Chapter 2075 – Collapse of Faith
“Do you mind going a bit slower? I’m still in her stomach.” Lu Yun’s glum voice traveled from the Forge of Heaven and Earth. He finally understood certain things—crafting a third existence and hunting down the three hundred and sixty-five demon gods had always just been smoke and mirrors!
The group’s goal had always been very clear—lure out the primary body of the forge of heaven of earth and kill the Fire God!
He’d been kept in the dark from beginning to end. Each time Lu Yun thought that he’d seen the final truth and understood their ultimate goal, some fucking thing would appear to turn everything on its head.
This time, for instance, their plan to exterminate the bloodlines of the demon gods had drawn out a fire god envoy from the Divine Temple of Nothing, and then the Fire God herself. He hadn’t known anything about a divine temple or Fire God before this. Although many hints had been dropped beforehand, who the hell knew what they meant if the bosses didn’t speak plainly?
God’s existence, for one, was still a mystery.
Lu Yun spent his time pondering over new information while they fought outside and finally reached a conclusion that the Divine Temples of Nothing, Hongmeng, Chaos, and the Worlds were God’s creations. Mo Yi’s existence likely had something to do with them as well.
But despite coming to these answers, Lu Yun regarded them with skepticism. Only when he stood higher could he see further. He stood high enough and possessed sufficient strength to gradually gain insight into these so-called truths only after the Tome of Life and Death evolved.
He’d thought that he could easily trounce nihil powerhouses after the book finished transforming, but now there were heavyweights beyond nihil??
A great hustle and bustle sounded outside as the Fire God wasn’t an easy target. Although Dongfang Hao had damaged the Forge of Heaven and Earth with the Sword of Chaos, that inflicted only a small wound on the Fire God.
The Forge of Heaven and Earth was likely related to the Divine Temple of the Worlds.
Lu Yun looked speechlessly up at the sky and found himself meeting the eyes of a stunning beauty. She looked to be sixteen years old with a red face and locks of blazing red. The beauty regarded him resentfully.
“Fire God, I presume?” Lu Yun merrily stuck his hands behind his head and flashed a lazy smile at her.
“Yes,” she nodded.
“How about you tell me what else is there above the Divine Temple of the Worlds, Chaos, Hongmeng, and Nothing?” Lu Yun yawned. “My patience is running out with the truth revealed in bits and pieces like this.”
“Are you afraid of dying before you find out the full truth of this world?” The Fire God was still resentful, but her voice was thick with derision.
“You can say that,” Lu Yun nodded. “Is there anyone who death doesn’t come for in the end? Who is truly forever? So-called unending life and immortality is just living a bit longer than others. It’s the same for you, your seniors, and those more powerful than you who died before you were born.”
The Fire God opened and closed her mouth, identifying no proper reaction to his words but a resigned nod. It was true. There was no such thing as forever. Everyone eventually died.
“I want to live longer and even forever if I can swing it. There’s still so much about everything I don’t know. My biggest stroke of luck is being born into an era that enables me to learn so much,” Lu Yun chuckled. “The most unfortunate thing is that there is still so much that I don’t know.
“How about we make a deal?” he suddenly pivoted.
“What kind of deal?” the Fire God blinked.
“Tell me some stuff I don’t know and I promise you’ll make it back to your divine temple alive.” Lu Yun held up one finger. “There’s only upside for you.”
“What gives you the right to transact with me? Those outside will not honor it.” The Fire God arrived by Lu Yun’s side with a gentle shift of her body. Lithe and graceful, she radiated a burning fragrance and was too beautiful to be a living being.
Of course, her primary body was the Forge of Heaven and Earth—an unparalleled treasure. She wasn’t a living being.
“You can’t do anything to me, but those bastards outside schemed for countless eons to get you out here. You will die today.” Lu Yun was unafraid of the god in front of him.
“You also know that they’ve plotted for a very long time, so why would they let me go on account of your say so?” the Fire God pointed out.
“Because I’m Lu Yun.” The young man pointed at his nose. “You are unable to refine me or touch the Tome of Life and Death. They let you swallow me because they aren’t afraid of you eating me.”
“Very well, then,” the Fire God nodded. The Forge of Heaven and Earth possessed impressive stunning defensive capabilities. Although she was suppressed by the Sword of Chaos, she wasn’t in any danger for the near future.
She sat down in front of Lu Yun. “What would you like to know? Don’t ask about the truth of this world or the origins of creation. I don’t know those at my cultivation level either.”
“Who is God?” Lu Yun cut straight to the chase.
“‘God…” the Fire God sighed. “God is the creator. He created the nothing, Hongmeng, chaos, worlds, and their corresponding temples.”
Lu Yun stroked his chin. “Mo Yi… Ah, who is the mistress?”
“She…” The Fire God’s eyebrow twitched. “I don’t know.”
“Everyone knows, so why don’t you?” Lu Yun frowned.
“Everyone tells you that she is the first spirit to be born of the nothing. Do you believe them?” the Fire God smiled widely.
“Fair enough,” Lu Yun nodded. He wondered who’d come up and circulated that bullshit. The bosses outside were full of strength and shit. The most hilarious of all was that they believed their own crap!
“Mo Yi did indeed first appear in the nothing and is connected to it. Nothing that happened after that was kept from you. The replica that Che left in the Three Thousand was indeed to prevent the realm from absorbing the entire nothing and thus taking Mo Yi’s life.”
Lu Yun remained silent.

“But… God calls her master.” The Fire God’s expression shifted oddly. “This is the major reason why the Divine Temple of Nothing betrayed God.
“I’m sure you’ve already realized that I am not a god of the Divine Temple of Nothing. I come from the Divine Temple of the Worlds. Our faith collapsed when God called her master and so we betrayed him and the temple.”
The modern day Divine Temple of Nothing wasn’t what it’d used to be. It was staffed by traitors of the four divine temples.
Lu Yun paused, dazed. No… he hadn’t realized any of that.
