Chapter 2093: Worldcarver
He wasn’t God, but he possessed God’s Heavenfall??
God once sent the spear to Lu Yun so that the young man could extract himself from peril. He would never mistake another weapon for Heavenfall. It was the genuine article, something that Lu Yun would recognize even if it was reduced to a pile of dust.
What was it doing in the tomb owner’s hand?
Lu Yun operated formula dao to analyze the karmic repercussions within, but the tomb owner didn’t give him a chance to come to any conclusions.
BOOM.
Heavenfall exploded with energy and an enormous “execute” character appeared in the sky.
Execute, execution… to execute all life!
It targeted every drop of Lu Yun’s vitality—even the power of reincarnation could not operate. His death was guaranteed if the character connected. He would not be able to come back to life this time.
The character could pierce through reincarnation. In fact, the entire tomb targeted him and was waiting to bury him. After countless reincarnations and deaths, there were thousands of tendrils of connections between the tomb and Lu Yun. He was half of a tomb owner.
If he died here, he would be the new tomb owner. Forever suppressed, forever trapped.
Just like the previous tomb owner.
It would remain that way until another person with the power of reincarnation entered the tomb and repeated the process that Lu Yun had undergone.
He couldn’t move.
Although his strength was on par with a temple master, he still couldn’t move. Such was the power of burial found within a tomb. While it suppressed the tomb owner at this moment, the tomb owner was able to break through its strength when wielding Heavenfall.
It almost seemed… that Heavenfall had been created for this moment. It was meant to pierce through the layout of burial and kill Lu Yun.
God had built the Divine Temple of Nothing and its worshippers had betrayed him. The mistress was heavily injured and the Dao King not much better off.
God…
Was God truly injured? Was the truth really what he saw?
Every step had been a lie. Whenever a new riddle was solved and every time he thought he saw the final answer, there always turned out to be an even bigger issue or trap behind it.
One that Lu Yun never saw coming.
This time, he thought that the tomb in the Divine Temple of Nothing was the final matter to be resolved in the nothing. And now? How naive and foolish he’d been.
The biggest trap was God!
Lu Yun’s eyes were wide open as the fire of reincarnation spewed from them, forming two pillars of flame that met the “execute” character.
Poof!
The character dispersed, but blood flowed out of Lu Yun’s mouth and nose. His fingers twitched, followed by his body relaxing. He was free of the ancient tomb’s influence.
“You are indeed not God. If God had attacked me, I’d already be dead.” A sword appeared in Lu Yun’s hand when he gently clenched his fist.
Quietus.
The weapon that was named in conjunction with Worldcarver and Heavenfall was in his hands. Heavenfall belonged to God, Worldcarver belonged to Pangu, and Quietus… belonged to Lu Yun.
Although he’d given it to his disciple, this kind of treasure was eternally Lu Yun’s once it acknowledged a master.
“You…” Slight changes occurred in the face that was so similar to Lu Yun’s. The tomb owner wasn’t startled by Quietus—he’d seen it through Lu Yun’s lives and knew that it existed.
Quietus could hold its own against Heavenfall. No, it vastly outstripped the current Heavenfall.
Heavenfall was God’s and the tomb owner was only borrowing it. Although it could deploy all of the spear’s might, it was just a weapon to the tomb owner.
Lu Yun, however, was different. Quietus was his and, in fact, part of his life. That had been fated the moment he picked up the sword. It was a fact that would not change no matter who he gave the sword to.
What the tomb owner feared was why Lu Yun could deploy the sword’s true strength.
Although it was Lu Yun’s, his cultivation level and life form should not have been enough to fully activate the sword. It should not have been able to erupt with full force and manifest the “Quiet” part of its name.
Quietus wasn’t a sharp weapon, but it banished Heavenfall’s strength when they collided.
Quiet!
The end to all, an end to life, and an end to all paths!
“Why?” A stunned tomb owner stared at Lu Yun. “You’re just a rootless being born in this part of nothing, you can’t possibly leverage the power of the four genesis weapons…”
A Heavenfall at full strength was still not the tomb owner’s personal weapon, so it couldn’t fully release the spear’s strength. Even with the “execute” character hovering in the air, it was still unable to be one with the tomb owner and utilize its full might.
Worldcarver, Heavenfall, Quietus, and Creatio.
These were the four genesis weapons from the other side of the void. The legends of yore spoke of these four weapons crafting reality. Worldcarver and Creatio had developed the world while Heavenfall and Quietus destroyed the nothing outside of existence, making it a tangible thing.
This part of the nothing was a cage, a fake world. That made its denizens fake beings. Although the genesis weapons were theirs, they were unable to bring the weapons’ true meaning into play.
But Lu Yun had done it. He walked up to the tomb owner with the sword in his hand. Heavenfall trembled and left the tomb owner’s hand, breaking through the air.
Lu Yun ignored it. He simply looked at the tomb owner and murmured, “So… God… is the bad guy, isn’t he?”
“It’s just a matter of perspective.” The tomb owner nodded. There was no right or wrong, it was just a matter of being on Lu Yun’s opposing side.
Truthfully speaking, the young man didn’t have a side. Everything he was was a result of God’s handiwork, but never did Lu Yun imagine that God would raise him to be on the opposing side. Everything that he’d ever encountered flashed through Lu Yun’s brain. Akasha ghosts, the divine court, the Sword of Chaos…
While they seemed to be the work of the mistress and Dao King, it’d all been due to God—including the Divine Temple of Nothing. God had established the divine temples, so what was this talk of rebellion?
Its powerhouses may not have truly betrayed God. Perhaps they thought they did, but it’d all been under God’s control.
As for why…
God once called the mistress his master. God was just a servant. That was probably why.
Of course, there were many things that Lu Yun was yet to see, such as the reason for the great destruction of this nothing that violated the precepts of reincarnation.
Lu Yun was still thinking when the tomb owner began to fade away.
“Why?” the tomb owner still asked. “You are a rootless being in the cage that is this fake nothing. Why can you use a genesis weapon??”
Lu Yun stretched out a hand; the power of time twined around his fingers.
“The method of nothing…” The tomb owner smiled and gently closed his eyes, dispersing into nothing. “So they’re here too… There are more than just us in this cage of falsehood, they’ve come as well.
“Perhaps I am just a pawn…”
