics, but I felt rather burdened.

“Brother Carlos. You can just say it comfortably. Rather, I am burdened.”

“no no. It can’t be. I am also the eldest son of the Alben family and have been given the title of Viscount, so how can you carelessly call His Excellency Cromwell, who has a higher title than me?”

It was clear that he was making fun of me when he said it subtly with an expression like that of a bad boy.

Eventually, I shook my head and said goodbye properly.

“Anyway, nice to meet you after a long time. I never expected to see you in a place like this.”

“That’s right. Do you have something else to do?”

“yes. But it was free because it was an appointment at night.”

“Good! no, that’s fine Then let’s go over there with me.”

Carlos’ fingertips headed for the auction building where the golden banquet was held.

You came to the auction house. Coincidentally, that place is also open today.

I was curious, but I couldn’t go because I didn’t have an invitation.

But luckily, not only did I meet Carlos Alven, but I never thought he would ask me to go with him.

As the eldest son of the Alven family, there must have been an invitation, and I was able to enter as an accompanying person.

“I will not decline.”

“Let’s go right away!”

There was no problem with the auction house.

As expected, he had an invitation and I was able to enter without any hindrance as a companion.

‘As expected of Alven.’

The place we were guided to was a private room for VIPs only.

It was located on the second floor, but it was made up of rooms, so it was impossible to identify who the other participants on the second floor were.

Looking through the glass in the front, I could see the seats on the first floor that were close to each other.

The auction was already in progress, but a separate tablet was installed in the VIP room, which explained in detail what the auction item was.

There seemed to be a lot of things prepared for the rich, but I decided to take a good look at the items whenever they came out just in case.

“If there is something you like, tell me.”

Carlos said to me who was checking the tablet.

Are you even going to buy it?

I asked half-jokingly.

“Will your brother buy it for you?”

“sure.”

As I stared blankly at Carlos, who answered so readily, he continued.

“You should give that much to the life saver.”
