Chapter 2110: Table and Cup

Lu Yun took stock of his current level of strength. He was strong, very strong. He’d reached a height that he’d never reached before in the nothing. It was an unparalleled peak even higher than when God ensured their mutual destruction.

This level of strength exceeded what could be commanded by a living being. He could affect his surroundings with his thoughts—the operation of rules, confirmation of laws, and establishment of order.

He could now set order how he wished within the one hundred and eighty meters of his domain. He could design worlds, create life, and consign it all to nothing with a single thought.

Such was subjectivity affecting objectivity.

The nihil was denoted by lack of rules and disorder. It was an empty void that contained absolutely nothing. Rules, orders, and everything related—even disorder—were settings that needed to be arranged.

In this moment, a heretofore unfelt sense of enlightenment filled Lu Yun’s mind.

“Perhaps there was no so-called existence in the far off past, just a patch of empty nothing. It was boundless without end, but also tiny in the extreme. Then, for reasons unknown, an incredibly strong being was born in the nothing. He created order, rules, disorder, and this part of reality with a single thought.”

With his body as the center, Lu Yun could also create a patch of reality that spanned three hundred and sixty meters. It would endure forever so long as he remained alive, just like unending reality.

Of course, this was all speculation. Not even formula dao could determine if his theories were correct. At the same time, they completely upended his understanding of the world. Not even the mistress or Dao King could postulate to this level.

All living beings thought all along that rules, orders, and disorder were objective constructs—that even reality itself was an objective existence.

An impalpable rhythm dominated everything, enabling objectivity to reign over all. But when Lu Yun fully comprehended this level of objectivity and subjectivity, he discovered that this rhythm was also subjective.

A subjective existence had arranged for it to exist in an objective world, giving birth to this rhythm and setting it into motion. If not for this subjective existence, then everything within objectivity would be… nothing.

It was easy enough to understand.

Picture a table and a cup. A person’s hand had placed the cup onto the table. Without the person, there would be no cup on the table. There wouldn’t even be a cup or table.

In the same vein, the rhythm and disorder of creation were the same concept. Without the influence of a subjective will, neither of them would exist.

Little beings thought that a power they didn’t understand put the cup on the table, that this power was the pattern of objectivity. Such was the understanding of all living beings, that the laws and rules that dominated creation were objective patterns unaffected by subjectivity.

“I can create reality with the flip of a hand now, one on par with this patch of reality. But still, it’s not the pinnacle I seek.” Lu Yun shook his head with a sigh. “Everything I create is based off of this part of reality. I would drift around rootless if we break away from this reality. There is no possibility of survival in an objective world in which nothing exists.

“Breaking all one hundred and eight seals is still insufficient to ensure escape.”

A tight frown creased his brow. He’d fully considered everything to come thanks to the determination of formula dao. His heaven and earth would absorb energy from the new heaven and earth once all of the seals were broken. It would be perfected, but he still wouldn’t be at the state of subjectivity affecting objectivity.

“What would be the point of me coming here if things were so easy that the mistress and Dao King could fully pave the road for me? They could’ve just accomplished everything in their era,” Lu Yun chuckled. “So what am I thinking about all of this for? What I should be considering is how to survive in this world.”

Entering reality through a dream was hardly an easy task. Although Lu Yun didn’t know the particulars, he could imagine that it took incredibly arduous effort. The barrier of nothing was indestructible and resulted in death if touched.

Even if the connection between the Tome of Life and Death and ten Yama Kings were severed, there was likely still a price to pay after Wanfeng entered this world through a dream.

Let’s take things one step at a time. Lu Yun had to wait since he was unaware of the situation in the nothing. There was no point fretting, especially as he should be focused on how to stay alive.

Although he now possessed more strength than he ever had before, he was also keenly aware of one thing. There were inordinately terrifying existences in this vast world—such as the ghost zombie king that Wanfeng had borrowed earlier.

Live.

He had to live on in this unbounded reality.

Lu Yun exited God’s Tomb with the map that Yuan Yi had given him. The tomb was now an ordinary mountain no different from the other ones around it.

“There is no second God’s Tomb on the map.” The diagram spanned a range of one billion trillion kilometers. It was infinitely greater than the Three Thousand, yet Lu Yun didn’t find a second place marked God’s Tomb.

Compared to the magnitude of reality, what the map recorded was just the tip of the iceberg.

“This world is too big. Even I can’t quickly walk out of the map’s range with my current capabilities.” Lu Yun shot into the air with a wry chuckle and headed for a tiny plant.

He followed the plant’s roots to find a sliver of heaven and earth. This was the only way he could strengthen his external circulation of heaven and earth apart from breaking the seals.

The young man settled into a routine of returning to Jingzhou City before night fell to hold off the ghost zombies, then exploring the world when the sun rose. Lu Yun wanted to find some clues as to the death of the world and the source of the ghost zombies.

He was certain that the ghost zombies used to be denizens of the world, that they’d turned into these horrifying entities due to various reasons.

“Can it be that the wondrous personage who created this reality is dead?” was Lu Yun’s speculation.

Of course, the notion that a subjective person created this reality was still speculation awaiting confirmation. Meanwhile, his strength continued to slowly increase.
